Knowing your audience and why they subscribed to you in the first place... it seems so basic... sometimes we can miss the forest for the trees. The idea of remixing titles from other niches is also interesting to me. I'm trying to think what that might look like for my type of content.
The tip about modeling after proven titles outside your niche is so golden. I've definitely been implementing that as of late. I tried to do that for my latest video but I ended up creating my own. The title is A J Dilla Video Mixtape. The video is a compilation of J Dilla videos from my channel and the thumbnail is an image of Dilla in front of a large cassette tape. The text on the thumbnail says 74 Minutes Of Dilla. That's to reinforce to the viewer that they're getting a lot of content if they are a fan of Dilla. It's doing pretty well so far.
That we can target one thing in the title and another in the thumbnail (basically we can mix and match any of these 2: fear, curiosity, desire). Brilliant!
@@deborahthebaptist one thing you can try that has worked well for Think Media is the video title format Genius _____ Advice For ____ Minutes Straight. For you I guess you could fill in the first blank with something like Christian or Pastor and find some of the world renowned pastors sound bytes and clip them together. You can just write a quick hook at the beginning to introduce the concept and then let them take it from there.
The other thing that is key for all of us that he said is to get rid of the bias around your own content. When he said people will say help me with my titles because that's what I need help on. But he looks at their channels and the content sucks. You have to be able to take personal accountability as to why your videos aren't performing like you would like them to. We all should be trying to improve our topics, titles, thumbnails, and content with every upload.
@@juanchopestudios it's all subjective. The audience decides what's good or bad. While I would be oversimplifying things that TH-cam is completely a meritocracy full stop, I do believe that consistently making content that resonates with an audience on a large scale is a learned skill.
Watching this Think Media interview, I realized the power of aligning titles, thumbnails, and content. It's a game-changer for improving engagement and really resonating with your audience. A great reminder to continuously innovate and honestly evaluate our own work. 📈🎥
This was awesome! Thanks for sharing. I recently went on Reddit to share my channel for a critique and got roasted. But the community offered me so much value to take my channel to the next level as did you guys.
Did Jake mention mismatch between title and content? If the title doesn’t match, then the video will have short AVD causing the impressions to decrease. Many people say niche isn’t very important, but I’ve experimented with out of niche content and it is definitely an inhibitor with CTR. Your first impressions are always to your core audience and they either watch the video or not. When they don’t, CTR will drop.
I would really like someone to cover "non-education" or "entertainment" style content in one of these videos. For example in Tech if 50 people release the same video of the same product on Day 1, what title and thumbnail do you write and design to compete with the larger channels that swallow up SEO and Channel Niche market share.
I've been doing this for three years now and it's only really been the last 6 months that I've started with an idea, the title and the thumbnail BEFORE doing anything else and I'm starting to see better results. Getting a good title that isn't clickbaity is such a difficult skill to master but as he said modelling what works can take a lot of the stress out of it. Great video. Thanks
Great video. I didn't know that titles can help so much with gaining popularity... but I guess you learn every day as a content creator. Nowadays though I believe that the best option, for going viral as soon as possible, is to start doing more Shorts. People don't have attention span for anything longer, so I try creating expressive and concise content (and after I post it, I use a lot of Famester to make my content viral and it gets spread out literally everywhere. It also reach audience on other platforms as well).
Hello,I commend you on your TH-cam channel and the impressive effort you've put into it. I have some ideas to boost your sales potential and would like to discuss them further. Could we arrange a time to talk about potential strategies and plans? Please let me know when you are available to meet. Thank you for your time.
I’m a brand new channel and when I learned about the value in creating a great title, views immediately started picking up. I’m still super small, it have grown from 5 subs to 30 subs over the last couple of weeks! So something is working!😊😀🙏
I have a question about watch time hours. I make ambiance videos so they are about an hour long, my question is, for a video with 5k views, is 800 watch hours good or normal? A couple other examples are 300 views and 70 watch hours, and 1000 views with 80 watch hours. Ps. I tried to ask Reddit groups but they are so restrictive
My most succesful video so far has a very long title. It got me a lot of likes and comments, subscribers and even website subscribers. So it´s not much the lenght of the title. It´s more of if it captures the emotion of the content. They say it later on, but just want to make sure you get it. Don´t make the title long just because you can, but at the same time if the long title truly elicits an emotional reaction go for it.
I do think that we tend to try to get too creative or to specific with a title in an era of less patience and less critical thinking. The issue is just that, though we should change with the time and do what works, we also must think about how long can this path that has been formed can last. I loved this video though, everything he’s saying is 100% right.
I'm still learning to crawl. Got sucked into this by accident, but am actually starting to consider taking it seriously. Thanks for all the great information.
I probably don't understand, but it feels like there is a bit of a contradiction in what he was saying. It feels like he was saying, don't make it too specific so that you can appeal to a wider audience. But at the same time, make sure it is in your niche so that it's what your subscribers are expecting? If i'm an existing channel in a niche, how can i make content with a wider appeal that won't bomb because of a low CTR from existing subscribers?
Im curious to know if there is only a "window" of time that you have, if you make changes to your title and it is better, will the video be pushed out to more viewers? Or no chance? Anyone have experience with that?
I totally get the niche of “how to grow on TH-cam, top 10 tips” to “Here’s 10 ways to grow on TH-cam”. Everyone is searching how to grow so that’s easy. How about gamers competing against gamers that are bigger channels that get early access to the games. I watch so many bigger channels with little to no editing, no thumbnails and barely any personality just blow me out of the water 😂. Just frustrating.
I created a new education/course playlist recently… Is it better to have the same colour thumbnail or should i change it for each episode? I was using blue for each image, all thumbnails have a clear number on them to show the episode. Advice welcome 👍
I make satisfying colouring videos but last 4 videos I made with facts about the picture I m coloring of. I m confused what should I follow, facts or satisfying colouring in the titles and description? 🤔
The DJ Khaled method lmao....i see I like the emails from Creator Hooks which showcases across niches that mirroring what works (maybe not all the time) will work out
While the video offers some potentially useful advice on crafting TH-cam titles, the overall presentation feels overly sales-focused and relies too heavily on buzzwords like "secrets" and "massive views." The constant promotion of affiliate products and the channel's own services detracts from the core content, leading to a sense of distrust. Additionally, the lack of concrete examples illustrating the title strategies makes the advice feel vague and less actionable. The video would benefit from a more focused approach with demonstrated techniques rather than relying on promises of quick, dramatic results.
Hoping to reach 1K subscribers before the week runs out, currently @ about 800. Putting in all the work. May we all be Successful TH-camrs!. Don't give up❤
