A sign in my area on a road read, "road wet when raining." They changed it to," water on road when raining".
Since it was a construction site, I think they meant they had to temporarily block the drains for the construction, so water would pool up on the road when it rained, but they just couldn't figure out how to say it.

The sign at 1:57 in Greek (ΘΥΜΗΣΟΥ is pronounced thee-me-so) and English has an interesting story behind it. Apparently, it's an artwork (a series of ten road signs) installed as part of the 2022 exhibition "Micro-stories of a Mutable Landscape" on the island of Ios. The main objective of this is to get locals to remember what Ios used to be before uncontrolled privatization of large areas, and catch the attention of visitors alike as well, with the need to protect the natural and cultural heritage of the island.

By right the sign 小心滑落 translates to something like 'be careful/mindful of slipping' and if you can wrap your head around translation errors you can see how this headed that direction.
Another iteration of this is ‘小心地滑’ where the translation to 'slip carefully' actually makes complete sense. 地 in this context refers to the ground, and 滑 refers to the adjective 'slippery'. But depending on how you use the words, 地 can mean 'in this manner, like this' and 滑 can also be used as a verb, i.e. 'to slip'. So essentially with 小心 meaning be careful/carefully (again, depending on how you use the word) you end up with, instead of
'小心'(be careful)'地'(the floor)'滑'(is slippery)
You get
'小心'(carefully)'地'(in this manner)'滑'(slip)
Anyway, even if it's a bad translation, if you slip carefully, you wouldn't get hurt either.

As a transitive verb, it means to excuse. As a pronominal verb, “disculparse”, it means to apologize, literally to excuse oneself.
