Knew a guy who didn’t even know the nco creed, but when asked to recite it he recited the ranger creed in full confidence and loudly. He passed the board. Confidence and tone are definitely the most important.
Normally you would be right unless you answer how I did at my e6 board.

Went into the board last week after watching this video. My nco creed was flawless. Slow paced spoke with emphasis in key parts gave my bio and they said nope not asking you shit. Dismissed ! Salute air cav!

I had about 2 weeks notice for the E-5 board. So I started studying the regs and then I stumbled across your videos and used your advice and crushed it. This was a year ago, now I’m a SGT. But wanted to say thank you for all the tips and advice you give in your videos

I executed the Creed of the NCO flawlessly loudly and with meaning almost screaming in my CSM's face. after that it went down hill.. didn't know my chain of command answered maybe 2-3 questions right but nailed every situational question.. at the end i left the room and my sponsor came out and told me "You suck".. they called me back in about 5 minutes later and asked if I think i deserve to be an NCO. I said "absolutely" they said "we do too, now get out".. I couldn't believe it.
I failed my first board last month. I’ve studied more and now I feel better prepared. Your point on confidence is very true. Once the board members sensed my nervousness, they started laughing and teasing me which made it worse. Confidence is key guys

Company board in a week. BN board for E-4(p) in two weeks. Had 45 drills to use as role models in basic and AIT, I got stuck in fort Gordon for almost a year. This helps a lot

Get stoked! I was given a weeks notice to a board I participated in today. I’m a prior marine and this was my first army board. I entered, reported to the president, did my facing movements, did my bio, answered a current events question, and did the NCO creed. I was then dismissed. It all took 6 minutes. I passed without being asked a single knowledge question!!!
Oh, fun...board stuff. Here's an easy win: Clean and blacken the soles of your shoes, wear a different set going to your board, then change into the "board shoes." I heard board members audibly mention it while having to march around for SGT/SSG. Does it make good NCOs? No. Is it an easy "win?" Yes.

Pay attention to the questions ! When you get a question like "Can you name 2 types of bleeding?" The question is actually "Can you do it - yes or no ?" Give a firm Yes/No answer - nothing more. They'll follow up with a question telling you to name 2 types of bleeding (or whatever subject your question is about). It shows them you listen closely and pay attention. But only do it once, otherwise you'll just be making things difficult for the board members. The Board will probably be careful about how they question you after your response, anyway.

Ahhh.....I remember my first board. It was a great experience. And the ONLY reason why it was is because my NCO Support Channel invested in me. To recite words on a page is good, but to interpret them is where all NCOs need to be.
I remember one question that was asked was related to the steps taken if one of my Soldiers died while deployed. And while I answered the question, I ended with, "This is why it is quintessential that I ensure all my Soldiers packets are squared away before deployment. Our job, First Sergeant, is to win the Nation's wars. This makes death our business. We have to ensure we are prepared for it."
I do miss it. Once my wife stabilizes with her cancer, I want to return. One day. Hooah!

I’m not an NCO, but that’s the kind of answer that not only shows that you know your material, but that you actually CARE about it and it MEANS something to you, which is honestly really motivating and sadly not seen enough in today’s Army. People are too accustomed to quotas and “checking the box” and leave it there.

@@STOKERMATIC Just passed in 10 minutes or so! Gig line, part of the NCO Creed, bio, short term goals, long term goals, asked if I agree with President Biden and to watch social media posts, then 2 questions from one of the 1SG. Then I was dismissed early by CSM.
I was notified about my Soldier of the Quarter Board about four days before, recieved the MOI today and the board is tomorrow. Let's get it.

Went to the board today and won the guy that came in second is in my section and is very smart he answered more questions correctly than me but I answered enough and was more confidence and loud so that pushed me to the top. Thanks for the videos they helped a lot.

Being a senior NCO and leaving as a MSG 👍know the NCO creed and I always expected a bold and loud thunder cadence of the creed! And earning the stripes be ready to follow not only the heritage but start making your mark as an NCO💪🫡

This is me right now. They got me right after I got back from a mission and they gave me less than two weeks and then kept me busy for the first week. I have a few days and I don't even have an MOI from my leadership.
Notified at end of the NTC rotation that i was going to the SPC to SGT board and had only 3 weeks to prep.

Crazy thing is, I'm a PFC in charge of two squads because we don't have enough NCO's. I may not be a NCO but I'm still a leader of soldiers, as it goes, all soldiers are entitled to outstanding leadership and i will provide it

Man, I just did my first board ever for an AGR position. It lasted maybe 6-10 minutes! I missed 2, maybe 3 tops. I was like no way this is this easy... Hopefully it was a good quick interview rather than the bad one like you said lol 🤞🏽🤞🏽👊🏽

I will have the E-5 board on Tuesday, i was informed that i will be there on the weekend. I didn't receive any advice about what i was supposed to study (I'm trying to guess and studying what i think is important), starting to learning NCO Creed (English is not my first language, it's really hard for me... but I'm trying hard), my uniform is ready. Now is 0110 Sunday. I'm under stress because military life represents everything for me.
I just wished to have more time and some guidance... but that's okay, life is not fair. I will give my best... I need to memorize this NCO Creed and speak with power & conviction. I know that I can be a great NCO, I was on the Navy and Marines... now i will be on Army and I retire as military or die for my country.
I have the board in three days from now and to make things worse, I only received a three day notice. Since no one in my platoon decided to volunteer when they were asked, I was voluntold.
Omar, make the best of it - and know you were selected by your seniors because they see something in you. Best of luck!

I would like to add a little advise to all watching, As a former DS, own what you know, mean what you say and we all know that reporting to a group of senior NCO's will make you feel uneasy, nervous, and anxious to get out of there just remember this, imagine them sitting in front of you in their underwear, and when answering those questions focus looking at the space between their eyebrows, this gives them the impression you are looking directly into their eyes and they get the impression that you are confident in yourself.

When i was in the USAF 18 years I came out of basic an E 2 and once I was E 4, the higher I got the easier it was to get promoted..if that makes sense..my E 6 had an E 7 and E 4 on the board..and I was serving active on a guard base 10 miles from my house,(i got separated from the ANG to active because our base was on Clintons top 5 chopping block, and 3rd gen USAF R&D and my mom an officer, I started as a 1N, I was able to do what they never let you do..serve active 10 miles from you're home)so everybody knew everybody. a small AFSOC wing the 106th Operations base with USAF PJS(with Ranger Tabs)USAF SF and 6 special warfare detachments, its now the 106th C/SAR wing, it was the 102nd C/SARs,
