Happy spring to you! I actually grew these in containers for a few months before I decided to put them in the ground. I’m sure yours will be beautiful! Mine bloomed their hearts out!
They flushed out well in spring. Right now they don’t look as great due to the heat of summer. They had black spot fairly bad this summer and I had to strip and cut back the plant again.
We’re in vista, California. Its march 28th. Is it too late to trim my iceberg roses like you show? They’re about 6 month old and are looking leggie. I do see some fungal black spots on some of the plants. I’ve planed about10 bushes 2 feet apart to form a somewhat hedge. Any advise would be great. As you know we’ve had a lot of rain.
I’m sure all that rain is not helping black spot any. I actually had to cut mine back last year in summer because they had gotten so bad looking with black spot and stress. They pushed new growth even then. Not as vigorous as if they had been coming back from winter, but they still pushed new. I also moved a rose in the middle of summer last year (a knock out) and cut it back and defoliated it when I did. It flushed new growth also. They are quite tougher than what you think. I’m not an expert by any means but this has been my experience. If you haven’t trimmed them at all this year and you need to I think you’ll be fine.
@@OfftoShambala it’s ok. I didn’t completely trim mine back as much as you did, but did the best I could. One question. When you see a big stem come up from the soil like a sucker (I don’t know if roses have those) what do you do. Keep it or cut it low? Thanks!
Adorable cat!
Thank you!!! She’s my sweet princess!
I just purchase 2 iceberg roses, I hope they will do well in a pots! Happy spring 2022, greetings from Houston 🌿

I just gave my clients icebergs a 50% prune back in May … I don’t know what I’m doing either. I’m crossing my fingers.
I have found it’s hard to do it wrong. They like to be pruned and will come back. I’m sure you did great.
can you do an update video I would like to see the progress of the pruning you did here on this one. Thanks

I actually have an update video I made when they started to bloom. It’s called Iceberg Roses First flush post pruning.

How did your late spring pruning go with your icebergs?
