- Don't be fooled with a fake gun no matter the brand, in the long run, you get what you paid for. It might cost a little more for the real thing but you will not have any problems. Hope this video helps you out and keep spraying.

no matter have fake or genuine, both can paint one car wery good.
If you use sata you can spot a fake fast. First thing I noticed was the trigger. It's squared at the bottom. You can definitely see a difference in the grip cuts and the bottom lip looks off. The Phillips hardware too. Ther last Sata I bought with Phillips screws was my made for Mac tools I bought in 97. I love sata guns. I bought Sharpe Titanium and Cobalt set brand new in 08 used them on one job and halfway through I grabbed my tired Mac. I went out and bought anew Sata the next week and can't giver the sharpes away lol.
I bet i can spray with both and you wont be able to tell the difference iv worked with alot of painters with real guns and cant paint worth a crap..and a lil advice if u paid 300 for the fake use ot man i guarantee ul get ur moneys worth 100 times back if ur a good painter no disrespect just a lil advice from a very experience painter
Joseph Salazar I agree. I recently started painting and have come across a lot of painters, with cinemas years of experience, yet the paint like crap. Experience counts for something, but passion and not being satisfied counts more.

I started Painting and Airbrushing when I was 13-14 and started at journeyman's wage $$$ my 1st job in a repair shop at 18 years old taking over the Paint shop with 3 Autobody guys doing the repair work... I also had 3 trucks show quality at 18, I had Tons of Passion for Painting... I give my wore out SATA Guns to my friends and tell them they will never know the difference... when doing a SHOW PAINT job there is a Difference BUTCH

My 2 cents worth---I for one really appreciate your effort. To help us better understand: (1) learn the focus minimum distance on your camera (2) write down and rehearse your material at least once, it will help a bunch. (3) how can you expect me to believe you if you were willing to spend your money to buy the "fake" and then never use it--to demonstrate the 'horrible fake' for what it is.

TN Royal got the gun for review and just forgot to do a spray out and don't have the gun anymore just made another review on the devilbiss gti pro lite and I did sprayed with the fake one

PHARRAWAY how much you bought
I have used SATA's for many years and own a dozen or so various models hvlps including a genuine 5000b which I use for clear only and a counterfeit 5000b for basecoat only. I am one of two painters in a high volume shop and so far both guns have performed equally as well for several months now. I started using both new out of the box on the same day and with the exception of having to use an adapter for SATA cups on the fake I have found very little differences especially considering the price difference. We will see how they hold up over the long run but the build quality of the fake is still way above average and better than most guns even those at several times the cost. I got my fake for free but I would say that although its probably worth the $200+ ive seen them for, its sad that people are always out to bullshit buyers who think their buying a genuine quality product. There's counterfeit's for most everything these days, at least in this case the fakes are at least useable and decent quality which is rarely the case with most counterfeit products. Theres fakes out there for ALL spray guns available all makes band models so buyers beware!
Roy Phillips how many hrs y'all turn ...shop I work for we turn 800 to 900 paint hrs every 2 weeks if u spray a lot you will see a difference guns ware out an need to be rebuilt bet that fake gun don't hold up in the long run that sata will last forever hands down won't buy fake any spray gun if y'all turn that much work you should be able to buy a real one .

Do a spray out on the wall an fail them both in using the same paint mixed in the same cup same Regulator and everything I promise you will see a difference German engineering is known across the world you can't duplicate the greatest you can come close but it's not the same in any real Painter will agree

When you clean the fake gun and then clean the real one you will notice the difference..The real one cleans the easiest of any gun I have ever known. You will be sorry you bought the fake one. Trust me..Try and get a part for it..lol

Both are made in asia and one is for the asian market and a direct import. It is the same with the Fluke 17B+ multimeter. It is officialy from Fluke, but only for the asian market. The thing is, if you want to help your financial system, then buy it in your local store, if you want to get same quality for less money, then help the red dragon.

not all of the 5000 came with the round regulator for some reason I got the gun from a sata dealer.

I am not sure that the cosmetic differences are important - how it performs is what matters. SATA guns are nice but way overpriced.
