    Good video, fun bigbore airgun.
    Try some heavier slugs !!
    Mr. HP 415gr are awesome too
    The Texan CF LSS is capable of well over 700 fpe using the heavier slugs

      @@AirgunAdvisor There is no regulator, external or internal on your gun. And that group is FAR from tight let alone super tight. We watched you shoot an unregulated pcp with a big spread.

    • @AirgunAdvisor
      @AirgunAdvisor  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ronmiller7248 💯 no regulator. That is the reason for the drop. That was the purpose of this video to show the drop and the idea that if you are hunting with this platform, you need to know your dope based on the pressure remaining in the tank as well as the distance of your target. Now if it were regulated, I bet all of those shots would be pretty tight.

      @@AirgunAdvisor just from the research I have done , the projectiles have killer ballistic coefficient and can shoot 200-400 yards accurately. I really want to get into 100 yards plus bench rest shooting. The obvious draw back would be the single shot loading. I am trying to figure out a budget long rang shooter. There is so much new stuff coming out it is overwhelming

    • @AirgunAdvisor
      @AirgunAdvisor  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@northtexasairgunner Another drawback would be the amount of air that this platform uses. Since bench matches are timed, you would runout of air to quickly. Now if you are just long range shooting, this would be an ideal choice.

    The one thing that you didn’t mention, but it was acknowledged in the comments, is the loss of air pressure due to shots. Obviously there is a fairly large amount to the right as well.

      That is a crappy reply. Anyone can put the crosshairs on a 50 yard target. There comes a point when you realize fairly quickly that it’s the gun. More often than not it IS the gun. PCPs are a crap shoot when it comes to reliability and barrel precision! It is for this reason I won’t buy one unless it has shown to be reliable AND accurate!! The only one that fits that bill currently is western bush buck

      @2cthetruth So cynical and a crappy attitude. Are you saying the trigger control, flinching, understanding the best hold on a particular platform, etc.... doesn't make a difference? All of those things take time to understand and practice to figure out. Come on man. Not sure who pissed in your coffee, but I am happy to buy you a new cup of joe if it tastes that bad. Every dam person that demonstrates these guns (getting something in return), says the same thing when they get shitty groups. “Pulled that one!” “Oh, that was me!” When y’all dam well know it’s the gun. There is a specific slug at a specific velocity that will shoot well from a pcp…IF…your barrel isn’t a dud. More often than not these “promoters” are sent the best shooters the company has. The suckers aka public get the crap. It’s at that point the gun turns into a money pit trying to get it to shoot straight when it can’t!!!

    • @AirgunAdvisor
      @AirgunAdvisor  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Love to see viewers trying to look at things with a critical eye. Also don't think it is any secret that that the work many reviewers do is promotional. What is unfortunate is that there are some who are so critical of what they see that they miss the truth when it is right in front of them. There have been multiple times where I have refused a review because I could not get said "best shooters" to work worth a darn. I can also tell you that they aren't pulling out their "best" to send to me. The amount of junk that I have to remove from barrels tells me that these are generally right off the shelf. Unless companies are going so far as to dirty the barrels with dirt/grease before they send them my way. I could keep going with examples, but there are more reviews to do. Keep the critical eye, but don't miss the good stuff because of it. Happy plinking.

    • @2cthetruth
      @2cthetruth 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The more promotional videos a particular pcp big bore gun has, the more I am convinced the company is slapping lipstick on a pig to try to push them out the door before too many bad reviews pop up hindering sales. Fx is going through that with the m3 and m4. I own an m3 and they are not built like they are marketed to be! A lot of people are giving fx the middle finger and seems the Texan is there too from the real world reviews I see. These manufacturers taking high prices for crap products is something strait from hell. They’ll get theirs in the long run.

The Texan will push these to over 960 fps and they expand to about .60 cal at 50 yards when tested in my medium game analog. Video linked.
      The video is comparing the .308 Texan to a reduced .223 load (40 grn x 1800 fps) as both make between 250-300 fpe. So I would try WW is a HP in the Texan .457 cause it works pretty good in the .308.

      Thanks,the headline of this video said SS,but in your intro and in the transcript,you said LSS....I'm sure it was a slip of the tongue,but it was important for me to know which was right,as I have just got the 456 SS CF and know there is substantial power difference between it and LSS.
      Question: After doing research,it seemed the NSA 290GR was a good slug for SS,so I got 50 rounds and they seem really inconsistent in the seating depth.The manual says to push them in the breech with thumb or projectile seating tool until they engage the rifling. I don't have a seating tool ,but I push them with thumb. Some go all the way in,while others go halfway,and some only barely start. Do You think that is an issue? I have tight groups,but changing distances, I'm having trouble adjusting new LPVO to the bullseye. I would expect only elevation drops...maybe faulty LPVO?
