The LAST PRINCESS of Hawaii

Princess Ka‘iulani was to ascend the throne of Hawaii, but the USA’s annexing of the island group ended the monarchy. Ka‘iulani will however always be remembered as the person that saved surfing from extinction.

Ka‘iulani was the last princess of the monarchy of Hawaii. She was sent to England to educated and prepare her for the eventual role of queen, but greed and lust for power destroyed the island culture for good. Ka‘iulani’s legacy was to save surfing as a sport from becoming extinct.
