Ashley is so angry so frustrated. Only the Barra MacNeils and the Rankins could invite him in good faith on their show. Image old Don Messer having him on. Of course he wasn't an angry young Scot/NS so to hell with Don and Marg and Charlie etc. etc.
I think that Ashley is like most of us in that he wants to be treated with respect . Don Messer was a decent fiddler but not in Ashley`s league .I don`t think that he had the confidence to be upstaged by someone with Ashley Mac Isaac`s talent . Also , Messer was known for being pretty cheap with his band . I think that MacIsaac would find that unacceptable . It says a lot about the Barra MacNeils that they would have him on .They had 3 fiddlers up there , all of whom are very good .Yet , they still had the integrity to have Ashley perform with them .They respected him rather than being afraid of him .
So wish I'd have the prividlege of experiencing this magic!

Weird conversation. What does Don Messer have to do with anything - why slag him? Besides, Ashley has performed with lots of other people.
