    I see and hear the attention to detail you apply to your ideas & concepts. It brings to mind the thoroughness of permutations and possibilities that Mick Goodrick used in his educational publications. I've been chipping away at Creative Chordal Harmony GMC, which every (inquisitive) guitarist should have on their shelf. Thanks for sharing the ideas and concepts for using your Creative Fretboard Visualization Handbook. It's all truly a lifetime study playing an instrument. Thanks again, with much appreciation.

    Not a guitarist, but I have been a big fan of your patterns and tone for years. TY!
    Edit: it’s also worthy to mention that pianist Brad Mehldau has taken a keen interest in mimicking guitar voicings in his work over the last five years.

    This is Gold. I have been looking for exactly this for so long on youtube. Wonderfully described fretboard visualization and arpeggios.

    I bought the book yesterday and proceeded to spend 3-4 hours working through it. Phenomenal. Can't wait to practice again. See, there's finding good material, and then there's finding the right thing at the right time. Basically, Tim's work is both of those things for me right now. It's not a stretch to say it's the best guitar instruction on the internet. The thing with guitar is that, yes, you have to do all the work yourself(!), but it sure helps when you have a smart friend show you the path.

    I remember generating and printing off scale diagrams with black circles on my dot matrix printer back in the 80s. I was able to see lots of great 3 note per string scale patterns for shredding but I didn't take it to this level with the unique arpeggio and scale shapes that weren't the usual scales and modes.

    this is indicative of a shift in how modern guitar players are learning to do more interesting stuff, more by the look and sound connection-instinct!

    Hello tim,
    i found out about your art just some days ago. Beside your technical abblities i was really able to connect with your music which don't happen that often to me.
    I may buy one of your books because you have a very good way of explaining things.
    Furthermore, you seem to have a modern approach to jazz/fusion. Maybe you told somewhere else but, how do you amplify your guitar? Do you use physical devices or rely on digital gear?
    Wish you all the best for your future endevours

    This is great, a valid key to invent completely new musical forms. Is there an effective way to practice the new material so it comes out in improvisational performance relatively earlier and more frequently?

    • @TimMillerGuitar
      @TimMillerGuitar  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, try using your new creations in tempo over standard or original chord progressions.

    I think it is much better and easy and gain more knowledge of the guitar to learn the INTERVALS on the fretboard than all these kinds of fretboard diagrams or drawings... IMHO

    • @TimMillerGuitar
      @TimMillerGuitar  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      There are many ways to learn an instrument. This is one of them.
      When you read the first chapter you will note that it suggests to learn and visualize intervals on single strings, adjacent strings and skipped strings.

    • @JamesMurphyProducer
      @JamesMurphyProducer 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yeah @danidcr, it's almost like you didn't actually pay attention to the video very well, because it was mostly about intervals
