Nibbles QBasic MS-DOS Quick Play | Nostalgia Nerd

Nibbles was a demonstration programme/game for QBasic that shipped with the MS-DOS Supplemental Disk. It was a staple classic in my school during lunch hours and paved the way for Snake on Nokia mobile phones. Let's get involved!

I have utterly forgotten I had this played this game when I was but a wee kid in the late 80's early 90's. It took 3 or 4 minutes into the video for me to even remember... Memory rush!!!

I have memories from back in middle school of playing this game on the lab machines after hours, or rather playing around with the source code to do different things. Most of the other kids played Carmen Sandiego or Oregon Trail but a few of us were into programming. Simplest was changing the sound effects, but later I figured out how to make my own levels and even have the levels change during gameplay.

Snake was the first video game I had on my very first black and white clamshell cellphone. I played it quite a bit (while I avoided my boss, coworkers and customers at work.) ;)

I played this when I was like 4 years old. My father taught me how to load the games by typing like C:// hahah

Kids used to play this in school along with Doom. Great fun even if it didn't compare to Doom.
