As a AMTRAK modeler, which I do model the SURFLINE between San Diego and Oceanside and I'm replacing my F59s with the new Bachmann Chargers. It's nice to see the real deal in action, now I know what to expect, but in a smaller scale. Can't wait to let my HO scale Chargers take over. THANKS again for sharing this beautiful vid.
One of the two SC-44 Chargers (CDTX 2107 and CDTX 2108) is part of the Amtrak Chargers on the Coast (Pacific Surfliner), and the other one is part of the Amtrak Chargers in the San Joaquin Valley (Amtrak California). I don't know which is which.
@DaRealConMan 2107 & 2108 were going to be Surfliner units, but they were changed to NorCal units at the last minute. They can operate on the Surfliner as they have ATS Shoes, which 2101-2106 don't have.
Train Shack Productions since Amtrak Pacific Surfliner ordered Siemens Charger SC44s, I wonder when will Amtrak Pacific Surfliner order Siemens Venture Cars
CDTX 2111 is included in the video, starting around 1:16. If you happen to be following the chapters feature, youtube set those up automatically on this particular video and appears to skip a few.
Thanks for showing all of the Surfliner Chargers, this wasn't only just perfect, it was just flat out awesome and I loved every minute of it.

Brightline horn and the SC-44 horn is so beautiful 😤💚
Nice catches mate!
Unpopular opinion, I prefer these horns any day over most other k5la's, they sound great and brutal at speed, and they are just overhated.
I'm going to let you know that I'm going to use this for a horn on Open Rails Train Simulator and I will credit you. BTW Nice Video.
0:52 a little late with the crossing gates huh
0:30 is my favorite
CDTX 2123 has to be built. From 2109 - 2122, that’s only 14 SC-44s. We had 15 F59PHIs on the fleet. So the Surfliner needs SC-44 2123.

Unless 2123 is in NorCal
Great video! I enjoyed the shots in Santa Barbara!
great catches!
I don’t really like charger horns. They sound to artificial
I agree with you they sound to artificial and an ungodly abomination
Yeah. Even the 3rd gen k5las on freight locos don’t sound bad.
Awesome video! Keep up the good work! Just subscribed!
I like how 2110’s gate didnt move until it was at the crossing
Greetings from switzerland...
You guys forgot cats 2114 in the video
01:55 is a great location🤔
only for so much longer

Where is 2111 and 2114????
wait, why are they putting new crossings in Oceanside? Im concerned now that it may lead to a qz throughout all of Oceanside
It's been public for awhile it's becoming a QZ. It has been delayed for months.

@@sebastianfloyd372 Never. The Surfliners will serve for the foreseeable future.
@@roachaximus5899 Yep
Besides the horns I rather keep the p42DC units around and there horns tho the chargers are decent
Where is cats 2114
Those new K5s sounds like garbage compared to any older model
Agree. The original K5LA did not need improvement. Should have left well enough alone.
Even the Third GEN K5LA on the ACS-64 sound better.
@@carlzipperman6689 new FRA rules are the reason because of rail crossing safety about more discordant sounding horns bring more warning
I Saul Amtrak charger on a Michigan train from Detroit to Chicago
3:25 it sounds like a sd70ace that has a k5lla
Nice one
No 2111?

2109 and 2111 are pretty fouled now
I don’t like the SC-44 in my opinion. The horns sound so artificial, like the sound is being projected out of a speaker instead of an actual horn.
SC44 seems to have better performance than the F59s at least.
@@DeltaFish11 Yeah they are better for emission, but they’ll never match up to the oldies.
Well, at least they're normal horns
@@DeltaFish11 true
all hail 2118
