I may have overshot on the savings. I’m prepared to spend $16K/mo. But one thing I’ve learned is that spending more for comfort and convenience is great and all but can also separate you from the experience.

I was here in 2017.... The tour guides started raising their prices as I declined their offers for a tour (instead of going down in typical negotiations) They spoke in Spanish and I was with a local friend....I did tell them in Spanish they were funny raising their prices. LOLOLOL
