    I have never been to NYC but after almost a year of watching these videos, I feel that I can tour the city alone without getting lost in the process.

    Can we all just take a second to acknowledge AK’s dedication especially during the pandemic? I’ve been intrigued the whole time & it’s nice that he’s still going💪🏾♥️ The bike ride looks so relaxing but the traffic would make me scared🥺

    ActionKid, you are the greatest! Sceneries around NY I would not have ever seen.

    The city needs to put some fencing along that scary part of the roadway that has none. Not a priority, I guess. Good ride, AK!

      Fencing is only done with a fencing weapon otherwise its pretty dangerous

    • @heresYoshii
      @heresYoshii 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      DUDE SERIOUSLY. its been years and they STILL have yet to fence it. but unfortunately it seems for anything to get done, something tragic has to happen first. lets hope in this instance that isn't true.

    Thanks for riding all over the city. This one here was a tough ride for you, all those stairs, smh!! Then that narrow bridge, with no safety rails up. You are lucky it wasn't Very Windy that day. Me, I might have lost my balance (even walking) & fell in the East River, YUCK!! DIRTY WATER Lol!! Thank you for all your hard work! Sylvia

    Great history lesson of the East river and of the Triborough Bridge and the Hell Gate Bridge. I rather watch your old videos Actionkid. Right now my heart aches seeing the bad things that are happening in the Big Apple where I was born. Be safe and take care of yourself Actionkid! God bless you!

    Shocking and insightful contrast between the nasty path on the bridge and the nice ways in the park and later in the industrial area 👍

    I LOVE New York Bridges but HATE Heights, I would be shaking like a leaf at the part with a low fence, surely the owners would spend a bit of cash to make it more safe? it needs new safetly fences all along, I can imagine a few suicides along that stretch sadly. wonderfull video AK I love to cycle myself and would be like a little boy in a sweet shop if I was in NYC so many interesting bike rides, thank you for filming not only the tourists spots, but the rougher industrialised areas too, im fascinated by it all, your videos are very honest, interesting, entertaining, and addictive to people like me, also because im an Artist I get inspiration from you, and I have totaly fell in love with the bridge videos, Thank you again Ken, please be carefull when filming, stay safe

    7:00 This is a great place to spot mile-long CSX trains going over the Hells Gate Bridge.

    If the East River flows from the Atlantic to the north of Long Island and into New York Harbour beyond Brooklyn Bridge which joins the south edge of Long Is under the Verazano Narrows Bridge into the Atlantic is it a river ?
    Ps...I watch as many of your vids as possible, love them all.

    • @b.griffin317
      @b.griffin317 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is a tidal channel or something like that, but is colloquially a "river." The Harlem river and a bunch of other small "kills" are similar.

    • @rogerbradford6472
      @rogerbradford6472 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@b.griffin317 I noticed very strong current while taking the circle line...imagine Long Island causes strong tidal action through that narrow opening between both Atlantic connections.

    I do that ride about 3 or 4 times a week and i always ride farthest side from the railing walkers can walk by the rail its safer for them and passing another bike i stop and let him pass way too dangerous riding close to rail one bump and over you go!

    Forget that ride. I don't like the stairs or the low railing. I usually ride into Manhattan via 59th St. Bridge and take 1st Ave. up to Wards Island Bridge to get to Randall's Island. It's a longer ride but safer with the bike paths. The MTA bites hard. A bunch of lazy people who are car-centric. Probably none of them rides a bike.
    It's an older video but the Action Kid is great for showing how to get around the city. Thank you, AK.

    Interesting how there are these grooves where you can rest your bike to push them up and down stairs.

    According to Joe DiMarco (aka “Crazeenydriver”), you can’t make video on this RFK Bridge according to the MTA Bridge & Tunnel Authority. The MTA Bridge & Tunnel Authority headquarters is in Randalls Island which is near the two bridges and the Hell’s Gate railroad bridge.
    Originally was the Triborough Bridge opened in 1936 which was during the Great Depression, and it was the first of all three bridges including a suspension bridge, a drawbridge, and a cantilever bridge. It connects Randalls Island, along with Manhattan and the Bronx together with a viaduct.

    Love the introduction to this path but hate all these newbies sight seeing while cycling blocking the path and making it more difficult to go up the stairs. Question is the Bridge more of incline like the queensboro bridge

    18:47 That's interesting. So an automatic gate bars pedestrian flow through from either direction, while the train gate opens to allow a slow moving train to cross through? Only in New York.

    Have you considered panniers for your bike? It would solve problem that the current crate tends to raise the center of gravity and thus somewhat destablize the bike. Most long distance bike tourists use panniers. The keep the center of gravity on the bike lower with an equivalent load than the crate. I see that you do have a rear rack which should handle the panniers. While living in Houston, every so often I would ride my bike to the grocery store and could get about 2 paper bags full of groceries in the panniers. These were about 2000 cubic inch capacity. The depth will typically handle items that are not to thick but would fit in the crate.

    You would think it would be smarter to put the railings on the right side to make it easier for people going up the ramp rather than down.
