    really cool, I just passed my test I go to MEPS next Thursday I want to go under as a 68T Animal Care Specialist or 68R Veterinary Food Inspection Specialist. I'm going to retake my test in 3 weeks so I'm in the program either for the 09M program or either the 100 applicant pilot program, the goal is to become a veterinarian but I want to specialize in zoological medicine. now I can't decide if I want to be a vet in the civilian world or in the army but I still have time to think on it. looking at years of school approximately 8years of school plus what ever I want to specialize in.

      The veterinary Food inspection isn't really veterinary, watch their video about it. It's mostly human grade food inspection

      ALL jobs in the 68 series, like this one, have their advanced individual training at Fort Sam Houston, in Texas.

      @@emilyharvey7302 How are you enjoying your MOS?

    • @emilyharvey7302
      @emilyharvey7302 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@kingc3273 honestly I love the job, it’s great, I’m currently with a clinic, work with personally owned animals (POAs/Civilian pets), Military Working Dogs(MWDs), handle bite reports from the hospital, etc. i reclassed from a combat MOS, and while I definitely miss the combat life style in the army, I absolutely love my job. If I’m able, I would love to mix the two, and go to a combat unit with my new job, so that’s my next goal after this contract- it would be perfect for me. With the clinic, I never have to do CQ or Staff Duty, we do PT on our own a lot which is nice, butttt there is a lot that helps make the clinic run. Depending on where you go, you could be the NCOIC of a clinic as young as a PFC/SPC/CPL - if you’re reclassing, definitely recommend going to an Air Force Base, I hear it’s extremely laid back if that’s what you’re into. Marines is uptight, and Army is also uptight on the clinic side, but it’s not bad. It’s just, for me, different than what I’m used to- going from regular army combat, to support army and working on the clinical side and working at a desk a lot
