Awesome video Derek! The Dash 8's and P42DC's seem to have done well on the Surfliner this year, but it still makes me grumpy and bad-tempered seeing all the constant complaining about the SC-44's despite what's going on with them for the California Department of Transportation. It's interesting to see the comeback of the classic fleets running on this Amtrak service, but as other fellow railfans have been pleased to see these, I honestly feel like and have been worrying as if they are having an unhealthy obsession with those engines and the Comet coaches. I do love the classic stuff but it gets super annoying and disgraceful seeing fellow chaps go crazy over them, although some SC-44's for certain other services have been working very well plus the ALC-42's nowadays, seeing as they are meant to be faster and lower emitting. All the same however, we do need newer double-decker coaches and other Tier 4 compliant locomotives for Amtrak's California services, and Caltrans should definitely work with Siemens to analyze everything going on with select SC-44's over here, as I'm a Siemens Charger fan myself.
