  • Hello you lot! I hope you are having a brilliant weekend!
Thank you so much for coming back to watch. I hope it's helping whenever you need it, in some way. This week, we've got a guest! It's Lizzy Hadfield of Shot From the Street. It was so amazing to sit and chat to someone who's struggles are different, and to find out about the ways in which Lizzy copes.

Excellent video. I wasn't anxious as a teen but got hugely anxious in my 20s, but am now broadly on top of it in my 30s. This is true of so many of my female friends. So much is expected of you in your 20s, it's a hugely stressful period of your lives. You're 'expected' to finish education, launch your career, meet the love of your life. In no other decade do we expect so much of ourselves. So what I'm saying is you will almost certainly not take anxiety with you throughout your life, and you will start to feel better as you get older. Meanwhile, keep walking!

Thank you both for this. I have been on medication for a number of years for my anxiety and am now tying to wean myself off them and this series is certainly helping me by giving me alternative ways to cope. Again big big thanks xxx

Enjoying your reset series. You are doing a good job Lindsey! Even though I love your vlogs and fashion content, I am glad to see you addressing anxiety problems which we all seem to be struggling with on daily basis.

This is the first vid i've watched in this series, and i'm about to go watch the rest. I've never really talked to anyone about the feeling of someone sitting on my chest but that exactly the feeling! Sometimes if i do say something to someone they will say "you can't do anything about it, so try not to worry" but i always say i can't switch it off, its not a thought its a feeling. it so nice to hear others say the same thing!

It is so nice that you have such a strong friendship and you are able to help each other. Life is stressful and the stress can manifest itself in so many different ways. From past experiences I have learned that practicing mindfulness and meditation can be such a benefit to someone that feels this kind of anxiety. I have also found that when you start to google symptoms this can snowball and be very detrimental to your well being, only because it exposes all and beyond that may not pertain to you at all, but it can totally freak you out. You may need to adjust your caffeine levels and get some outside therapy help as well. Friendships are wonderful and having each other is also wonderful, but sometimes a third party that is not emotionally involved with you is the best way to go. You are both strong young women that have so much potential, but you are involved in a business that you have to keep on moving with and finding what makes you different and special and always developing new content and I think this in itself is stressful. So take care of yourselves first both mentally and physically so that you can be the best you!

Lindsey, thank you for this. I wish I had this a couple of years ago to show friends when I went through a suicidal nervous breakdown. I dunno whether you have had CBT but I was lucky enough to receive it very quickly through Bupa. I went to appointments for an hour, once a week for eight months. In the short term it did nothing but over time it helped me.My first memory of anxiety was at the age of six and my first bout of depression was at the age of twelve. Only now at 22 can I say I don't live with either of those things. I still get SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and anxious when confronted with old triggers but CBT and cutting out/down on addictive substances helped a lot. As well as totally changing my living situation and the people I surround myself with.I feel awful for you. When Lizzy described the random episode in a shop, it took me back to the time when I was in a bank with my now ex. I seriously hope you overcome it one day because it's a bloody dreadful condition!

Lovely honest chat ladies. Anything dairy is good for anxiety as it contains tryptophan which is calming. Also CBT is great for training your mind to stop ruminating. Loads of books out there x

What Lizzy said reminded me of something I've heard before : If you have to eat a frog a day, make sure you eat it first thing in the morning. If you have to eat 2 make sure you eat the bigger one first. ^^'

Hi Lindsey, I know you mentioned about anxiety and coffee. I have followed this regimen and that is no caffeine after 2:00 pm. You sleep better, switch to decaf tea like lavender tea it definitely calms your nerves and as well as drink tons of lemon water:)

Thank you for this. I’ve only recently discovered this about myself so needless to say I’m at the beginning of my journey. My big concern at the moment is trying to get other people to understand, especially my partner. I just don’t know what to say to help people understand. It would be great to hear more about how you started communicating this with James and how you found a workable solution for you both. C x

I love how you spoke about travelling affecting mental health. I think that this is just something hard to admit, because travelling should- especially in the eyes of other people- make you feel better and jet lag affecting your mental health is just something that sounds like you’re not grateful for the opportunity, which is a completely shit perspective! You should definetely make a podcast👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Chris and Olivia cracking on is so underrated. Also don't take this the wrong way Lindsey (obvi your voices and looks and personalities are sooo different) but sometimes you remind me a bit of Olivia. I think it might be your hand expressions, idk what it is...
