@musicbab1 You can't bring a Style directly into the sequencer with the Pa5x. But there is a way to do it. First take your Style and Export it out as a Midi file. Then bring it into player 1. Now the Korg looks at that Midi file as a song. Then go into Rec/Edit, Song Edit and there will be all the information of that style in the sequencer. But this would not solve your problem, because all the information for Variations, Fills, Intros and Endings will be on that file. So if you're looking just for a drum track. I would export out the style to MIDI into your software. Then get rid of all the stuff that you don't want, then save it as a Midi file and bring it back into the Pa5x. Bring it in as a song to player 1. Then go to Rec/Edit then Song Edit and there will be all the information you want. 👍🎹👍
@musicbab1 You got it. And have a great Xmas yourself. This week's video, I am going to show how to bring a Style into your software to create a song. You might find it interesting. Take Care 👍🎹👍
@edlesniak2475 You can only use the "Style Play" or "The Midi Sequencer" one at a time. You can't use them both at the same time. But you can record a Midi sequence and then convert it to a Style.
As always your videos are very helpful. I have a question and maybe you can help me. In MidiWorks Pa+ computer program I can modify and update sounds of General Midi songs for PA5X and the program save them in SMF0 format (16 tracks). The problem is, when I want to add in Korg PA5X i.e. EQ, Insert FX, doesn't matter what. The Korg PA5X saves such changes in SMF1 (In MidiWorks Pa+ is visible 17 tracks). This operation remove all txt data from song (i.e. copyright, chords are changed on lyrics and there are everywhere between text of the song). The strange thing is, that in manual is written that Korg PA5X should save songs in SMF0. Do you know how to adjust / force Korg PA5X that it saves songs in SMF0 and not SMF1? Wbr, Christopher
Hello, my personal opinion is Pa series have evolved so much it is time to have as part of this expensive and great instrument a dedicated professional 8 - 16 tract audio recorder to which can sync with the accompaniments with editing functions to be able to do good studio grade recording? Is it not time?
There is in a way. When you go to Rec /Style Edit you will see "Resolution" list below the part of the style you are going to record. Default is High, but you can adjust it from 8th notes to 32nd notes. Also, what I do is record what you want then while in Style Edit mode, go to Menu / Event Edit and there you can dial in the notes to what ever you want. I have even created tracks by just using the Event Edit page.
Regarding my recently purchased Korg Pa5X, I kindly ask you to bring back the Song Edit feature, at least as it was before! There is currently no option for editing, such as inserting, deleting, or removing measures from a track, and all the details related to arranging a song. This is a very unpleasant surprise for everyone who relies on this feature for arranging. Also, in Style Recording Mode, please allow us to start recording from any preferred measure instead of always having to start from the beginning. It should work just like in Song Edit Mode, where you can choose which measure to start recording from! This is very disappointing, please consider making these changes!
@vladimirkazakov2554 I am sorry, I am not associated with Korg, I don't work for them. So, you need to send this to Korg. But, you can insert or change notes and measures in a Style by going to the Rec / Menu / Event Sheet. Their is an event sheet for just about everything.
Good morning. Thank you very much for your video, it is very useful. I would be very grateful to know if it is possible to record a multi-track style simultaneously, recording the entire style at the same time, with the keyboard itself dividing the places where certain instruments are located, as the Sx 900 keyboard does, as shown in the video what an attachment. th-cam.com/video/fLsEg_C_w60/w-d-xo.html Thanks. This is the crappiest sequencer that I've ever used where is the copy where is the append so I can like make a drum pad without playing 15 minutes of drums in making mistakes as I go I like to do like a couple of measures of it maybe four and then append or and it'll last me how many measures I want to put 8 where does it do that I don't even see a copy paste kind of thing in here this is so I'm telling you this basically this is a primitive sequencer even the PA 1000 has a better sequence than this especially when you can use a style and I used to like that idea I'd have the basis for the song and then I can go in and do it in the midi sequencer the 16 track and then I could change my baselines accordingly but at least I'd have the basic drum section and all the other stuff in there and done in time now I'm having to do it all manual it takes too long
@alanadee2514 I have to agree to a certain point. It is not an easy sequencer to use. Now, for me, I have the Pa5x connected to my DAW via Midi. Then, I can create a sequence as a Midi file. It is so much easier. You can even bring that Midi file into Style Edit to create a Style. Korg has focused more on the arranger in this keyboard than the sequencer. Which I think Style Edit is easier to use than the sequencer.
Thank you! This was very helpful.
Your welcome!
Is it possible to import a style to sequencer..? Like a drum pattern. Thanks

No, I don't. But I will have to look into it.

So why isn't there a quantizing feature especially for recording drums? Seems like a major oversight!

I try to mix it up with other things but I will definitely keep the Pa5x videos coming.

When I get into heavy editing, I use my computer.
You have beautiful hair

...and so I can do that on my Korg microarranger for $500
