In Europe they changed the shade system and is all over the place, i couldn't find an perfect shade for me and i loved this foundation in older formula ! I can't spend 50€ for a foundation that the brand can't provide a decent, cohesive shade range and numbering system !
This is my most favorite mixer foundations! It makes any foundation wear beautifully! I also LOVE the LaBase from Lancôme! I have 2 back ups of the old formulation! Thank God! New Formulas terrify me, lol
I typically like the same foundation as you. I don't tend to have the same experience with concealers all the time but foundation I typically feel the same about. Now that you've been doing so many foundation tests maybe you could do another foundation favorites video? I love foundation videos and your previous ranking.
I've tried the old lancome version and just found the look a bit too makeupy for me, you could tell straight away it was very good coverage but not so natural looking, so this one for me looks much better and one I'll have to buy. Psst your eyes look beautiful with that liner, you should do them all the time like that!
I understand that the new shade numbers do not correlate to the old shade number, so trying to find your correct shade online is a nightmare!! Needless to say, I won't get getting this foundation. Why do brands insist on replacing existing, successful products? Why don't they just create the new product as a completely separate item and keep the successful original item? Love ya 💕💜💕💜💕💜💕
I wear N in all foundations but had to get a cool tone. It definitely helps to go in store. I also have Care and glow and we basically stood there until we matched my shade with care/glow. Even the lady helping me said wow that’s yellow ( Neutrals) but I love it SO much I don’t even care. It’s my favorite. I wasn’t crazy about the OG but love this one.
215 buff N was my match in the old formula, and it was a truly neutral shade to me, maybe leaning slightly cool. I feel like the neutral shades from Lancôme in their older foundations all leaned slightly cool and now it seems like they are leaning yellow instead? I wonder why they did that. apparently 215C is the new equivalent or 215 buff N. Does anyone know if it is actually same as the old shade? I usually find anything labeled cool to be too pink.
That was my exact shade in the old version also and I got the 215 C and it is absolutely not equivalent and in fact all the cool and neutral shades look orange now. Such a shame because I have been wearing this foundation for years and now I don't know what to use. I feel like most foundation brands do not carry truly cool or neutral tones anymore?? Strange.
I’m so upset. I bought the recommended shade and I am so disappointed!!!!!!! Now I’m orange. Been wearing this foundation for 10 years and now I’m in trouble. I’ve tried so many others and none work 😞
Hi Patty, I've never tried this foundation, but I think I will try it I think in shade 240w, I hope that won't be too dark as I use 6.5 in the Georgio Armani luminous Silk and Punjab in Nars Reflecting foundation, but I will definitely be trying it. It's nice to hear you say you throw out your foundation when you can't remember the last time you bought it, I usually do after about 6 months but eyeshadow palettes I don't have a clue, even though I spritz them regularly with Surgical Spray. Thank You honey 🥰 🌟
A LOT of very common makeup ingredients will be prohibited in the EU in the coming year. It may well be that swapping them for something better impacts the performance and sometimes negatively. After all - health or makeup performance….? Easy choice as I see it.
I don’t like this new formulation for the neutral shades, they look way too yellow on all the reviews I’ve seen. Why do companies keep reformulating foundations when they were great.😢
I just tried to find the right match for me in the new formula and your absolutely right all the colors have a warm tone to them. I wore 215 buff N and it was perfect. I also did not like the coverage of the new one and it dried my skin out. I am not a fan so I will be on the hunt for a new brand. If anyone has and recommendations for the equivalent of the 215 buff N, please share!
@@theycallmerachellenoooo i used 215 buff n but i tanned so i was thinking about getting a different neutral shade :(( i guess this is a sign i try out a different brand… i heard georgio armani foundation is really good and pretty similar altho a bit more pricey…
I have been using the previous version for the last 8 years, after trying what feels like every foundation, I finally found a 'holy grail'. The new formula doesn't even come close to the old formula - more transferable, not as long lasting, and lacks buildable coverage. The new shade range doesn't have a 090N match and it seems like the rest of the shade range is all over the place. If anyone knows of a comparable foundation to of the old version PLEASE LMK!
I love the old Lancome teint idole foundation but the new formula has more SPF, and in the UK, they put more SPF than the US it's now SPF 35. I use mineral SPF, so i prefer when the foundation doesn't have SPF in it. So i don't think I'll be trying this reformulated version. I have just purchased the new Guerlain la teint foundation, so I can't wait to try that 😊
I’ll be looking for new foundation - I’ve stuck with this for years and years. What a shame. Doesn’t work for me anymore! I wish they didn’t reformulate
I used to wear Lancome for years before I discovered that I liked some others better. Then, once you go Pat Mcgrath, you can't go back to anything else in my opinion. The color range of the Lancome is very eh. You made it work on you but it was obviously way too yellow at the get go and a foundation should not be something you have to work so hard to match your skin at. The typical user wouldn't be able to blend like you can to make that work. I can't understand why you would reach for this over your Pat Mcgrath any day honestly. And when Pat has a sale, her foundation goes down so much cheaper, less expensive than Lancome easily. It's a no brainer decision here, I think. Thank you for the wonderful video as always. You are great and gorgeous!
I think this color would fit you better once you are a little more tan. Cause I have the same skin tone as you and Pat McGrath shade 9 is perfect on me in the summer but otherwise it’s too dark and yellow on me. Anyways with the previous lancome foundation I loved how it looked but I could not stand the smell of it. I would be curious to know if this one smells the same, but in the mean time I did find a great alternative for me which is the Clinique serum foundation, it’s liquidy and high coverage, I love it!
This is crazy! I tossed my old one out and found the same thing (or what I thought was the same thing) on sale for 1/2 price on the website. I bought it yet have not yet opened it... I'll look for the difference you noted in the pkging
I had no idea they reformulated it! I bought it this week because I wanted a winter shade foundation, and the old foundation had my ideal shade. I thought it was odd I couldn't find my shade 😕 so I grabbed a close match. Holy no nope. No. It's nothing like the original at all. My face looked like a coral reef sooo textured and rough. I returned it next day.
Well, I now REALLY wish that I would have fixed my YT pic, because my skin is actually darker, more neutral and not pink like this in real life. That said, I used to wear 360 (?) in the old formula, I believe, so I have no idea what shade would work on me currently. However, I am loving the natural skin-like finish of the new one so much more!
I loved the original and have worn it for over a decade then they changed the formula. I personally found the new version thinner...a tad dryer..a good primer helps with that...I'm used to it now. I just didn't feel that they should have changed it...people loved it...maybe just create a new foundation without taking away the original 😂 but since I'm a loyal fan of lancome this is my holy grail for now. I just bought hourglass ambiant foundation to try something new...I like it..but in my opinion lancome is better
Oeh, five pumps is a lot.... that is a downside, especially with a pricey foundation. And I'm sorry, you are gorgeous but the color is indeed way too yellow and I think a bit too dark, also. But it did look better once your make up was done
I am upset with the new foundation. The old one was truer to my color but this new version and my new shade noticeably oxidizes. It was my every day foundation for years and now I am going to have to find something else
I work in a big parfumerie and i can say that Lancôme doesnt Make the Foundation better. The Colour Story is horrible and on oily Skin its not good. 😢 We have much returns because the People dont like the new One.
In France and Australia in the old formula they had beautiful french names like Beige Albatre, Beige porceline, etc then they changed to random numbers no one remembers. Not good.
@@twoleftfeet9626 I typically get cool but then they're almost too pink or end up yellow anyway. It's really hard for me to find a perfect match because I am a redhead with so much redness.

Yes, she mentioned it before application: less than one percent of synthetic fragrance

I’m guessing the rare beauty foundation brush would work great with this type of formula. Gives a lot of coverage
