Loved Air Malta,used to fly from the hell hole Tripoli,to paradise in Malta and will always be thankful for this splendid airline in the nineties

wonderful flight report.I have flown with them economy from Athens to Malta and back in 2008.They were fine.

Wonderful flight review . The retro livery is very attractive, the mentioned milestones in the magazines are very interesting. What I liked is being an offbeat airlines yet the service is quiet fabulous, the meal n the decoration of serving was so nice . Rather impressive . I really like this sort of offbeat airlines reviews . Thanks for sharing . Great job .

Absolutely, I loved this flight
My Trips my meals have been really good.. on one trip down to Malta, I was the only passenger in Air Malta business class and the FA serving me was working her final flight on the airline before retiring. It was a pretty festive occasion!

Does the Air Malta Retro have a different cabin or the same cabin as the other Air Malta A320s?
I would think it is the same. It's only the outside that has been modified

flown with them a few times. there better than easy jet ryan air and BA can often be the cheapest.
From this experience I think the same for sure. Air Malta is not a budget airline or at least they don’t seem to act as one
Probably my favourite lounge after Etihad in Abu Dhabi.
The airport lounge can be accessed only by the business class passengers or everyone traveling by that airline?????

@@MyTrips_Aviation yea it actually is a SmartLynx! But it is doing the flight in the name of air malta (wet lease). So basically it contains SmartLynx crew and service but has air malta passeners on board! Air Malta have been doing that lately due to bad management as it implemented new routes without the addition of planes to back them up, so ended up having a lack of planes to fly the flights. Last year they had a huge crisis when they wet leased a faulty, 23 year old B737 which caused many flights to be delayed and cancelled due to technical faults! Air Malta is a small company struggling to compete with the european low-cost giants!
Thanks for the information, I didn’t know this to be honest. I had an excellent flight with them and I’d like to see them doing well. It’s a shame airlines that offer such nice service to suffer from management problems

The plane kept on dropping out of the sky and it made my stomach turn is that normal and will happen my next flight with them😊
Hello brother. Just wondering how strict are Air Malta with weight when it comes to checked baggage and carry on baggage ?
With checked baggage that goes into the planes belly I have 23 kilos. Most other airlines close their eyes if you're 1 or 2 kilos over but is air Malta very strict on this?
And do they bother to weigh your carry-on baggage because with this I have 10 kilograms?
Hello Gary. I didn’t have a checked bag on my flight with them so I don’t really know. I would suggest you read the passenger reviews on the airlinequality website to see if anyone has had any problems.
Regarding the cabin bags, on my flight no one was weighing anything from what I remember
My Trips thanx. One other thing, if you buy a bag full of chocolate for example, and u don't want to put it in your carry on not to crush it or maybe it won't fit, u think they'll make a big deal and not want to let the extra plastic bag on with you?

Yes you’re probably right. I do wonder though which airline gets the passengers to St Petersburg. It must be only Aeroflot flying directly from London so not that much of competition

No unfortunately there was only one choice...my last flight with BA wasn’t great but they did have more than one options for the main as you say

Overall it was very good and in my personal view better than BA. I do understand though that one meal option may be a problem
