It is loaded with a rifle powder. It is fast for a rifle powder, but slow for a pistol. If they loaded it with N310 like a .357 magnum with a 180 grain load it would make less flash and more velocity/muzzle energy.

This is the first revolver I bought, I have the 7" barrel. With the 265 grain XTP 454 at 100 yards, its good enough to hunt with. While you are reasonable for anything you do, I bought the .45acp butterfly clips, for the S&W governor, and modified them to work with the raging judge. SO now i can shoot 410, 45colt, 45acp 454 casull. I've also tried 44mag and .444 marlin and while they do shoot pretty accurately the case expansion is enough to make it difficult to remove the spent shells. This is diffidently my favorite revolver.

What is the lifespan of the raging judge Magnum? If you fire 1,000 rounds of 454 casull, will it keep working? I saw a Ford Taurus for sale for $800.00 this week. That's about the same price as the Taurus Raging Judge.

I know of 3 6 round handguns on the market that can shoot .454 Casull. The Ruger is suppose to hold up, but it's light and has heavy recoil. The Taurus Raging Judge is heavy and has less recoil. There's another rare gun that I don't want to talk about, because I want to get it for my TH-cam channel first, and I'm not sure how it will hold up either.

@ mac daddy, the difference is with a regular Judge you might lose a few fingers and your half of your face if shoot higher pressure bullets than the revolver is designed for LOL. The hardness of the metal used for the cylinder/lock up/all other parts is what it boils down to... Only guessing, Be safe yall.

I hunted with a .410 shotgun seriously last fall for squirrels. At beyond 15 yards, the squirrels just got pissed off by being peppered with the .410. That was the first, and last, time I'll hunt with a .410! I was shooting #4's, in 3 inch shells. Where's my damn .22 LR?? I would've had my limit in 30 minutes!
I would like to see these compared with FMJ and slugs into paper plates or jugs to get an idea of actual power. Also, I saw a video on another channel that indicated that for some reason, the brass cased shotgun shells didn’t perform as well as the standard ones. They were shooting 12 ga in a shotgun, though. They sure look cool!
TH-cam seems to mess up anything with guns - even the nerdy medieval channels that don't even *fire* the muskets and blunderbusses. There's even an über nerdy British professor with beige shirts and a teacup, who got demonitized for firering a bolt action rifle and an almost one hundred years old revolver, and he was being so British while making those presentations, that I almost started whistling God Save The Queen. TH-cam are really branching out with their anti-gun thing.

You have to try the 6 inch 513 model. The snub nose is fun but that 6 inch burns more power making it even faster

I have the 6inch Taurus RJM and it’s my fav too. I like the .454 and 3inch mag slugs, but it’s all fun. You can’t go wrong with that thing!
