- Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It's been a hell of a month with all our friends from Japan visiting. It's been a constant chase of giving them new experiences and exposing them to car culture here in America. For the final leg of the trip, we hit two very big events; the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas and the grueling endurance race that is the 25 Hours of Thunderhill. Spoon Sports returns after a 1-year hiatus with a new Type R, a slightly different crew, and the Drift King himself, Keiichi Tsuchiya!! With races like this, you never know what is going to happen, and things definitely did NOT go as planned. In fact, I think we barely made it out alive!!...

RSR just had a America vs Japan drift event and the Americans killed the Japanese drivers ! Dk ,Orido , Dai , all the japs lost just goes to show who is running drifting ATM !

That is the THIRD Quaife sequential transmission failure i have seen in youtube in the last two months : 1 mike borroughs (stanceworks at wtac), 2. Kyle and boosted boys (world cup) and now spoon. I think quaife needs to re engineer their stuff.
They’re not getting great reviews in the Evo world either. Plagued with issues for those that fit.
Yasu folding the motocompacto is the best segment ever.

I wonder if the new Turbo on the FL5 is less reliable then the fk8 🤔
@@anthonyfa18 it’s not, the boost leak came from a collision earlier which caused damage to the intercooler during the race which ultimately caused the turbo to fail.
The turbos are not exactly the same the FL5 use a smaller, cold side and have a different propeller compared to the fk8 version
@@anthonyfa18 you're right, I got confused. Regardless, the turbo failed due to an external issue.

Why didn't they use the airjacks in the pits actually? Not allowed for regulations or?
Yeah, even if it were t for regulations, I think it would have just been too difficult just to wheel an air tank in and out of the pit. They have pretty strict rules in regards to how many people can be in the pit area during a stop, specific safety rules, etc
@@THECHRONICLES Makes sense, here some raceteams have fully quick refuel systems with plastic cans, but in some races they are only allowed to use metal ones... So refueling takes longer with a "temporary" system.. They just leave the quick refuel stuff in the trucks. And use regular jerrycans..
When I was younger. I was into JDM but I moved on to American V8.

Or old Toyotas for that matter. I have a rare 2005 Toyota mr2 manual with a k24 Honda motor, and trans. She’s scary, but a blast to drive. Great content.
@@vltruane Not many engines are designed to run at redline for 25 Hrs. Think the 2ZZGe (Celica XRS) The K24 in your mr2 was ran for 300K miles in the Mid-Ohio driving school cars with zero engine failures ( TSX)
