I was about to say...
I mean apparently none of the guardians there were capable of shit since we can 6 man crota easily but around 300 couldn’t lay a scratch on him in that battle. Literally if we, and actually capable guardians were around for that fight I can almost guarantee we would all survive and Crota’s ass would be on a pike outside the hellmouth since a good handful would explore, get lost and probably glitch through the map and find the Crota’s heart.

this was their first encounter with The Hive and Crota led an attack of 1 thousand knights against 500 guardians.
Maybe it's just our guardian being an unbelievable badass, but...and?! I guess I need more details but, is assume that an experienced guardian could take a few knights themselves.
@@AllenGray47We took out a weakened Crota at nowhere near full power, not to mention essentially exploiting his own throne world’s mechanics to kill him. They faced him at his full strength along with his entire army, which was at least a thousand powerful knights and god knows how many lesser Hive. And they had very little experience with the Hive at that point too.

I see Osiris siding with Lord Saladin when he makes his move, but outright betraying us no. If anyone would betray us I think it would be Eris or The Drifter. Eris has step over the line into darkness more times than can count out of pure curiosity. One these times its going to be the last time. And well The Drifter is the Drifter. You could almost guarantee he'll betray us at some point. But when it happens, is it really betraying us if we knew about it?

Yup, and every single D2 player now is proof that it would happen again. A lot of players call characters like Crota and Oryx pushovers because 6 guardians coould kill them
Let me list every contributing factor that led to the death of Oryx
1. Crota is dead, meaning he is no longer getting stronger from his Son killing things
2. Oryx's worm(the Hive version of a Ghost effectively) was gnawing at him from the inside out because he couldn't find enough things to kill.
3. The Guardian(the guardian the player controls) was in that group, The Guardian being the single most powerful thing the Traveler ever created.
4. The Awoken sacrificing their fleet to make sure Oryx couldn't go on the attack
5. We had Eris Morn coaching us on how to specifically deal with him
6. We were lucky enough to interrupt Oryx pulling a Ghaul and trying to corrupt pure pools/orbs of Light, we used these as bombs to do the actual damage to Oryx(our gunfire basically did nothing, even when shooting his heart)
Let that sink in, all of that was needed to kill Oryx and we STILL FAILED. Oryx WON, he got to become the Touch of Malice and start feeding on every single kill we did with it. Keep in mind that in order for him to "die" to become that gun, he needed to be hit several times with bombs that were effectively the same as what the Traveller did to Ghaul

Ive always thought of some kind of event in the tower where it gets attacked and everyone is suddenly thrusted into first person and everyone there has to fight some kind of boss or some event where its open to join and it holds tons of guardians all fighting like on a battleground. Sending all the Guardians just doesn’t seem to work as well
I mean in that situation they sent a large group of guardians without a plan, recon, or even having basic knowledge about the enemy. It's not that sending a large portion of guardians is a bad idea, but rather it's a bad idea to send so many in, blind.
This just popped up in my feed like 2 years later but imagine if the final shapes raid consisted of 12 or 18 guardians instead 6 👁👁 that wpuldve been so dope

Pretty sure guardians operate according to the Inverse Ninja Law, where a small group of guardians can kill gods no problemo, but a massive group of them turn into fodder to get impaled on Crota's sword

Ok, this is mainly for New Lights who got this short recommended for them. Regurgitating the same thing but I'll try and make it more apparent about why we don't send every Guardian under the sun to a raid.
We tried that idea with a raid on the Moon against the Hive. Our number of encounters up until that point was exactly one, even then it was difficult. Shaxx said no, even made a report stating the aftermath, it happened anyway because democracy among the Consenus said to do it.
Crota is the son of the Hive God Oryx, the Taken King, and was powerful at that time. Extremely powerful and so was his armies.
To say the Moon may as well have been his holiday resort is understatement because with the hordes of Hive he had ravaged the surface and most of the inner caves were infested.
To sum up how bad ending was, look up the ending to the Advanced Warfare: Exo Survival Riot map. It's that but ten times worse. Outnumbered ten to one, arrogance level 500, with a bunch of New Lights too, we got pounded into dust. Any that did survive were slaughtered or presumed dead and then were promptly killed by the Hive. How many did the Guardians kill? No number is provided but we barely dented either Crota or his armies.
In either direct causation or hap-stance to the current state of the Vanguard and the number of Guardians being less abundant, it led to the Battle of the Twilight Gap which, if it weren't for the bravery of Guardian Champions who would be heralded as heroes, would have wiped out the Last City.
The reason why we send six of highly trained and experienced guardians now is because of, what we now know as, The Great Disaster. Guardians are not Space Marines or Robots, they are finite as the stars and any that are risen are rarities. At least any worth their salt.
If anything you have to send the sand guardian.
