This is what makes me so sick. Ive been saying for years that murderers should be put to death because they can escape and kill more people. I hate being proven correct on this. In 2006 he was convicted of murder, got a life sentence, now he escaped and killed FIVE innocent people. What if that was your family members? Would you say: "I want murderers to suffer in prison!"? No, dont be a fool like everyone else. Delete murderers from existence asap.

This was an inside job. There's no way he could have "escaped" his shackles AND gotten through that locked gate between himself and the driver without help. There are ALWAYS sell out guards who break and can be intimidated or pushed to do the wrong thing. That convict probably broke that person down, threatened him/her, got a visit to his home by some of the inmate's connections, etc... There's no other way this could have happened without some help. Any prisoner being transported to an outside facility should be required to wear an ankle monitor in addition to waist and leg shackles. We have so much technology yet we can't locate a grown man who winds up within 5 miles from where he escaped....for almost a month? Do they not have service dogs? Also, are the FEDs on this? They need to stop saying: "....he killed a family of 5" only. Wow but of all that population size, only 45k a year due by “gun violence” in a country of 330million plus. Break down that 45k and you get
60% suicides(if I cut my veins with a knife, do we call if knife violence??????)
20% homocides mostly stemming from inner city gangs and illegal guns by thugs and criminals(most shown to be bought or stolen illegally. The rest branches off too law enforcement shootings/self defense/accidental or unintentional, mass shootings. So if you actually factor in Americans willingly going after other Americans with intentions to kill would be around 15k dead a year in a country of 330 million plus, and with trillions in rounds and as many guns as people. Go cry somewhere else you ignorant fu*😂

Does anyone not understand the severe shortage that has been taking place in TDCJ ?
We have c.o.s that are working in other units to fill in the gaps. Fatigue is no joke. It causes security breaches and puts public at risk. Just as this escapee has done.
The bus should had never been used. The cage was not in good condition.
And with limited ammunition; what in the heck can these guys do.
With a bus of 15 other convicts.
These guys get rushed to have inmates at their medical appointments. I've dealt with it all.
If these convicts miss a medical appt or even their visitations. The agency has to deal with their families. And it just continues to repeat its cycle.

This entire matter is highly reflective of systemic deficiency inside the Texas prison system: No rehabilitation programs, security threats due to low prison staffing, new prison guards being promoted to supervising positions out of necessity and not experience, and prison overcrowding. The ratio of guards to inmates is dramatically low. A quick fix would be to reduce the prison population by releasing low risk offenders to therapeutic halfway houses that first need to be built.
