You'll get it Tom, I have complete faith in you. I can't believe how many people spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on small engine equipment then let it go to the crapper. I have neighbors equipment that I service every year to two years and more than half the time the tanks are left with fuel in them and everything is plugged up. I also remind them to drain the fuel out every season, but it just goes on deaf ears. That's ok with me though it helps keep me in business. Take care sir and catch you on part two.
Tom anyone that neglects their equipment like this deserves to pay for stupidity. Go for the new tank, carb and everything in the middle. Staying tuned for part 2😊
An entire can of tetrachloroethylene brake parts cleaner shot in there and seal the openings, and swish around for a while might dissolve that stuff. Acetone? Paint remover?
There was something mixed with that gas. Gasoline alone wouldn't form goo like that. Not that much goo anyway. They probably added some stabilizer in it, and let it sit in the heat for a decade. Of course, don't expect them to admit doing that. And maybe someone else did it, and they don't know what was done to it.
Hi Tom , I have someone selling the same generator that dosent produce electricity for $300 … Should I offer him $200! Is it worth fixing if magnets are bad ? Great video !!
If you got an ultrasonic cleaner, you can put the grungy parts in a glass or plastic jar with kerosene and put the jar in the water bath in the ultrasonic. It will keep the machine clean.

Looking forward to part 2. That is one nasty fuel tank.
A work in progress Tom, looking forward to the next 27 parts. 🤣🤣
Hey Mark, he does love us!!!
Oh YAY, goody! 😄
🤣🤣🤣
Got to generate money even in the winter time Tom Dolby 😂
Great video
Also add some nuts and bolts to the fuel tank and then shake.
Evapo rust and a bunch of nts and bolts. Shake drain and repeat as many times it takes. Looks like varnish
You can try acetone and/or Evapo-rust and try to revive the fuel tank.
Try a can of acidtone and let it soak for a couple of days.
Put a bag of pea gravel and let the goo attach to it. ?????
Try acetone or alcohol to clean the gunk out of the tank, should dissolve it.
Try using some distilled vinegar in the tank. Let it set over night the drain and flush it out with some Super Clean or a rust dissolved by Rustolium.
👍👍👍

i think he kept it in a metal shed, you know how hot they get!
Put white vinegar in the tank and let it sit overnight and it will clean that fuel tank.
lacquer thinner

it could be a number of things wrong with it, it'd be hard to say but 200 is a good deal, its an expensive generator
Did it smell as good as it looked 😂
took 4 days to get the smell out!
That’s the nastiest gas I’ve ever seen.
Lacquer thinner will dissolve the tar inside!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ethanol is a killer!! If that don’t prove it I don’t know what does??
whoever owns this is an idiot! thats years of neglect! i wouldn't touch that tank for less than $250.00. $100.00 0f it would be chemicals i would need
Try some kerosene and let it soak. You might get lucky!
