- This Bible study devotional covers Matthew chapters 24-25. In this passage we read about Jesus’ prediction about the temple’s destruction which, for his Jewish followers, would have been equated to the end of the world. Also, woven into this discussion are Jesus’ commands on how we should act knowing his return, at the end of the age, is imminent.
As always, we are committed to showing you how to see the good news of the Gospel in every passage of Scripture. In Matthew 24-25, we see that because Jesus could predict the destruction of the temple because when the temple of his body was destroyed on the cross he made an earthly temple unnecessary. We are now the temple of God, inhabited by the Holy Spirit.

1:35 Jesus gives a time line when these events will take place. "At the end of the Age" ---at the end of the Age of Pisces, that's right now. So, around 2012 you would see the rainbow, the pride, same sex marriages and transgender people coming out of the closet. So, Jesus did prophesied when these events would occur.

These scriptures tell me that in this age where everyone and everything is on line including churches, we the people are the church we the people should still be reading, studying, sharing, preparing more now than ever before. WE are God's church, waiting for Jesus to return and bring us together again.

This was truly a blessed message. It brought clarity to the depths of the story of the 10 virgins and what the parable is saying to us today. "We are not to be caught up with the lack of preparation of the brides, but in the return of the Bridegroom. Are we ready have we truly prepared for his coming. Great job.

Jesus is coming soon. When I look at the night sky and miss the stars I see Orion now realize how he looks like a man in heaven, like a hevenly father, and realize.... what if we're being watched, we might be the time of judgement.

There will be arguments till the stars quit shining in the sky about which signs are applied to what, but that is not the main point of the passage. The text emphasizes "mindset" and timing takes a backseat. Great job articulating this!
Jesus added in Luke 21 the reason to "watch"; he warned everyone to repent from sin, to "watch" and pray always to ESCAPE all the things that are coming to pass and stand before him. This is the rapture before the great tribulation.

The entirety of Mathew 24 happened in THAT generation. The end of the world was in the first century. Says so right here:
***For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once IN THE END OF THE WORLD hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
The "world" was the old covenant world. It all ended in AD70

that was great. also mathew 24-25 happened in the first century. he came a second time,, judged some people, raptured the remnant as reward for surviving Gods worse judgement on the Israelites in their entire history- 70ad- and gave birth to the new covenant. revelation 1-12 happened then too. revelation 13 is yet to happen. it is the star of david on israels flag as the mark of the beast. israel will issue the mark.
What's the point of eagerly awaiting when he already lives in you if you accepted in faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ don't we live in Him and he lives in US for those of you who are in Christ Jesus walk in the spirit of Truth you can see what others don't see when you walk in the spirit he pours out the spirit of the Living God in abundance for all those who wish to receive

My issue is in that Matthew chapter 24 Jesus seems to be addressing the disciples throughout, including his second coming. It really seems he predicted he would return soon, soon after the Destruction of the temple in AD 70. Verse 29 says 'immediately after the distress of those days' and goes on to speak about heavenly signs. It also entreats the disciples to watch for his coming. If his coming was over 2000 years in the future why say that? Yes, he says he doesn't know the hour or day, but it seems he says that so the disciples would be ready.
You are spot on! Jesus clearly speaks about the "end of the age" -- the age associated with the temple! The disciples weren't asking random questions, they were asking related questions. The end of the temple WAS the end of the age. It was the end of the Mosaic economy and the beginning of salvation by grace to all nations. Jesus returned with his spirit at Pentecost and now dwells inside of all believers. Every single "end times" prophecy spoke of and was fulfilled in the events surrounding the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70.

It is not the end of the world it is the end of the age to your research on the Greek words and don't just assume the Bible has translated it right. There were two ages this age and age to come these ages go with the covenant the current covenants and the covenant to come. If you understand Hebrew language and Hebrew thoughts there is no question that we are in the age to come. Please quit teaching a false word and do your research.
