Unfortunately, Korg's DWGS synths were heavily overshadowed by the success of the DX-7 in the mid-80s. The mix of analog and digital was very powerful. Even today I'm still surprised by the characterful sounds that DWGS synthesis produces :)
You may also want to check out Full Bucket's Tricent (Korg Trident) and the latest addition - Oxid (it's ARP emulation, for a change). Both are totally fantastic.
Wonderful Patches but Download link? I totally understand if you want to keep them private, but it would help you grow the channel and give visibility to that beautiful track called Mary's Letter!!
Unfortunately I haven't created enough patches to justify a download link. But if you're interested in the sounds, contact me via my bandcamp page. I would be happy to send you the presets via your email address :)
I see that the DX7 E.Piano patch is not the (already good sounding) stock preset but a modified version of yours (at least according to the name of your patch). What exactly did you modify on it?
The good thing about the FB-7999 is that all parameters can be set on the surface without double assignment. All the parameters can be seen in the video, so you can compare the patch very precisely with other sounds.
@@pixelorb I actually hoped for a short and quick answer... 😂But yes, you are right...that's a nice way to find it out by myself. Ok, I will watch it again with resolution set to 1080p in full screen mode and take a screenshot. Thanks. 🙂
i once had one of these.. sounds exactly like the real thing!
God Bless the full bucket guy. I've downloaded like 5 of his synths emulations and everything is amazing. Really really inspiring
Yes, that's right. Some of the synths sound exceptionally good 🙂
I had the Korg 6000 when they were new. I think they made some of the prettiest synth sounds I ever heard.
I subbed after your preset and melody at 1:42 😮
Thanks a lot 🙂
I must say these patches have strongly changed my view on this particular synth. Thank you and thanks to Bjorn Arlt
Thank you very much for the great comment and my thanks also go to Bjorn Arit for creating this great softsynth :)
Korg Dw8000 is MY hardware synth since 1984. Great video, thanks
I'm glad you like it. Many thanks :)
That sound at 2:51 is so familiar but simultaneously I know I've never heard it before. That's the power of the DW.

Хороший синтезатор и музыкант хорошо играет
Приятно слушать
Спасибо за хороший комментарий :)
I used to work a lot the the Full Bucket Deputy synth. Awesome sounds!

Exceptional programming from Full Bucket
Really a great emulation of Korgs DWGS synthesis.
Great sounds really is about great programming. Also, love the musical motifs. Exceptional job!
Thank you so much for this compliment :)
Wonderful job and these two play nicely together!
Thank you so much :)
I would add, as an option, Fm, Sync and Ring modulator. With a button to hide them if we use it as the original...
Beautiful sounds!
Thank you 🙂
@2:25 pretty nice soundscape!!!
Many thanks :)
Great demo !
Thank you :)
ive got this vst now and i use valhalla super massiv is perfect match:)
This is a good emulation. Korg, Roland and Arturia should take notes. They either try to hard to sound Lofi or try to hard to sound modern.
I agree with that. In the 80s I had a DW-6000 and the emulation is very close to the original.

I tried to contact you via bandcamp, but couldn’t find the messaging option.

Niiiiice!!!
Thank you :)
The emulation is not gonna have the rich thick analog filter on it like the keyboard does...
