Great job capturing the uniqueness of this trail. Looking into doing part of it next year. I believe those shelters come with firewood in the winter, so may try that! Keep on keeping on! 😎😎
Hey Fred! Thanks!! Yeah Oil Creek is a fantastic place to go. It's my favorite place so far... They have lots and lots of firewood and water. Usually 30 gallon tanks. If winter I suggest a tarp to help warm the adirondack enclosure and keep those temps warm! West side is more scenic. Also more challenging though. Godspeed brother.😁
RESTLESS OUTDOORS: Hey thanks man! I'm just getting started with my page. Highly appreciate the feedback. I watched your brecksville adventure and thought I'd check the place out soon. Laughed my rear end off. I'll make sure to not eat before the hike so I don't have to go number #2. Ha! Ha! Love your videos also! Can't wait to see more!!
Saw this channel on Outdoor Adventures live Q&A. Nice video. If you think coming down those switchbacks was bad. Going up them and listening to teenage son complain the whole time was horrible. Liked and Subscribed.
Marlowe Heredy Thank you for taking the time to watch my video. I'm so so glad you enjoyed it. I have two sons of my own not quite yet teens but I'm sure I'll find out how they will handle those hills soon enough! Im going to do a video about taking your kids backpacking. Can't wait Ha! Ha! Thx again!!
Really enjoyed the video! My buddy and I are planning an upcoming trip to oil creek. We are going to do the trail over 2 nights and 3 days. We plan to start out at the park office like you did and start on west side to wolf Kiel for day 1. From park office parking lot do you cross a bridge and road walk to get to the trail? How long is it to the trail and is it difficult to find? Thank you for any info willing to share!
Thx for watching Justin. Apparently there are places you can park all around oil creek. When you call the park office for a reservation, ask about parking. How ever if you plan on doing whole trail I recommend parking at the office. And yes I parked at the office and walked back across the bridge and up the road that runs parallel right next to bike towpath. Follow this road about a mile or 2 and it will take you to Benningoff farm. Trail entry will be right after railroad tracks on the right side. That's how I did it because I was staying at cow run and only wanted to do 5 miles the next day. If you are a Verizon customer you will have signal at cow run shelter site. Hope that helps! Happy Trails!!
