    for ALL your RC Upgrades
    Stemming from complaints about people stripping their rear diffs in the CC01 trucks I made this video for building a CC01 Rear Diff that will last a long time. I built my First Pajero Diff this way in another video and so far it has lasted 2 years without breaking. This Video is solely focused on building a CC01 Axle/Diff.

    SO GLAD this was here! I had to watch again, I'm building a Landfreeder(that name!) as I write. This tip really came in handy!

    Installing the bronze bushings between the bearings and e clips at the outer ends of the axles is actually in the instructions of my FJ Cruiser. But this video definitely helped me to eliminate the excess slop by adding a few washers and an extra bronze bushing. I also used the Hot Racing TCC1201 aluminum axle case in my build. Thanks for posting this and your other videos for us to aid in our RC builds.

    What I do is simply put another E clip on the end your working on by the scribes in the axle and it works great.

    Just been building my CC-01 Bronco and had the same problem with the slop. Many thanks for your video. One question, I only received 2off 5x8 bushes with my kit, any idea where I could get some more?

      @TheLEDwheel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are pretty common. you can get them from Tamiya or use the Tamiya part number to find them on ebay. Or you can look for them by size.

  • @CarmineRC

    Wow..... who knew that you had to set up pinion depth and carrier backlash - like in a REAL differential!!!
    Being an Auto mechanic, I would have noticed all that slop too. I thank you, for doing the trial and error for us, on WHAT to use to fix it! Great to know if I can ever afford a CC-01.
    I've got leftover 5x8 bushings, but where did you get 5mm shims? Are they different thicknesses or all the same?

    • @TheLEDwheel
      @TheLEDwheel  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Carmine Allocca the shims are .03, .02, .01 mm sets at Asiatees. I think I put the link in the description.

    Steph, is the upgrade aluminum rear diff case worth it? It is stonger then plastic. Thnx
    GPM and Hot racing make these...

    • @TheLEDwheel
      @TheLEDwheel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never used one so can't say but i have also never needed one. Only real advantage i can see is low end weight. But if nyou build a good stock axle with no play it will last.

    • @TheLEDwheel
      @TheLEDwheel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a tamiya part. Comes with the black edition CC01 but you can buy it separately.
