  • This guitar pretty much sums up everything I love about Schecter. I know that I sound like a broken record, but I truly believe that Schecter guitars are the best value in the industry. I'm not sure how they can make such high quality guitars for such a reasonable price. For more information or to make a purchase, check out the link to this guitar below:

    It's a player's guitar. Not a showpiece. Not a collector's item. A tool, in short. Built for one reason- to play.

    Dang Dan, this vid hits another level. The camera movements and editing are noticeably smoother and really different to me than past vids, and it was a very nice and seamless touch where you punched in the audio clicks for those pull pot close ups. I feel like you have really upped your game here, and in so doing you've actually caused me to reconsider Schecter guitars a little bit. Good job, dude!

    Hey, Dan! I have an idea for a build. HSS strat with coil split, two volume knobs, and a master tone. The neck and middle pickups share the first volume pot and the bridge pickup has the second volume pot that's also a push pull. Here's the challenge I have for you:
    1. Add a mini spst switch that toggles the middle pickup.
    2. Wire up the neck and bridge pickup to an LP style three way toggle switch.
    3. Wire both switches to the 5 way strat style switch.
    The idea here is to be able to shut off and toggle between any pickup like how tom Morello does but also be able to use all three pickups if I so choose.

    I completely agree. It was the traditional stuff that drew me to Schecter as well. Ive got a dark blue C1+ with a beautiful flame top and cream binding, with a set of Seymour Duncan's in it. It is my favorite guitar to play. Even more so than my 1970 gold top Les Paul deluxe.

    Easily the most versatile and playable guitar I own. I don't understand how I don't see more of them around. I swapped out the tuners for some Hipshot locking tuners (makes string changing on a Bigsby so much easier), also had to replace the switch after a student knocked it over, but other than that I have no compulsion to change anything about it. Glad to see I'm not alone

    Definitely agree Dan, I fall into the broken record camp as well when it comes to Shector. However, I think that does speak to the consistent quality that they've produced over the years; as opposed to other distributors who've fallen down or off recently.

    Have the likes of Dragon Fire pickups ever been on your radar for an endorsement / promo deal? Dirt cheap and decent "inspired by" versions of well known pickups. I recently dropped some of their gold covered "Gate Buckers" (pearly gates)like pickups ($53 brand new, $13 of which is the upcharge for the covers) into a guitar of mine - and I have to say, I'm properly impressed with them.

    Hey man I love your channel. I have a bunch of questions.
    1. Do you have a video on finishing the stains diy kits you build?
    2. Do you have any 5 string bass builds? I met a guy on talk bass that converts 4 string basses to 5 actually.
    3. Would you ever do a Languedoc style kit (like the kind Trey Anastasio plays) and explain what’s different about how the pups are wired?
    4. Finally a gun/knife question: Does anyone ever carry a knife on an arm band? I think it would be better for wilderness walks and trail running.
    Thanks Dan, keep up the good work

    Killer review that's not a axe many are aware they make. If I hadn't caught the namm shows I wouldn't of myself . I love Schecter though mine was a Satin finish Daimon 6 with EMG passive H buckers. I got it used but it was not wore out and played great. The quality was what got me The neck just felt awesome. I'm a SRV blues kinda guy so I wasn't in love with it and the bat inlays just seemed wrong for my style. A guy offered me more than I could pass up after playing it and being spoiled by it. So it's got a great home Dudes shredding his bloody fingers off on it. That pick guard and the routing means anyone with a drimel can order the pickguard material pots and wires and go Strat single coils or P90s heck make a few with different set ups with qwick connect for the ground and out put Jack wires and in a few minutes you can change the whole sound. The control cavity also looks big enough to go with some onboard effects preamp midrang and distortion push pulls on the volume and still do a coil split on the tones. Sink some stout magnets into the wood for holding power and ya don't even need to screw the guard down just epoxy some washers that fit in the hole to make contact with the magnet. They are for sure a company to consider by more traditional players. I'll be going to pick one when this mess is over if I'm not over. Thanks Brother stay safe out there.

    So I just picked up this guitar used at GC for a really good price , but it has an EMG-60 in the neck, and a EMG-81 in the Bridge, so it is Active now and has all the new electronics for that - No coil splitting though. I am trying to determine if that was an upgrade for the Pups or not, and if I should keep it or return. I don't know much about EMGs but it appears the 60/81 combo is mellower than the typical Metal/hard rock combos. They sound good to me and the 60 in the neck can get pretty clean and notes seem to be clear all around. I usually play modern worship so alot of top 40 type rock sound with OD, Delay and reverb and some Ambient stuff. Curious to your thoughts on those EMGs if you are familir with them and how you think it would compare overall to the original pups quality/soundwise just in general. Im okay with the EMGs if it is considered an improvement on what was in there originally. Thanks, Michael

      It doesn't help that they moved production from S Korea to Indonesia. $800-1500 for Indonesian guitars with mostly average components is way too much.

      @The2ndProtectsTheRest 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThePokeCzech I wholeheartedly agree, which is why I don’t even mess with any of their newer guitars. The move to Indonesia was career suicide for them, as far as I’m concerned, because I’ll never buy another one. For me, if a guitar doesn’t come from the USA, Japan, S.     That's why I like the Ibanez Talman T303 cause it don't look like a metal thrash monster but more traditional;

    Are those pickups standard humbucker sized or larger? I'm also super curious about the newer fastbacks because they look great but the pickups may be a bit niche in their sound

    Dan, what are schecter neck profiles like? Thin and wide like an Ibanez? Modern fender-ish? Are they all the same? Or do the more classic shaped guitars like this have a slightly fatter rounder shape?

      I own this same guitar and i really love it!!! The neck feels much more comfortable and easier for me to play than the neck of my American Pro Telecaster. Both guitars sound great through my Spark 40 Amp but very different from one another. Truthfully, the pricing of the two guitars should be reversed.

    Could I get your opinion on the Guyker 1:21 locking tuners?. What you think?
