Thank you Lord for sending me to another country at my young age. When I was younger my only dream was about Kerala not even about another Indian state. The thought of leaving my native land was heartbreaking for me. But as I grew up slowly slowly I understood that this land doesn’t need me or deserve me. Even though I was good in my education I realized that getting a decent job will never be possible. I don’t have any quota, No sports quota, no political quota, no religious quota, no caste quota, or whatever quota, you name it. So I was compelled to choose nursing as my career even though I didn’t like it much then. So after finishing my graduation in nursing, I left my home land with a great pain in my heart. However, when I look back I am so thankful to my Lord for bringing me to the country where I live now. I live in a western country for more than 16 years. I have my religious freedom, I have gender equality, I get appreciation for the work I do, I feel like a human after coming to this country. I don’t need to call “sir” each and every “boss” in my workplace. I have my own identity. They never put me back because of the fact that I am a “foreigner”. I am so happy and proud that these all are possible because this country is built up on Christian principles. The Bible says that “all human are created equal”. Yes that is my great joy. Here there is no Brahmin, Nair, Christian, Muslim, Chandalan, Ezhava, etc. We are all humans. Today, I thank my Lord Jesus Christ for sending me here. Yes, I am His child and he is leading me and directing my footsteps!! May the Lord change Kerala and India!!

The actual reasons for Syrian Christians development are: 1) Hard working nature 2) The superior mental makeup given by the realization that they are God’s children and are inferior to none. That gave them great confidence to fight out any adverse situations 3) The emphasis on education fueled by the missionaries and church organizations 4) The support of church fraternity and fellowship with church groups 5) Above all, the abundant grace and love of the living god.

ഇന്ന് നമ്മൾ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന മലയാളം അച്ചടി റെവ. ബെഞ്ചമിൻ ബെയ്ലി ഉണ്ടാക്കി, ആദ്യമായി സ്ത്രീകൾക്കുള്ള പള്ളിക്കൂടോം, പള്ളിക്കൂടം എല്ലാ ജാതി മതസ്ഥസ്ഥർക്കും വേണ്ടിയായിരുന്നു .ആദ്യത്തെ കോളേജ് ഒക്കെ ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ സഭകളുടെ സംഭാവനയാണ്. വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ലഭിച്ചപ്പോൾ കേരളത്തിന് പുറത്തും ജോലി സാധ്യത ഉണ്ടെന്നു മനസിലാക്കി അവിടേക്കു ചേക്കേറി. പുറം ദേശങ്ങളുമായുള്ള സമ്പർക്കം അവരിൽ പുതിയ ആശയങ്ങളും കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകളും ഉണ്ടാക്കി. ഈ പുരോഗമന ചിന്തയാണ് ക്രിസ്ടിയാനികളെ ഉന്നതിയിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ സാധിച്ചത്.
താങ്കൾ പറയുന്ന ഈ സമൂഹം അടുത്ത മേച്ചിൽ പുറം തേടി യാത്ര തുടങ്ങി, പണ്ട് വയനാട്, ഇടുക്കി തുടങ്ങിയ മലയോര മേഖല എങ്കിൽ ഇന്ന് യൂറോപ്പ്, ക്യാനഡ, ഓസ്ട്രേലിയ,.. തുടങ്ങിയ രാജ്യമാണ് ലക്ഷ്യം, ഞാൻ താമസിക്കുന്ന ഒരു 5 കിലോമീറ്റർ ചുറ്റളവിൽ ഒരു മാസം കുറഞ്ഞത് 3 കുട്ടികൾ എങ്കിലും രാജ്യം വിടുന്നു.പിന്നെ ഏത് രാജ്യത്ത് ചെന്നലും അവിടെ എല്ലാം നല്ല ജീവിത നിലവാരത്തിൽ എത്താൻ സാധിക്കുന്നുണ്ട് എന്നത് സന്തോഷം നൽകുന്ന കാര്യം ആണ്, കേരളത്തിൽ ഇനി നിന്നിട്ട് കാര്യമില്ല ,ക്യഷി ലാഭകരം അല്ല , വ്യവസായങ്ങളുടെ അഭാവം, രാഷ്ട്രയ അതിപ്രസരം, അഴിമതി,സംവരണം ഉൾപ്പടെ ഒന്നും കിട്ടാനില്ല,
ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ള കാരണം അവരുടെ ഉള്ളിലുള്ള ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ദര്ശനങ്ങളാണ്. അവർ ഏതു രാജ്യത്തുപോയാലും രാജ്യനിയമങ്ങളെ അനുസരിക്കുന്ന അനുസരണയുള്ള പൗരന്മാരായിരിക്കും . നിന്നെപ്പോലെ നിന്റെ അയൽക്കാരനെ സ്നേഹിക്കുവാനാണ് ക്രിസ്തു പഠിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.

Another point to remember is Christins are religious but not overtly religious. They balance religion and practicality. Another point is giving education to girls.

Education is the number one reason. Plus the principles of Christ gives individual freedom and personal worth regardless of his colour or caste that enables a person to work hard to support his family, church and community. Christian Nations are biggest charity givers in the world. Christ taught to love your neighbor, regardless of others religion. So they started schools, hospitals, old age homes etc..that benefited Christians as well as others.

@Lion King 👑🙏👍 I am also a lower category person. But I am happy that I belonged to India and a Hindu also.. I will not consider myself as a lower category person. I thought of myself as a good Indian. I got that type of education and awareness from my parents. They instilled good qualities like , patriotism to us , two siblings. So I am a proud Indian first. Very enlightening episode. I am a Marunadan malayalee. The friendly attitude of all Malayalees irrespective of religious affiliation towards each other has been remarkable. We happily celebrate Onam and Christmas together like one family.
I am a catholic from kottayam ,palai diocese. Now I am 62 year old U S citizen. I didn't get even 1 cent from my parents. My neighbor in kerala is a Hindu family very rich.But i love my parents, neighbors and everyone. My savior is Jesus Christ who taught me love, forgive & the importance of charity in the form of food,water,shelter etc...God will bless us.
I am a proud Christian! Due to Christian missionaries, Kerala has high rate of education. Government also helped bring education but credit goes to Christian missionaries mainly. We concentrate on education, hard work, tolerance with others and belief in God. That is why Christians and Europeans have quality life. We dont encourage terrorism. Even though Westerners mostly are etheist nowadays, they still embrace the humanity taught by Jesus. Otherwise they couldn't accept the refugees from other countries. We are not selfish. Proud to be a Christian and love my Jesus so much.

In Syrian Christians most educated and migrated community are csi madhyakerala diocese and marthoma Syrian community. You can see them in esp tiruvalla pathanamthitta region. Most of them had education three four generations back and migrated early esp to us and uk.

Are you sure about Syrian Christians getting land due to EMS’s land reforms? I think the Syrian Christians were land owners traditionally even before and lost their land due to land ceiling. At least in central Kerala, many syrian christian families I know faced it. At the same time, many syrian christian families involved in cash crops (rubber) could retain their land since cash crops were exempted from the reforms. Such as in Kottayam district.

(70 വർഷത്തിനുള്ളിലെ ചരിത്രമല്ലേ) അങ്ങിനെ ഒന്ന് ഓർമയിൽ ഇല്ല. ഏതായാലും മദ്ധ്യ തിരുവിതാംകൂറിൽ നടന്നതായി കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല. ഇ . എം. എസിൻ്റെ കാലത്ത് പുതിയതായി ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾക്ക് ഭൂമി ലഭിച്ചതായി കാണുന്നില്ല. ചിലപ്പോൾ കുടികിടപ്പവകാശം കിട്ടിക്കാണും. അതിൽ സുറിയാനി ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾ കാണുകയില്ലല്ലോ?
ചേട്ടാ ഭൂമി ക്രിസ്ത്യാനി കളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നത് ശരി പക്ഷേ അത് ഏകദേശം ഏല്ലാം തന്നെ പട്ട ഭൂമി ആയിരുന്നു. അത് ഇവിടെത്തെ ജാതി, അയിത്തം എന്നിവ കൊണ്ട് കൃഷിതൊഴിലാളി കളെ പണി എടുപ്പിക്കുവാൻ നായർ മിനക്കേടാതെ ഭൂമി ക്രിസ്തിയാനികൾക്ക് പാട്ടം കൊടുത്തു. അത് ഭൂപരിഷ്ക്കരണം കൊണ്ട് ജന്മം ആയി കിട്ടി. അല്ലാതെ ഉള്ള ഭൂമികൾ കൂടുതലും അന്നത്തെ ധാന്യ കൃഷി ചെയ്യാത്ത വനം പോലുള്ള ഭൂമി ആയിരുന്നു പണ്ട് അത്തരം ഭൂമി ആർക്കും വേണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
പിന്നെ നായർ ക്ക് ഭൂമി കിട്ടിയത് നമ്പൂതിരി വഴി ആണ്. കേരളത്തിൽ നമ്പൂതിരിമാർ കൃഷി പഞ്ചാഗം അനുസരിച്ചു ശാസ്ത്രീയ നെൽ കൃഷി ആരംഭിക്കുന്ന വരെ ഇവിടെ ഭൂമി territory മാത്രം ആയിരുന്നു സ്വത്ത് അല്ലായിരുന്നു. കൃഷി യോഗ്യമായ ഭൂമി മുഴുവൻ ശരിയായ നെൽകൃഷി അറിയാമായിരുന്ന നമ്പൂതിരി മാർ 6 ആം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ കേരളത്തിൽ 32 ഗ്രാമങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു അവരുടെ വരുതിയിൽ കൊണ്ട് വന്നു. അത് സൂചിപ്പിക്കുnnathaa പരശുരാമ കഥ. പിന്നീടാണ് ഇവിടെ ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥാപിച്ചു ദേവസ്വം സ്വത്തുക്കളും നമ്പൂതിരിക്ക് ദാസ്യ വേല ചെയ്ത നായർ ക്ക് സ്വത്തുക്കളും ലഭിച്ചത്.

ഇതിൽ ഒരു തെറ്റുണ്ട്.... ഇഎംഎസ് ഭൂപരിഷ്കരണ മൂലം സുറിയാനി ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾക്ക് ഭൂമി കിട്ടിയിട്ടില്ല... തെക്കൻ മലബാറിൽ ആയിരുന്നു കൂടുതൽ ഭൂമി കിട്ടിയത്..പാടപ്രദേശമേഖലയിൽ.അത് ഈഴവ-മുസ്ളിം കമ്യൂണിറ്റിക്കാണ്.. .1931 ലെ തിരുവിതാംകൂർ സെൻസസ് പ്രകാരം തിരുവിതാംകൂറിൽ ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ആളോഹരി ഭൂമി ഉണ്ടായീരുന്നത് സുറിയാനി ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾക്ക് ആണ് (ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ).. സുറിയാനി ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾ ഭൂരിപക്ഷം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന മീനച്ചിൽ താലൂക്കിൽ ആയിരുന്നു ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ജിഡിപി പേർ ക്യാപിറ്റ,, ജിഡിപി കൂടുതൽ തിരുവല്ല താലൂക്കിൽ.... .1865 ലെ പണ്ടാരവകപാട്ടവിളംബരം മൂലം സുറിയാനി ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾക്ക് തങ്ങൾ പാട്ടമായി വച്ചിരുന്ന ഭൂമി സ്വന്തമായി ലഭിക്കുവാൻ തുടങ്ങി.... .. അതുപോലെ ആ വിളംബരത്തെ തുടർന്നു നായർക്ക് സ്വന്തമായി കിട്ടിയ സർക്കാർ ഭൂമികൾ വാങ്ങാനും കഴിഞ്ഞും.. ഭൂമി ക്രയവിക്രയത്തിന് നിയമപരമായ സാധുത വന്ന ആ ഘട്ടത്തിൽ,, മലക്ക് ചരക്ക് കച്ചവടക്കാരായ സുറിയാനി ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾ കച്ചവടത്തിൽ നിന്നും ലഭിച്ച പണം ഉപയോഗിച്ച് നായരുടെ ഭൂമി വാങ്ങികൂട്ടുകയും ചെയ്തും(1865-1930 ൽ)........

മാത്യു സാർ, അങ്ങയുടെ അവലോകനം വസ്തുനിഷ്ടമാണ്. പക്ഷേ ഒരുകാര്യം വിട്ടുപോയി. രണ്ടാം ലോക മഹായുദ്ധ കാലത്ത് തിരുവിതാംകൂറിൽ കടുത്ത ഭക്ഷ്യ ക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായി. തിരുവിതാംകൂർ രാജാവ് ഹൈ റേഞ്ച്ലേക്ക് കുടിയേറാൻ വിളംബരം പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു. രാജാവിന്റെ അധീനതയിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഭൂമിയിൽ കൃഷി ഭൂമി ആക്കുന്നവർക്ക് പട്ടയം നൽകുമെന്ന് വാഗ്നാനം ചെയ്തു. ധാരാളം കർഷകർ കുടിയേറി. കൃഷിയിറക്കി. തിരുവിതാംകൂറിനെ പട്ടിണി മരണത്തിൽ നിന്നു രക്ഷിച്ചു. കർഷകർ ഭൂരിപക്ഷവും സുറിയാനി ക്രൈസ്തവർ ആയിരുന്നു. (സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം കിട്ടിയശേഷം പുതിയ രാജാക്കന്മാർ പഴയ രാജാവിന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ ലംഘിച്ചു. ഇതാണ് പട്ടയ പ്രശ്നം ). പിന്നീട് ഭാഷ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ ആയിരിക്കും സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ മുൻകൂട്ടി മനസ്സിലാക്കിയ രാജാവ് ഹൈറൈഞ്ചിലേക്കു കുടിയേറാൻ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചു. പട്ടയം വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തു. അന്ന് കർഷകർ കുടിയറിയില്ലായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ ഇടുക്കി ജില്ല മൊത്തം തമിഴ്നാട്ടിൽ ലേയ്പ്പിച്ചേനെ. Thank you Lord for sending me to another country at my young age. When I was younger my only dream was about Kerala not even about another Indian state. The thought of leaving my native land was heartbreaking for me. But as I grew up slowly slowly I understood that this land doesn’t need me or deserve me. Even though I was good in my education I realized that getting a decent job will never be possible. I don’t have any quota, No sports quota, no political quota, no religious quota, no caste quota, or whatever quota, you name it. So I was compelled to choose nursing as my career even though I didn’t like it much then. So after finishing my graduation in nursing, I left my home land with a great pain in my heart. However, when I look back I am so thankful to my Lord for bringing me to the country where I live now. I live in a western country for more than 16 years. I have my religious freedom, I have gender equality, I get appreciation for the work I do, I feel like a human after coming to this country. I don’t need to call “sir” each and every “boss” in my workplace. I have my own identity. They never put me back because of the fact that I am a “foreigner”. I am so happy and proud that these all are possible because this country is built up on Christian principles. The Bible says that “all human are created equal”. Yes that is my great joy. Here there is no Brahmin, Nair, Christian, Muslim, Chandalan, Ezhava, etc. We are all humans. Today, I thank my Lord Jesus Christ for sending me here. Yes, I am His child and he is leading me and directing my footsteps!! May the Lord change Kerala and India!!

Your observation that Syrian christians were benefited from land reforms is not correct. They were land owners even before and some of them lost heavily due to the reforms of E M S. But they survived as the so called reforms did not affect the rubber and cash crop plantations owned by Syrian christians. The actual beneficiaries of the land reforms are the Ezhava community in Palghat and elsewher who were cultivating land owned by powerful Nair community.

The most successful Syrian Christian communities are 1. CSI Syrians, who were able to early access English education, 2. Marthoma Syrians , 3. Orthodox / Jacobite Syrians, 4. Syro Malabar catholics in terms of population percentage. The central travencore Syrians consisting of mar thoma Syrians and orthodox Syrians were the pioneers in migration to western and eastern countries. Even though the catholics had many institutions they lagged behind due to large numbers of new converts.

Thank you Lord for sending me to another country at my young age. When I was younger my only dream was about Kerala not even about another Indian state. The thought of leaving my native land was heartbreaking for me. But as I grew up slowly slowly I understood that this land doesn’t need me or deserve me. Even though I was good in my education I realized that getting a decent job will never be possible. I don’t have any quota, No sports quota, no political quota, no religious quota, no caste quota, or whatever quota, you name it. So I was compelled to choose nursing as my career even though I didn’t like it much then. So after finishing my graduation in nursing, I left my home land with a great pain in my heart. However, when I look back I am so thankful to my Lord for bringing me to the country where I live now. I live in a western country for more than 16 years. I have my religious freedom, I have gender equality, I get appreciation for the work I do, I feel like a human after coming to this country. I don’t need to call “sir” each and every “boss” in my workplace. I have my own identity. They never put me back because of the fact that I am a “foreigner”. I am so happy and proud that these all are possible because this country is built up on Christian principles. The Bible says that “all human are created equal”. Yes that is my great joy. Here there is no Brahmin, Nair, Christian, Muslim, Chandalan, Ezhava, etc. We are all humans. Today, I thank my Lord Jesus Christ for sending me here. Yes, I am His child and he is leading me and directing my footsteps!! May the Lord change Kerala and India!!

ഞങളുടെ നാട്ടിൽ പണ്ട് ഒരാള് മതം മാറി ചാക്കോ ആയി. ശെരി ആയ പേര് കുട്ടപ്പൻ. ഏതോ പാതിരി ആകാം, കുറെ സഹായിക്കാം എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു കുട്ടപ്പൻ്റെ വീട്ടുകാരെ കുറച്ചു milk powder , maida pody ഒക്കെ ആദ്യം കൊടുത്തു. കൊടുക്കാം എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ കാശു മുഴുവൻ കൊടുത്തില്ല. കുട്ടപ്പൻ ചോദിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒക്കെ പാതിരി ഓരോ excuse പറയും. മൂന്ന് മാസമോ മറ്റോ കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ കുട്ടപ്പൻ പാതിരി കൊടുത്ത ചില ഡ്രസ്സ് and കുരിശു മാല പൊട്ടിച്ചു, രണ്ടും കൂടെ പാതിരിയുടെ വീട്ടിലേക്ക് വലിച്ചെറിഞ്ഞു കൊടുത്തു നല്ല പുഴുത്ത ചീത്തയും വിളിച്ചു അയാളുടെ ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ വന്നു , ഞാൻ തിരിച്ചു പോന്നു. കാരണം പറഞ്ഞത് ഭയങ്കര ശക്തി ഉണ്ടു എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ പാതിരിയുടെ ദൈവത്തിനു കുറച്ചു കാശു പോലും ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. അ കഴിവ് പോലും ഇല്ലാത്ത ഒരു ദൈവത്തിനു വേണ്ടി ഞാൻ എന്തിനാണ് മതം മാറുന്നത് എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു പോലും.
പിന്നെ കുറെ നാളത്തേക്ക് നാട്ടുകാർ അയാളെ കുട്ടപ്പൻ ചാക്കോ എന്ന് കളിയാക്കി വിളിച്ചിരുന്നു. 🤣😀

4) The support of church fraternity and fellowship with church groups
5) Above all, the abundant grace and love of the living god.

I am a proud Christian! Due to Christian missionaries, Kerala has high rate of education. Government also helped bring education but credit goes to Christian missionaries mainly. We concentrate on education, hard work, tolerance with others and belief in God. That is why Christians and Europeans have quality life. We dont encourage terrorism. Even though Westerners mostly are etheist nowadays, they still embrace the humanity taught by Jesus. Otherwise they couldn't accept the refugees from other countries. We are not selfish. In Syrian Christians most educated and migrated community are csi madhyakerala diocese and marthoma Syrian community. You can see them in esp tiruvalla pathanamthitta region. Most of them had education three four generations back and migrated early esp to us and uk.
They have a history before the arrival of the british cms missionaries in 1810, find out.
Marthoma is a Syrian church they are the most advanced in Syrian community

Are you sure about Syrian Christians getting land due to EMS’s land reforms? I think the Syrian Christians were land owners traditionally even before and lost their land due to land ceiling. At least in central Kerala, many syrian christian families I know faced it. At the same time, many syrian christian families involved in cash crops (rubber) could retain their land since cash crops were exempted from the reforms. Such as in Kottayam district.

Thank you Lord for sending me to another country at my young age. When I was younger my only dream was about Kerala not even about another Indian state. The thought of leaving my native land was heartbreaking for me. But as I grew up slowly slowly I understood that this land doesn’t need me or deserve me. Even though I was good in my education I realized that getting a decent job will never be possible. I don’t have any quota, No sports quota, no political quota, no religious quota, no caste quota, or whatever quota, you name it. So I was compelled to choose nursing as my career even though I didn’t like it much then. So after finishing my graduation in nursing, I left my home land with a great pain in my heart. However, when I look back I am so thankful to my Lord for bringing me to the country where I live now. I live in a western country for more than 16 years. I have my religious freedom, I have gender equality, I get appreciation for the work I do, I feel like a human after coming to this country. I don’t need to call “sir” each and every “boss” in my workplace. I have my own identity. They never put me back because of the fact that I am a “foreigner”. I am so happy and proud that these all are possible because this country is built up on Christian principles. The Bible says that “all human are created equal”. Yes that is my great joy. Here there is no Brahmin, Nair, Christian, Muslim, Chandalan, Ezhava, etc. We are all humans. Today, I thank my Lord Jesus Christ for sending me here. Yes, I am His child and he is leading me and directing my footsteps!! May the Lord change Kerala and India!!

Your observation that Syrian christians were benefited from land reforms is not correct. They were land owners even before and some of them lost heavily due to the reforms of E M S. But they survived as the so called reforms did not affect the rubber and cash crop plantations owned by Syrian christians.
The actual beneficiaries of the land reforms are the Ezhava community in Palghat and elsewher who were cultivating land owned by powerful Nair community.

It is inaccurate to say that most Christians got their lands from Nairs after land reforms. Many people from all communities lost and gained lands from others. Syriac Christians as a group actually lost more lands than they gained.

Now agriculture is not viable commercially, opportunities within state are limited and moreover younger generations wants better life style. Hence they move out of state selling out land properties.

Jesus's teachings are complete for faith and old Bible is the biblical history and the character studies of many people. It's great for deepening your faith. You can see good and bad side of people but no changes in God's words. Those are everlasting.
