The MAMAMOO members are among some of the most-credited idols in K-Pop as of early 2023 - Moonbyul actually has the most songwriting credits of all 3rd generation female idols at 115(2nd most credited famale artist overall... Yoon Mirae at 139), since she writes her own raps(and more) in almost all of the group’s songs. As well as contributing to the songwriting in many of them as well. - Solar has 37 credits to her name. The lyrics to her solo song, “María”, were praised for its inventive and meaningful wordplay. 42:00 I really want you to know that you are not alone at all when you feel that way over this topic. I get tears in my eyes over that too, every time I watch that part of this video or watch somebody react to it. ESPECIALLY considering that Hwasa was still a kid, way less than even 18 years old, when some jerk of an 'adult' told her that... NOT COOL AT ALL. She definitely did not deserve to be treated like that. She's a genuine sweetheart but even if she had been a snotty brat, no child deserves that bullshit from any adult. So, that is basically how ALL trainees and even beginning Idols, Soloists and Actors are treated over there in Korea. Rather eye-opening, right? There are MASSIVE, GLARING problems within the very core of how the Korean Entertainment Industry came to be. It's based more on looks than on real ability, all about the outer wrapper; the shallow and vain mentality is far too prevalent. Damn.
Yes, I think all my built-up anger over this issue just came out at once.. I have so much pain in my heart for these young people being treated like trash, and I feel so useless just sitting here watching it happen. In that way I wish I was korean, because I feel like it's not really my place to speak up about things like that. Still I wish I could do something.. But I'm so happy seeing them stand up against it and I will support them all the way ❤️🩹 Thank you for watching!

Wow, I feel like you are speaking my mind, I think exactly the same as you. The song you asked about during Hwasa's section is a b-side called Kidding from her Maria solo album in 2020. Body shaming and internet bullying are important issues for you, Hwasa and Mamamoo so I'd recommend you check out their songs on those topics soon rather than waiting for them to come up chronologically. Tho they'd been attacked since their debut their label instructed them not to respond and it wasn't until 2019 that they took the gloves off and let the girls speak their minds in Hip, which is MMM's biggest hit. Hwasa addressed the hate on a very personal level in the solo songs Maria and LMM (Lost My Mind), the bookend songs on her Maria album. There are MVs for both songs. They're very different musically and imo they were the best songs released that year - artistically brilliant and socially impactful & important. And since you liked what you heard of Kidding you might want to listen to the Maria EP. Imo it's one of the best EPs in Mamamoo's group, solo and subunit discography, second only to the group's 2018 masterpiece Blue;S. Purple Hawke did a fantastic job with the guide but Solar's leadership was underplayed. She's definitely a yeba at times and the members tease her a lot but the flip side to her innocence and child-like naivete is her pure, fiery spirit and enormous, generous heart. She's known as the mom of the group and that's a great way to describe her leadership style. She's the most organized, disciplined and hard working member and she takes of all the behind the scenes details. Like a good mom she makes sure the house is clean and the kids do their homework while also providing a nurturing environment where they feel free to express themselves fully. As you said, she provides a good example by fearlessly doing what she wants, taking on new challenges and pushing the envelope. It takes a while to get to know Solar - she's got such a multi-faceted personality that the members have accused her of having a multiple personality disorder. Fyi when Solar mentioned 4 Seasons while trying to make a speech during their drinking party she was referring to Mamamoo's landmark four album series 4 Season 4 Color, which is the most complex, ambitious project ever done by a girl group. And finally, since MMM is known as kpop's gayest girl group you might want to check out their songs and MVs with lesbian or lgbtq+ themes, esp Um Oh Ah Yeah, Moonbyul's solo song Shutdown, and Wheein's solo song Goodbye. Don't react to them because the vids are from tv networks but also check out their performance of You're the Best at the 2016 MMA award show where they invited gender fluid dance troupe Pinky Cheeks to join them and their spectacular cover of the old Tom Jones hit Delilah on the singing competition tv show Immortal Songs 2, where they turned a song about a guy who knifes his cheating girlfriend into a lesbian passion play. And I was so happy hearing their older songs again on Killing Voice! (I can go on and on about them..) 😅
If Mamamoo comes to Europe again I will try to see them 🥹
Mamamoo is not the normal Korea girl group, every member have their own unique and talent. It is very hard to have a bias in this group, normally mamamoo fans stand all because of their own value they show to their fans. And fun fact, mostly of their fans, almost 80% is female but recently more male start to stand them
in youe ears is one oh=f hwasa bsides from her solo album maria i believe.
These tuxedos at the beginning are from Decalcomania MV.
I'm going to check it out soon 🤭😍
