Just to ease everyone minds about the Endoscopy. I had mine done today. If you are getting sedated than you'll not even notice It. I totally went in today so freaked out and worried with so much anxiety. Everyone was super nice and literally when they start they tell you to take a couple of deep breaths in to fall asleep and your literally sleeping by the 4th breath and wake up and its done before you even know it. Just relax dont get scared it'll be fine. Some people says it the best sleep they've had in a while :)

I was sound asleep through mine they stretched my lower esophagus and took a biopsy of my small intestine they haven’t got my results in

I have to go tomorrow for a stomach emptying test they just give you something to eat and take how long it takes to go through your system

don't worry,my dad who is 78 had it done 2 days ago,it was his first time,he had the spray to numb his throat and he said it was nothing to worry about,he was fine from start to finish. good luck.xx

No they just put you to sleep there’s no spray to numb your throat I had one september 23

I had this done in April 26, 2020. And had to have it in the hospital 🏥 for someone else who is a little bit of a real honest person who doctor told me he and one of my doctor were piss at each other. After it had a blood transfusion as well

I hade myn today at Russals hall hospital West Midlands it was so easy you can breath fine . Just a bit of throat spray for numbing and slid the pipe down . Nothing to worry about guys just relax that’s the key to relax it was all over in less than 5 minutes. Remember just relax and breath there’s nothing to it

I looked up endoscopy here on TH-cam because I had a colon endoscopy yesterday (but not at this hospital). In case anyone is wondering about such a procedure, as a 55 year old male who was offered one as part of Bowel Cancer screening being done by the NHS, I found the staff at my local hospital very professional (as you'd expect) - I was nervous during the procedure, the staff recognised this and kept chatting to me as they could tell the distraction was what I needed (they offered me some 'laughing gas' to sedate me a bit but I declined. The actual insertion of the endoscope into my anus was a little uncomfortable, difficult to describe the sensation but wasn't painful. They put some gas in you to expand your bowel a little and that can feel a little uncomfortable too, like you've got a tummy ache, but that ache lasted less than a few seconds and the whole procedure, from first insertion to final removal of camera, took 6 minutes (not 5, not 4, but 6, as they'd timed it !). I thought I wouldn't be able to watch the live camera action, but it turned out to be nothing to be afraid of, and was actually pretty interesting, seeing the inside of oneself, and relieved that it was all nice and clean with no bad polyps etc to report. Finally, during the examination they said that if my tummy ache felt bad, it was absolutely no problem to fart, but I couldn't muster up the courage to do that in front of 4 people, and I found that when they removed the camera, that expelled during that point anyway. I didn't need to fart once out of the examination room or hospital either. Hope all of that commentary is of some benefit to others who may be about to undergo the same and area worried. Basically it's absolutely nothing to worry about and you'll be fine !

Had mine without sedation. Was nervous at first , but when I swallowed the scope it was a breeze.
