Yes, but his narrative of Blanche Monnier is largely fictionalized. He leaves out or fabricates much of her story. Her true story is much greyer and more complicated than narrated here. Plus, the photo used of Monnier as a young woman is of someone else. Both the narrator and animator didn't do diligent research on her case. (Google searches aren't research.)

The first story is so very sad. How a mother can do that to their daughter is just beyond me.
Just Giving birth to a child doesn't make one a good mother.

Story 1: *ABUSIVE PARENTS IN A NUTSHELL*
This was SO good. The animations are getting better and better with the gesture drawings and lighting on top of the realistic backgrounds! Not to mention I really enjoyed this new subject matter. Keep making more of these vintage stories that almost got lost in time ❤️
I heard about the first story. That poor woman. I could never understand parents (or any other human) that can harm children ,in any way. A special place in hell is waiting for those kind of monsters!
Parents should protect and be there for their kids ! Their safety and happiness should be on the first place!

This first story is crazy, why would you trap your very own daughter and keep her from living her life or even being an asset to you because she wanted to marry someone you didn't choose. Now she still didn't marry anyone you chose and you have no continuation of your family

I saw Story #1 on TH-cam years ago from #ObsoleteOddity. It still saddens me to this very day. It wouldn't surprise me if her mother is still trapped in the greed circle ⭕ of hell 🔥 for what she has done to her daughter. I pray 🙏 that Blanche Monnier rest in the peace of heaven 👼 that she couldn't find on earth. 🌍

Ummm in the first story wasn't it as the police officers were leaving 2 officers noticed a small door outside near the stairs or something that was heavily padlocked and closed the mother kept trying to deny them entry into the room so they decided to break the door down and see what's inside where they found the girl in an emaciated state chained to her bed I can't remember the story too well since it was ages ago I heard it but it was the uncle that sent that letter out of guilt or something and the mother locked her up out of jealousy since the girl was really pretty and the mother couldn't stand all the attention she was getting it was a really messed up story again my memories not so good but I'm pretty sure it's how this story went...

In regards to the first story, there was a mistake. Marcel Monnier was Blanche's brother, not uncle.

Let's Read hasn't done his research on the first case. Blanche Monnier didn't develop exhibitionism after being "imprisoned" in the attic. Rather, after she'd begun fasting and experimenting with religion, and having religious "visions" (as a result of her schizophrenia and deteriorating mental health), she'd often stand naked in front of her bedroom window, which forced her parents to board up her window, which is why her bedroom resembled the dark prison she was found in). Also, a major part of why her parents locked her up is because of the stigma associated with mental health at that time, and because they thought she would be better taken care of at home than an asylum. And lastly, the narrator makes no mention of Marie Fazy, Blanche's carer for over twenty years. Yes, the true story of Blanche Monnier doesn't make for as good a story, but when you're telling nonfiction, don't tell it as fiction please.

The "before" photo used of Blanche Monnier is not really her. It's a fake. The real woman in the photo is an unknown woman dated 1914, a year after Blanche’s death aged 65. I appreciate your animations very much, but please do your research when using original photos of people.
