Flex beat is dope for a all in one effects plugin however most of the exact same effects are included in the FREE in the Kilohearts Essentials containing 30 devices from Tape stop start, Pattern modulated LFO, Reverb, distortion, and so on. Comes as VST2 or as Reason Rack devices.
This looks super cool. However I bought my MPC X for its standalone capabilities. Till FLEX becomes a standalone option I will wait it out. Hopefully it is sooner than later 👊🧡👍

Not sure if someone already addresses this in the comments, but to change the shape of the curves right click on any of the points. Also dragging on the centre point ( between 2 points of a curve ) you can change the rate.

From what I understand, the Image Line Team has took down their stand alone versions of their vsts as they didn't have enough time or man power to properly update those versions like they wanted to, though they do plan on offering the stand alone vsts in the future
im ngl i bought a sp404 few months ago , and i honestly dont use it at all w my mpc keys , but flexbeat and air flavor pro make me wonder if its even woth keeping the sp404 just for the effects section . what ya think?
I don't use FL, or the MPC. I have all the Air instruments, now I'm going to get this. I use Reason and Studio One 5. So Ave can this be down loaded on one PC and put on my offline computer? Do you have to put this thing on iLok? 🤔
I love that too 😜. It's pretty straight-forward - nice GUI. The only tricky thing is using a pad controller, which is extra fun. You have to create a MIDI track, and send ("MIDI To" on Ableton) those MIDI events to the audio track / return channel, where your Flex Beat FX is.

@@Johnnyfivekicks Is there no learn midi function? Also kinda sucks if Akai didn't allow you to use Flex with the pads, it's got 16 squares and looks like its supposed to be pad based.

I got shaperbox so...I've seen flex beat thought it was a sample/drum machine player at first. Its nice if you don't own fl studio/gross beat or shaperbox, should get it if so :) specially at that launch price (shaperbox is not so cheap atm)
I'm a shaper box user myself. I have not seen anything except maybe Infiltrator beat Shaper Box though I use them both for different things. The both have Time manipulators and both are a lot more $ than this though they do a lot more.
I'm using it in Ableton not the MPC software. The only way to access the Flex Beat banks is to unfold the Ableton device parameters. There is no drop down on the vst GUI to access banks or save user banks. I've contacted Akai, but they've referred me to the user guide which doesn't address the problem. Anyone else have this issue?
Is this only available with mpc beats? Is it possible to use in Serato Studio.... i've been converted ever since that Stems 2.0 video you made! Ive wasted money on vsts that weren't compatible such as (Sound select workstation, Hattricks, thenatin hatz etc) Is there anything you could recommend besides halftime?
Flex Beat doesnt need to be made standalone, all of these effects are in your XY Effects already. This is simply your XY Effects made into a plug in. Not the other way around.
Sorry, but this sounds like a weird move from AKAI, as FLEX is very FL Studio connected in that context + the presets are 1:1 the ones from our Gross Beat plugin. This IS weird. And I thought we were friends :( :P

It’s the same… same installer etc. FL probably licensed it to Akai. They have a relationship. Just like Akai made the midi controller for FL.

Fortunately no iLok. I did a test: Went offline, started Ableton, and (payed) Flex Beat was still working.

The install for this software uses the same install screen look as FL Studio.
When you install a plug in on the MPC desktop software will it automatically be installed on to your mpc hardware?
