The problem with integration is that Swedens plan was to integrate these people into their culture, but these people have no interest in that and instead demand Swedes integrate into their culture.

The immigrants' culture is tied to their religion, but you can't touch their religion. So, the result is no integration.

The problem is caused by the high numbers of people entering the country in short time. Turks and Syrians are both muslims and actually among the Arabs Syrians are the culturally closest to Turks yet there are some problems. I can't deny religion is tightly tied into the Culture. An average Muslim or Christian can do well togother, but in theory they both believe they are true believers, and only they are doing the true while the others are destined to hell. They believe their style is the right one, and they try to conserve their community. So, it is normal to have parallel communities living togother. But still when people integrated into the society, most of them somehow integrate. Jews lived thousands of years in Europe, they had been integrated but it had not stopped them to be persecuted. I am trying to find a land where there is no problem between different Religions, if we don't count extremists perhaps UK is such an example. Sometimes having strict nationality definitions etc can cause the problems. If the supreme French culture is well defined then the Arab that still Shops north african sausages from a halal butcher can be a problem. But if you make Curry your Cousine then the Indians cooking food in Britain would be well integrated. Emmigration is something beneficial as long as kept in control I believe. I am a Turk, and I love my culture and don't like the change. I don't like Arab sisha cafees in my country but, well, change is a natural thing. I believe the important thing is to keep things in control. Change is natural but it should not harm the society's well being. Also, humankind are racist in nature. Large numbers of emmigrants provoking that natural feelings in the society and it contribute to rise of far right. And far right is uncontrollable, it cause unreversable harms. I am not against immigration but it should be kept in control somehow. And also, there were Turks in Bulgaria that flying from Jivkovs policies. Some Turks of Turkey (although it was a very mild opposition) opposed to them. They were Turks, sharing same religion, speaking the same language. No one likes a large number of people to emmigrate into their land. It creates turmoil. My advice would be to educate their children, otherwise Sweeden will see the real rise of crime. Education is a must to avoid the emergence of a new social class from those refugees. If a new class emerges out of them then commiting crime would be more accepted amongst the new class since they would have grow up in a ghetto where all their role models are somehow criminals.

The arabian gulf comprises 4 smurf countries that certainly do not want more people, in addition to KSA and Oman whose reproduction rates surpasses the ideal. Why would any of them ever want to welcome migrants? Europe, on the other hand, feature major countries with low birth rates, so they have a good reason to welcome immigrants. I am not trying to down-play the generousity of europeans in welcoming the refugees, but the refugees are expected to fix the problem that the natives failed to do.

This is true for Sweden, Ukraine, and Palestine. If Middle Eastern countries could imitate Jordan or Sweden, their populations would be happier and safer and not want to leave. Syria, though, is known for violence and drug trafficking in the Middle East. The Syrian government apparently makes a lot of money to fund their regime. It's sad to see.

As an immigrant working and living in Norway, I must say that Sweden surprised me with how easily they granted work permits, permanent residency, and citizenship. In Norway, obtaining a work visa is limited to EU citizens or skilled workers. To secure permanent residency, one needs to undergo a language test and a "Samfunnskunnskap" (social studies) test. Citizenship requires passing a B1 oral language proficiency exam. I have a friend working in Sweden who holds Swedish citizenship, although his Swedish language proficiency is comparable to Tarzan's.

In germany they already made it easier for any immigrant or refugee to get german citizenship in 3 years and they are thinking about making it even easier to "give incentive for integration" wich is so dumb I think and completly backwords, citizenship should be the reward (if wanted) for succesful integration, not the other way around. Basically all of the old main parties somehow didn't have that common sense, that's one of the main reasons, why a new right wing party is growing to be the biggest. I would never vote them, because they don't have a real plan how to solve the problems, but just a new party formed the BSW that I'll vote for.

Mosques, temples, synagogues and churches have been built for centuries by religious minorities all over the world, and on the whole the native populations have not had any problem whatsoever with it. The problem now is religious extremism which isn't an automatic result of building a place of worship or keeping dietary rules.

I'm going to give my perspective as an immigrant, I'm Chilean and I live in Brazil, I came here as a child for the first time in 1970. I'm also going to give my impression of what's happening in Chile right now. There are bad and good people in every group, and this is a truth that must always be considered! Immigrants have a tendency to seek out and have contact with others of the same nationality, maintaining a cultural bond, but... the immigrant must incorporate himself into the country that welcomed him, understand and accept the local culture, and not want to impose his or her culture (otherwise it is better to return to your country or look for a country with a similar culture). Immigrants should not have the right to vote or be political candidates... I don't consider it right, as there is no guarantee that an immigrant will not try to apply laws that favor their beliefs or their country of origin. Immigrants who do not respect local laws must be deported...! Why do I say all this? Precisely because there are good immigrants who want to work, to be useful to the country that welcomes them, and there are bad immigrants who are criminals or just going to enjoy the advantages that the country offers. I'm not saying that you can't help people, including immigrants, but you have to analyze whether you're really an honest person going through a bad time, or whether you're just someone who tries to take advantage of good citizens. Chile is currently going through a similar situation, with a large population of immigrants (many irregular) who consume State resources and do not contribute to anything... In the north of Chile, prisons contain more than 50% of immigrants, and in Chile, prisoners are not forced to work... The vast majority of land invaders, who demand their own homes, are immigrants... The Chilean State offers everything, but many immigrants believe it is their right to demand and gain all possible benefits, including houses. The big problem is that a society needs people who contribute, and who add behaviors and resources for the well-being of everyone. If a group just gains without giving anything (or very little), the weight falls on those who make an effort. Another point that has not been discussed is ideological, there is migration of people who want to destroy economic systems, cultures, and nations! There is a video of Venezuelan immigrants who call themselves "destroyers of democracies"

I am a Turkish electrical and electronic engineer living in Sweden. Before coming here, I waited for almost 6 months for the migration process. However, it is very disheartening that skilled workers like us go through these processes, while the country accepts 163,000 refugees in a year without any checks, which can undoubtedly alter the demographic structure.
As a result, I came to Sweden and work here as an engineer. I pay my taxes, cover my rent, and spend my earned salary back in this country.
I love and respect the Swedish people, their culture, and rules. It's essential to acknowledge and respect them!
However, opening their doors to all countries at the time is one of the reasons for the current crime rates and economic issues...

It pains every sense of humanity i posses. Absolutely new level of kindness being mixed for stupidity. I am sorry for you Sweden you dont deserve this. I moved to Sweden from England in the mid-1980s. Sweden was an absolute paradise then. Swedish people were friendly and welcoming. The immigrant groups back then were mainly from Finland, Chile, Italy, Turkey and Yugoslavia. Most of us got along fine with each other. Integration was never a big problem. As foreigners and guests in Sweden, we all appreciated the high standard of living, and everything that was good about living here. As a foreigner It just felt right to work and pay taxes into a system that everybody benefitted from.
Unfortunately, many of the refugees and immigrants that have recently come to Sweden don't feel this sense of solidarity. They don't want to integrate and have little, or no interest in learning about Swedish culture, values and traditions. This naturally leaves them alienated. Many also have an attitude of entitlement. They expect the Swedish welfare system to take responsibilty for their needs, even though they have never contributed anything towards the welfare system.
They would do well to understand that they have been given an opportunity to start new lives in Sweden. My advise to them would be to integrate and be thankful you are here. Instead of turning Sweden into a living hell, learn from earlier Immigrant groups who chose to fit in, and were prepared to help make Sweden a very good place to live.

Sweden has never been safer. The same amount of people in % are dying because of violence as in the 90s.
Most causes of deadly violence has decreased. You´d have a much higher risk of dying in a robbery in almost every other year since the 90s. Or getting killed by your spouse-
Young men in general are less deadly since the 90s, towards both genders.
Immigrants are not the primary suspects for shootings, most of them are darn grateful,
The majority of perpetrators of deadly shootings is Swedish born citizens median age 25, with one or two immigrant parents.
It usually happens in low income areas, and there have been revenge shootings. But an astounding amount of perpetrators of deadly shootings, say its because of "self defence". because they were scared the other person was gonna shot them first.
Statisticly your sons would be in that high risk category of becoming a criminal... I hope you don´t live in a low income area...
It´s a social problem, with ostracization of immigrants that has caused their children to feel like outsiders in the country they were born in.
50% of deadly shootings today are criminals killing other members of other criminal groups.

Sweden is example of country who we must learn to improve our management of big mass of migrants

It's not something that can be learned, it will never get back to what it used to be. The reason Sweden was successful was that only Swedes lived there with the same values as everyone else. People who didn't abuse the welfare system, for instance. Who value working hard. Working together to make a strong society. When different groups of people live there with different values, it becomes impossible. Government assistance becomes something that helped out well meaning people to being an unsustainable detriment to workers. Foreigners brought in have no reason not to abuse the system because they have no stake in it and never had a stake in it, assuming they didn't just go to Sweden to abuse it to begin with. This is why the same programs in the US dramatically backfire and are hated by at least half the people, when there is no integration or care for the existing culture and society, social programs can't have positive outcomes because they favor the parasitic and eventually, the entire government is solely ran by parasites, every business is ran by parasites and it's a contest to loot as much as possible from the dying husk of the nation. You're lucky that it might be stopped in Sweden at only 12%, that's recoverable. You're not a dead nation yet like the US or Canada.

There is no way to manage big mass of immigrants. There must be set a cap, like no more than 1% of total population of immigrans can the enter country in a year.

Decent reporting. I would have loved it if you went more into how the increased liberalisation for the last 40 ish years have contributed greatly to the issue as well as the increasing wealth gap.
