Sometimes it works i mean we got Christie but this waters down the story too. I mean everytime female cast story could proceed they need to get a daughter or be frozen in time or some dumb shit. Imagine in tekken 8 anna gets replaced and that is annas daughter or her younger relative or something does it sound dumb now. well its reality if this proceeds.

What’s wrong with having a new generation of character? Eventually Tekken will take that path for the series to move forward, this isn’t new to the Tekken, Jin is son of Kazuya and Jun, Julia is Michelle’s daughter, Forest Law is Marshall’s son, Hwoarang is student of Baek, King is the 2nd King.
Male characters are allowed to age because there are fewer beauty restrictions for men than women. Forest Law was introduced in Tekken 3 as the son of Marshall Law, but people wanted the real thing and Forest only ever gets gameplay appearences from spinoff games. The same lesson SHOULD apply to Kunimitsu, but due to said restrictions of female representation, she was replaced. That's not even bringing up the excuse EVERY female has to stay between 18-25 of the other female cast. They are either frozen, died at a young age and reincarnated in their young form, are already daughters themselves (Julia is already a daughter replacement from Michelle Chang, Asuka is arguably a replacement for Jun and now Kunimitsu), or even blatant misrepresent their actual age compared to their male counterpart. Anna is the ONE middle aged woman, and she is specifically described: Age: 41 (physically 22) (TK5-TK7) This HAS to stop.

Not surprising they replaced her....the original Kunimitsu would be over 35, so the Japanese see her as a worthless piece of shit to be discarded 😒 But TBH I'm just pissed because: 1: she doesn't have the scars and blind eyes that made her TTT2 version so cool, instead looking like a random ass Nioh character with that glowing eye bullshit. 2: They revealed her face to begin with... a 'Mitsu should never be unmasked.
The red hair is there for the nostalgia of the kunimitsu we had in Tekken 2~tag 2. It's not her actual hair, but she will be able to be customized to have the red pigtails.
They did this purposefully for the trailer. Harada explained this on stream right after the trailer was over. The hair style and color... and the MASK at the beginning was a reference to her mom.

Anyone else hoping she's not gonna be another top tier busted/almost busted character? I would much rather prefer if she were a bit on the weaker side, where they can slowly add buffs if necessary, instead of making her overblown and nerfing her. Of course releasing a balanced character would be the best outcome, but I don't want yet another tier whore situation like Leroy, Fahk, Zafina, Julia, Geese etc, who everybody plays in tournaments.

Kiryu would fit Tekken perfectly, in fact much more than any guest character they put from other franchises so far. They already have a theme (Receive You), stage (Kamurocho district), and even moves ready to put.

I just realized something...there has not been once a playable old female character. We had wang, baek, jinpachi, heihachi, Leroy, and so on for old male characters...but looks like no old ladies allowed in tekken 😂.
This is something to accept when playing any video game originated from Japan. In Japan video game culture, there is an unwritten law that women must never have the physical age appearance of 32 years or older in their IPs that has been enforced since before 1990. The mindset shifted more so after they refocused their target audience from all audience to young-teen males not just in Japan and even more so in the America territories and its allies due to their even larger enforcement in gender stereotypes. This law is strictly enforced in over 98% of original IPs on video games in japan (not including games that derived from manga, anime, light novels, and such). In the case of recurring characters reaching the forbidden age, plot changes must occur that halts or alter the female age (usually originated from anime/manga sources). Such examples includes: Immortality, becoming a loli vampire, age alteration by magic, age alteration by science (Nina - Anna), must have a decedent/student, (Majority of Soul caliber 5), must become a figment of a memory (Ivy - Kasumi), and age altering by utter BS ( Dead or Alive franchise). There clearly more but that usually tied to nonsense. The only companies I know of that willing broke this rule is Square-enix when they made Rosa (age 36) playable in Final Fantasy 4 : The After years. And Altus’s Power Instinct franchise with their staple character Otane Goketsuji (starting at age 78). I'm still looking within their video game history in hopes to find more games.

Master Raven is an old women in the game, she is older than Raven who looked to be around 30 in the last game he was in so it can be said she is around 40-50. Eliza is thousands of years old and Kasumi is as old as Heihachi, thought I don't think they count since one is a vampire and the other was revived by the demon with the same looks she had when Heihachi killed her or something like that... well Safina is 25 in T7 so it has been 6 years in cannon since T6 so...

Male characters are allowed to age because there are fewer beauty restrictions for men than women.
Forest Law was introduced in Tekken 3 as the son of Marshall Law, but people wanted the real thing and Forest only ever gets gameplay appearences from spinoff games.
The same lesson SHOULD apply to Kunimitsu, but due to said restrictions of female representation, she was replaced.
That's not even bringing up the excuse EVERY female has to stay between 18-25 of the other female cast. They are either frozen, died at a young age and reincarnated in their young form, are already daughters themselves (Julia is already a daughter replacement from Michelle Chang, Asuka is arguably a replacement for Jun and now Kunimitsu), or even blatant misrepresent their actual age compared to their male counterpart.
Anna is the ONE middle aged woman, and she is specifically described:

The "Tattoos" beside her eyes are apart of the makeup of a japanese kitsune's markings, which can be found on various kitsune masks (being red on white on fox shaped mask).

The red hair is there for the nostalgia of the kunimitsu we had in Tekken 2~tag 2. It's not her actual hair, but she will be able to be customized to have the red pigtails.
Coz the red hair is tied to the mask. They are connected.
They did this purposefully for the trailer. Harada explained this on stream right after the trailer was over. The hair style and color... and the MASK at the beginning was a reference to her mom.

Anyone else hoping she's not gonna be another top tier busted/almost busted character? I would much rather prefer if she were a bit on the weaker side, where they can slowly add buffs if necessary, instead of making her overblown and nerfing her. Of course releasing a balanced character would be the best outcome, but I don't want yet another tier whore situation like Leroy, Fahk, Zafina, Julia, Geese etc, who everybody plays in tournaments.

Kiryu would fit Tekken perfectly, in fact much more than any guest character they put from other franchises so far. They already have a theme (Receive You), stage (Kamurocho district), and even moves ready to put.

Yes hes a great character but tekken doesn't have story mode for dlc characters so he'll appear as bland as Shaheen to those who haven't played the game along with his boring design. Yeah he has his heat actions and tiger drop but you cant make that every move.

I just realized something...there has not been once a playable old female character. We had wang, baek, jinpachi, heihachi, Leroy, and so on for old male characters...but looks like no old ladies allowed in tekken 😂.
This is something to accept when playing any video game originated from Japan. In Japan video game culture, there is an unwritten law that women must never have the physical age appearance of 32 years or older in their IPs that has been enforced since before 1990. The mindset shifted more so after they refocused their target audience from all audience to young-teen males not just in Japan and even more so in the America territories and its allies due to their even larger enforcement in gender stereotypes.
This law is strictly enforced in over 98% of original IPs on video games in japan (not including games that derived from manga, anime, light novels, and such). In the case of recurring characters reaching the forbidden age, plot changes must occur that halts or alter the female age (usually originated from anime/manga sources).
Such examples includes: Immortality, becoming a loli vampire, age alteration by magic, age alteration by science (Nina - Anna), must have a decedent/student, (Majority of Soul caliber 5), must become a figment of a memory (Ivy - Kasumi), and age altering by utter BS ( Dead or Alive franchise). There clearly more but that usually tied to nonsense.
The only companies I know of that willing broke this rule is Square-enix when they made Rosa (age 36) playable in Final Fantasy 4 : The After years. And Altus’s Power Instinct franchise with their staple character Otane Goketsuji (starting at age 78). I'm still looking within their video game history in hopes to find more games.

Generic anime characters have:
- unnatural looking hair color that can go in gravity defying ways (kuni has dark hair with red and blue strands like her powers-. Hair goes down like it should)
-unnatural looking eyes. (blue is an actual human eye color)
- no tattoos on their face or moles. (most of the time)
You can argue she looks like an anime character, but she doesnt look generic at all...

Master Raven is an old women in the game, she is older than Raven who looked to be around 30 in the last game he was in so it can be said she is around 40-50.
Eliza is thousands of years old and Kasumi is as old as Heihachi, thought I don't think they count since one is a vampire and the other was revived by the demon with the same looks she had when Heihachi killed her or something like that... well Safina is 25 in T7 so it has been 6 years in cannon since T6 so...
