  • We got a new pool! Last year we had the 10 foot rectangular Play Day inflatable family pool. We really wanted a Summer Waves round 12 or 15 foot pool but they were sold out everywhere & scalpers were asking $600 online (for a $100 pool!?). This year I planned ahead and ordered one in February (from Canadian Tire for $119). Join us as we go through the process of unboxing, setup, filling and playing in our new pool! Michelle LOVES it. We'll be using it a lot since we're spending another Summer at home. Thanks for watching. Please like & subscribe. :)
    Have a great Summer. Take care. Stay safe.

    we just got the same pool this year. How did the duck chlorine dispenser do?? We have the same thing, but wondering if I need to get something else

    • @AnnMariePincivero
      @AnnMariePincivero  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The duck worked pretty well. I added an extra one just to have more chlorine circulating. I think having two is better than just having more tablets in the one. Other advice: make sure you run the filter through the day & make sure there is power in the outlet (I didn't realize the outlet shorted out & the filter wasn't running for days when we didn't use the pool! This led to algae in the pool!) Also change the pool filter every couple of weeks. I let it go too long. I'm nervous to set the pool up again this year but hopefully it goes well & I learn from my mistakes! Take care.

    Thinking about getting this for my 7 year old son. I will have to put it together myself. So was it difficult to put together?

    • @AnnMariePincivero
      @AnnMariePincivero  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No it wasn't too bad. You just blow up the ring (it helps if you have a proper air pump with a nozzle that fits. Blowing it up took a long time for me because I was using my leaf blower & couldn't get a secure fit. The filter isn't too hard to put together. It takes a long time to fill (3 hours for me with hose & buckets.) My daughter absolutely loves it. I think it's worth it. Take care. :)

    One more question...Did you purchase a vacuum to help clean the pool or just use the skimmer net each day?

    • @AnnMariePincivero
      @AnnMariePincivero  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. No vaccuum. They were too expensive & I didn't understand how it would work. I just had the skimmer for things floating on the top & I cleaned off the dirt on the bottom with cloths on my feet! (I would sort of skate around to wipe off the bottom. It never got that dirty until late in the season when we weren't using it. I had it covered. I was still putting the filter on 8 hours a day (so I thought!) I didn't realize the outside outlet had lost power & the filter WASN'T GOING! So I got algae (if you see my video on draining the pool you'll see how green it got! I drew a sad face in the algae!) :( Live & learn. I'll be more careful with it this year -- change the filter more often, check to make sure it's running every day etc. Some people put shock in the pool but I didn't have any. I only ever used chlorine. It was fine until the filter/power thing happened. Take care. Thanks for watching! I'll post a new video when we put the pool up this year. Maybe this month? Depends on the weather & how brave I feel!

    How much work are you having to do to keep the PH and Chemicals at bay?

    • @AnnMariePincivero
      @AnnMariePincivero  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ran the filter 8 hours a day. Cleaned surface with skimmer. Cleaned the bottom with cloths on feet (like skating!) Hth chlorine tablets in 2 dispensers. Checked levels with test strips. Added more tablets when needed. Never used shock or anything. Was pretty good through the Summer.

    Great Job! You're an expert at this! Hows the air ring holding up? Heard it always loses air??

    • @AnnMariePincivero
      @AnnMariePincivero  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Actually it held up pretty good. I think I only had to top it up with air once or twice in the months that it was up. I got a little air pump thing with a nozzle that fits so it would be easier! I'm nervous to put up the pool again this year. Hopefully it goes OK! Maybe I'll do a sequel video! Take care. :)

    Did the pool cover fit?

    • @AnnMariePincivero
      @AnnMariePincivero  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! It's a 12 foot round cover & it closes with drawstrings that pull tight around the top ring. All the 12 foot round pools are basically the same so I think any brand cover would be OK. I just got the cheapest one I could find! Take care.

    Where Did You Guys Buy It?

    • @AnnMariePincivero
      @AnnMariePincivero  ปีที่แล้ว

      Canadian Tire. But I think you can get them everywhere -- Walmart etc? They sell them online (Amazon etc) but usually charge more for them. I don't think supplies are as short as they were in 2020 so there shouldn't be as much price gouging now. Cheers.

      12 feet on the outside so more realistically 10 feet of space inside but yeah it was enough room to swim around. Thanks for watching! Take care.

      @@weedlebunz We still have it but we didn't put it up last year & we're not putting it up this year. It's still OK as far as I know. In a box in the basement. Grateful for happy memories in the pool but our situation is different now and it just didn't make sense to put it up anymore. I was sad at first but now I'm relieved because it was very stressful setting it up and everything. I have anxiety & PTSD so I prefer to avoid anxiety triggers. Take care.

    Was try find a cheap pool so can try able to swim if not to deep

    • @AnnMariePincivero
      @AnnMariePincivero  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not too deep. It's just deep enough that if you fill it all the way you can float a bit on your back or front. You can also move yourself along with your hands on the bottom as though you're swimming (we call that the Grampa swim because my dad can't swim & that's what he used to do in the shallow end at a large outdoor pool.) :) Take care.

      @@alishawaller2105 Cool. 18 feet would be AWESOME! We're happy with our 12 foot pool. It's really only 10 feet of space inside the ring (it's 12 feet at the widest part on the bottom.) 15 feet or more would be really big! It would probably be 36" deep then too (ours is only 30"). Take care. Have a good summer!
