I swear to god that I never saw the last 3 minutes of this movie starting from when the spirit of spring wins the contest so I never found out for like 20+ years at least what ever happened to Aesop! I can not BELIEVE that your VHS started skipping at exactly the same point and thought the universe was going to troll me forever and then it fixed! And the ending is so happy he finds his dang mom and gets to marry that flower elf chick! All is right with the world man... all. is. right. at. last.
gsimon123 I know how you feel man. In Nigeria, when i was a kid, my folks got me the bootlegged vhs tapes of most of the classic Disney movies and let's just say the viewing experience was great, but quite lacking. Heck, the version of Hercules I got was entirely in Mandarin 😂
Given this dub was handled by Peter Fernandez, it's pretty obvious Corrine Orr does some, if not most of the female characters in this. I think the voice of Aesop is Lionel Wilson. This would also the last of Toei's animated features they use to do quite a lot during the 60's and 70's based on classic literature. Others from the early 80's include "Swan Lake" and "Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp".

I have looked for this version forever. The old vhs I have wont play in my vcr anymore. It amazes me that in this internet based world I couldnt find it anywhere to buy. Anyway you could possibly share the file for download?

I only wished it could've been a bit longer so that there could've been an epilogue or an extra scene that shows what happened to Aesop and his new friends after returning to Aesop's home! By the time the movie ended, it became quite clear that Aesop and that girl had a relationship going. As for the Country Mouse and the donkey, Aesop would have to slowly and carefully introduce them, too, to his mom and then after awhile, have them reveal that they could talk and think like humans and tell their side of the story, where they came from and how they joined Aesop on his journey to return home!

I don't want to say this sucked. Bit it certainly picked up more debris than a brand new Shop-Vac! My kids love animals and they adore cartoons...tey both got up and went to their bedroom about 15 minutes in...nothing against anyone wjo did enjoy this but...there is no accounting for taste.
