Small note about those Nightmare viruses: you mention that sword chips and/or Slashcross are needed to deal with them, but that's not technically the case. Falzar players can use tomahawkcross instead, as his charged shot is sword element. Specifically, the attack carries the properties of wood and sword damage at the same time. Antidamage itself also inflicts sword damage, though I wouldn't rely on it for nightmares. Also, the elemental sword chips, like elecsword, have similar behavior to tomahawkcross' charged shot, even though they don't technically list themselves as sword element. (They can also be charged for projectiles by Slashcross, but don't get attack+50 from it)
One aspect of the Battle Network games that truly bothers me is that almost every chip is very non-descript with what the chip ACTUALLY does in their small text boxes, like Judgeman being able to attack through an enemy's i-frames. Some chips do so much but you will never know unless you try the chip out for yourself, and the worst part is that, atleast from my experience, it is difficult to find resources online that elaborate on how each chip's ability behaves. This may be a tall ask, but something I would love is maybe a video series where you go over each chip class and showcase what it does and how it works. The way you described how chips work in this video was absolutely flawless and I'd thoroughly enjoy an entire series of it!
I didn't know about the requirement of 32 deleted viruses so that their rare variant has a chance to show up, all that time wasted save-scumming in the Judgetree comp for the RareCobCorn virus, I should have killed more corns. Excellent video, very informative.
This video + Legacy Collection Item Cards + Download Chips has me loving both my BN6 play through even more. Love it here. This video is 10/10. My folders are super solid now.
This was absolutely one of the best tip videos for this game I've seen yet! Incredibly detailed and the information was very concise and to the point. I cant wait to see more of your content helping us newbie MMBN players!
Just an FYI - For the Antisword * chip and the other 2 Netcafe Rewards, purchase coffee during the chapter that Iris gets captured. You will waste your money if you do it before then, trust me. But for some reason it seems to work during this chapter and it is towards the end of the game.
Another way to optimize the use of LocEnemy is to use Fish/OilBody/Jungle/Battery to get the encounter you want, then intentionally glitch it, by moving it out of the NaviCust window, so that you only glitch the Fish/OilBody/Jungle/Battery. This will cause an encounter bug, which will make you encounter enemies far more frequently. And since you used LocEnemy, the encounters are more likely to be the encounter you want to lock in. Very useful for farming GhostNavis or farming in-battle GMD.
Incredible, detailed video! You’ve earned a subscriber. Would love to see more content on Megaman battle network 6. Perhaps a best Navi customization build for PvE
I've been hoping for a video such as this :) I think a guide on cool patch card combos could be interesting, as well as explaining to people how they work in each game that has them since they're slightly different in each one.
The Guard3 * is a must. Even without the Collector,it's a 50% chance with S rank. all you need is a good folder, right after the navi who sells you the virus folder is available. I also made sure to farm some RareMettaur1 to grab some Guardl2* so I have double the shields too. This chip is super buffed in BN6.
for reflector * there is a way easier way to get it over use pithokey, Use the bass bx ereader card and enable buster max mode. Boost up the buster attack to 5 fine the virus and just press b once and everything dies without moving.
If you need to increase Encounter Rate, you just need to bug the encounter programs by placing them above command line(need to touch command line if you are aiming specific element of viruses)/outside the border(BN6 only)/place a same colour program next to it. This caused Encounter Bug, making you take more random battles with less step.
So im making an entire essay of what i want this list to have because i am an og player so read this if you are ready for an essay and here's what i want to see on a list (no hate if its not on tho) Competitively 1.judgeman (yeah judge man is pretty useless just having a range of a long sword with a white capsule but it always had a hidden feature, that hidden feature is the fact that to could summon books if you opponent takes your area and return it back to you so bring a judgeman if you play competitively P.S judgemans book quantity depends on how much area the opponent took basically 1 space equals 1 book) 2.Anti damage (so to sum it up it nullifies 1 of any attack regardless of the damage, and even better is that if your opponent were to use a multi hit thats ok because you teleport to the sky and shoot a ninja star so you have more invincibility and it also nullifies all the damage from a chip that dims the screen,so if your opponent uses a judge man when you used two area grabs you totally fine if you have a anti damage on) 3.life aura (it nullify any hit that does less than 200 so always bring a chip that does 200 over Or play falzar since it has tengu cross which also brings us to the 4th chip in the list which is 4.wind rack (wind rack is every competitive players friend since its a wide sword with a wind elemental which if you didn't know blows the enemies barriers off,so even if your opponent has a life aura and you have no chip that deals 200 damage or over a simple air shot can take it off, theres only one condition though.....the chip must be used in the same lane in the opponent if not it wont work which is why windrack is the chosen one since its a wide sword with a wind element so now you just have to press the A button at the middle to get rid of it) 5.invisible (it gives you immunity to all damage for awhile, normally for the duration of half the chip gauge i think ,so yeah use it at the start or the end of the turn so you stall out half the turn) 6.white capsule (this one is simple you add ot to any chip to give it the paralysis effect when you hit an opponent so its good in combos) 7.eraseman (not much to say here but he can penetrate through invincibility frames and give your opponent paralysis so it works in combos aswell but used for invincibility frame penetration) 8.*version exclusive chip* (they are the strongest chips in the game and only obtains once defeated bass which does not happen on the first or second encounter if i recall And use them correctly if not you are not gonna be happy, ill put a reply continuation at the reply section of this comment and if the channel owner reads all this just know that you dont need to read all this unless you are interested ofc but anyways tome to continue to my last chip for competitive 9.element man (this is the chip that can ruin either players side as the effect of element man is chosen when pressed the A button the effects will also be in the reply section of this comment so ye keep reading if you wish to know But anyways element man can change the tide of the battle either being perfect for thay moment or a random chip in your slot until you have the right chips) And that sums up the competitive chips i think should be on the list but its ok for it to not be on the list because i havent watched it yet so yeah having a nice day and a happy grinding session for competitive players
Gregar exclusive chip (Colonel forces) This chip is a giga chip that deals a ton of damage based on the amount of tiles you have so make sure to have some area grabs along the way and this chip already has a paralysis effect on it but dont use any chips on the opponent, but instead beast out and use the gregar buster while the colomel army is active and when it ends use any chip to continue the combo or just use any chip for chip damage
Falzar exclusive chip (Delta ray) This chip is very powerful as it does around 200-260 damage if i remember correctly (sorry i dont play falzar as much as gregar) and hits 0-3 times based on where you used it, its mostly best at the middle or middle left of the enemies board so keep that in mind and its used the worst at the top right corner since you dont hit any hits at all so remember to use ot at the middle P.S summary is that its bad at top ok at bottom best at middle but the more to the left your opponent is the better
(Element man chip effect) Green :it summons grass panels on the ground and sends a homing wood spear at the opponent Red : summons a single meteor that is fire based to deal damage Blue :has a range of a wide sword (meaning it hits the three panels infront of you) Summon ice panels to deal aqua damage P.S the attack freezes the opponent if hits Yellow: summons three lightning bolts at the back of the enemies field and breaks the panels (it does electric damage of you haven't realized) And that sums it up thank you for reading this entire thing i appreciate it and goodbye
I love this by the way people talking about mega Man I hope we constantly put up new videos showing cool strategies and how to defeat certain bosses like bass honestly I hope that mods come out to add more content to the game
This was an awesome video. Any chance you’ll be doing the other games? I just beat the dreaded first game and I’m going in order so I’d love to see more folder/chip videos.
You can always use the chip trader to get more. It's about as rare as any other chip in my experience, but still requires a lot of grinding with Collect
Don't use the virus challenges to get super vulcan. I think it was patched anyway, but the virus battles are the only way theo get the last Django chip, which if you want to get into Graveyard 2 you need. and trust me you want to get into Graveyard 2. some really fun battles and 2 Giga chips are locked behind the content there.
Aren’t there other areas where you can just fight blue mettaur and get guard 3? I have a bunch of them without doing any of the rare virus battling and I want to say it was from immortal area. LC edition
Dang, i though the capsule thing that paralyzes enemies will make it into the list, good for multi hit attacks that makes bosses have s. I use it for aquaneedle
do you have access to graveyard 2 and all that additional content plus the count in the legacy collection? i was debating whether on buying or not or continue emulating lol
The Legacy Collection is a full proper source code recompile of the original Japanese releases of the games. It isn't an emulation, so there is no input delay or other emulator issues. The Legacy Collection has ALL content in it - the Boktai crossover stuff, all the Japan only in-person-download event special chips, e-reader cards, etc. It also has full online play, where you can trade battle chips, compare chip libraries to fill in holes, compare navi deletion times to power up your SP navi chips, and net battle other people anywhere.
I find invis is something you can cut out at extreme lategame if you need more power and consistency, max 3 support chips for me tbh. FastBarrier is VERY important or just reg barrier * but im a cust+2 type guy so lol. It's my dumbass barrier htat lets me take a mistake or actually get a high rank on a thing you cannot get otherwise by just eating a hit as you attack.
If you want to get into graveyard 2 do not use the virus battler to get Super Vulcan. you need that challenge to get Django 3. Which can only be done by changing the language of your game to Japanese.
I once got supervulcan as a super rare chip, like a yellow strange data and what do ya know i forgot to save my file and proceed to lose the next battle 😂😂

I love the attention to detail in this video where you even talk about program advances, and combos with chips like double points. Great video man! 👍🏾
This is the first time I've been early enough that I actually saw a comment appear
I think both Windrack and Airspin 3 are good honorable mentions, they can easily take out those LifeAura that competitive players like to use
great video, i really appreciate the detail you went into on how to get all of them! i'm going to farm up some reflector3 with this strat ✨
Thanks! Love your BN content as well! Keep at it!

So im making an entire essay of what i want this list to have because i am an og player so read this if you are ready for an essay and here's what i want to see on a list (no hate if its not on tho)
Competitively
1.judgeman (yeah judge man is pretty useless just having a range of a long sword with a white capsule but it always had a hidden feature, that hidden feature is the fact that to could summon books if you opponent takes your area and return it back to you so bring a judgeman if you play competitively
P.S judgemans book quantity depends on how much area the opponent took basically 1 space equals 1 book)
2.Anti damage (so to sum it up it nullifies 1 of any attack regardless of the damage, and even better is that if your opponent were to use a multi hit thats ok because you teleport to the sky and shoot a ninja star so you have more invincibility and it also nullifies all the damage from a chip that dims the screen,so if your opponent uses a judge man when you used two area grabs you totally fine if you have a anti damage on)
3.life aura (it nullify any hit that does less than 200 so always bring a chip that does 200 over
Or play falzar since it has tengu cross which also brings us to the 4th chip in the list which is
4.wind rack (wind rack is every competitive players friend since its a wide sword with a wind elemental which if you didn't know blows the enemies barriers off,so even if your opponent has a life aura and you have no chip that deals 200 damage or over a simple air shot can take it off, theres only one condition though.....the chip must be used in the same lane in the opponent if not it wont work which is why windrack is the chosen one since its a wide sword with a wind element so now you just have to press the A button at the middle to get rid of it)
5.invisible (it gives you immunity to all damage for awhile, normally for the duration of half the chip gauge i think ,so yeah use it at the start or the end of the turn so you stall out half the turn)
6.white capsule (this one is simple you add ot to any chip to give it the paralysis effect when you hit an opponent so its good in combos)
7.eraseman (not much to say here but he can penetrate through invincibility frames and give your opponent paralysis so it works in combos aswell but used for invincibility frame penetration)
8.*version exclusive chip* (they are the strongest chips in the game and only obtains once defeated bass which does not happen on the first or second encounter if i recall
And use them correctly if not you are not gonna be happy, ill put a reply continuation at the reply section of this comment and if the channel owner reads all this just know that you dont need to read all this unless you are interested ofc but anyways tome to continue to my last chip for competitive
9.element man (this is the chip that can ruin either players side as the effect of element man is chosen when pressed the A button the effects will also be in the reply section of this comment so ye keep reading if you wish to know
But anyways element man can change the tide of the battle either being perfect for thay moment or a random chip in your slot until you have the right chips)
And that sums up the competitive chips i think should be on the list but its ok for it to not be on the list because i havent watched it yet so yeah having a nice day and a happy grinding session for competitive players
