    Got one in vintage white yesterday. Amazing value and mod platform. Mine had the granadillo fret board. Reminds me of pau ferro. The neck actually has some flame to it and it has Zero fret sprout!

      I just bought an EVH Stripe Series, it was between that and the higher end Baretta. I passed on the Baretta cause I was afraid it wouldn’t be much better than these are. lol I love mine.

    Cool video dude. Subbed. 👍
    I bought the blue one last year. Love it. I did Steve's mod: took out a spring, clipped off the cap and lubed that nut. Plays like butter! 👍

    The Baretta Special must be modded. The fret work is so bad on these guitars, it took me 6 hours to level, crown, and dress the frets. Not a bad guitar once the fret work is done. I also swapped the bridge for a Babicz bridge and I dropped a Seymour Duncan in it.

    Best mod is the nut. It binds like crazy. I can hear the tension coming out of the strings after i play it. Sounds like a pick landed on the strings. Very weird to hear that. I bought a black one for a project guitar to learn installing and setting up a Floyd rose special bridge and nut. Also got D'Adarrio locking tuners. All black hardware. Bought a used JB cheap but the stock pickup is really nice. Will be starting it after i finish building an amp. Soon. If I only did one mod it would be a Graphtech XL nut. I do hate the tuners but they will stay in tune once you go back and forth in the sloppy gears. Takes patience which i don't have. 😊

    I got one 2 weeks ago from a guy who bought 2 of them but decided to sell one. It was still in the Box from Sweetwater. I paid $150.00 for it. When I opened the box and ran my hand down the fretboard , yes it had the dreaded fretsprout so they are not all the same.. Once I got it home i took care of that and put a Wilkenson Bridge on it and clipped the resistor on the volume pot which took care of the on off thing. It plays just great , well worth the $150 dollars.I only had 7 guitars so I definetely needed another one..LOL

    The biggest tip I have read is to remove the middle spring, and adjust the vibrato bridge as needed. This lets the bridge float somewhat, and let's you push and pull.

  • @satchrules101
    @satchrules101 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was very close to mod it , but thank his God I came to my senses it’s not worth putting a great humbucker in it or a Floyd … waste of money of great parts on a cheaply made guitar .. but it’s fun have it at home if inspiration comes to write something.

  • @aplanebagel

    I really wanted to upgrade the bridge but then I compared the sustain of my baretta to tribute legacy with a full block trem bridge and I couldn't measure a significant difference in my daw with gain matched... so I made a mend with it , might change the saddles, the nut and the tuners though.
    I like the treble bleed somehow it works in my work flow. I mostly record with it so it's handy to be able to dish out some of the bass like I can on my G&Ls and their PTB system. I get it might not be an 80s rockers' ear pleaser, but I find a lot of usefulness of that shitty bleed :) :P
    Cool video ! amazing guitars !

    • @WickedFesterBand
      @WickedFesterBand  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very cool! I can’t say the block size really makes a difference either. I just like the beefier block as it seemed more sturdy. On the one I replaced just the block. Like $22 now. And hey, if the treble bleed works for your needs that’s great!

    It still baffles me that you get this guitar for 200 dollars. The neck on it is just incredible and so is the finish. It's just so easy to play. Another thing I've noticed on this guitar is the resonance. While I don't know if tone wood is a thing, i definitely like resonant guitar because they feel good to play and this thing is incredible. I've actually tried ibanez, epiphones and ESP guitar which are 4 or 5 times the price and they all seem dead to me in comparison.
    Also I totally agree with you. It sounds great as is but what makes this guitar an absolute steal is that with some upgraded hardware and mods it becomes a top of the line guitar because that resonance and neck belongs on a 1000 dollar guitar.

    • @WickedFesterBand
      @WickedFesterBand  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly! I don’t believe in tone wood but I do love the feedback of feeling the guitar vibrate in my hands. Thanks for watching!

    The tone you have there is tremendous. Favor, since you have several samples, would you be able to weigh the guitars and give an average weight? Due to shoulder pain I elected not to get the Pacer Classic, for a small thin guitar it weighs a ton, 8+ pounds.

    • @WickedFesterBand
      @WickedFesterBand  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t have a proper scale, but using the bathroom scales both come in at about 8 1/2 lbs. I think that is normal for a Baretta cause of the wood they use. It says it’s mahogany and the weight feels right for that. Basswood would be what to look for. It is light.
