But what she's not saying is that her idea of renegotiating was to stay with the label and give them just one album and leave to sign up with ROC Nation. Shes also playing games when she says that Roc Nation doesn't get any of her album sales... What she's not telling us is that the reason she wants to do her one album and drop her current label is so she can then legally sign a deal with Roc Nation and at that point ROC NATION will be able to rebrand her and start recouping money off her steams and any other money they help her earn through marketing, tv, movies, commercials, tours,, ect... Roc Nation is about to help her get over $100-$150 million dollars worth of deals over the next 7 years or so. But her current record label will get there 30% cut of any deals she signs while still under there contract. Roc Nation will only get maybe 10% of all that money for helping get those deals. But if they can get megan out of her current contract, then Roc Nation can get that 30% of the $150,000+ million dollars instead of 10%. So Roc Nation needs her out of her current contract as of yesterday so they can proceed with getting her those deals that are waiting. Any deal she signs now will all go to her current label 1501 no matter what Roc Nation does.

Great interview. Angie does great interviews. She truly is a people person, that really connects with her guest. Only one criticism. It really baffles me how people make it so hard to understand the concept of an EP (Extended Play). It's like most people can't understand that all collections of music aren't an album, there are EPs and mixtapes, some artist call something in-between those or are those "projects." It confuses the public and potentially hurts the artist's elevation when people think they're putting out their album, than the EP or mixtape that it is.

But what she's not saying is that her idea of renegotiating was to stay with the label and give them just one album and leave to sign up with ROC Nation. Shes also playing games when she says that Roc Nation doesn't get any of her album sales... What she's not telling us is that the reason she wants to do her one album and drop her current label is so she can then legally sign a deal with Roc Nation and at that point ROC NATION will be able to rebrand her and start recouping money off her steams and any other money they help her earn through marketing, tv, movies, commercials, tours,, ect... Roc Nation is about to help her get over $100-$150 million dollars worth of deals over the next 7 years or so. But her current record label will get there 30% cut of any deals she signs while still under there contract. Roc Nation will only get maybe 10% of all that money for helping get those deals. But if they can get megan out of her current contract, then Roc Nation can get that 30% of the $150,000+ million dollars instead of 10%. So Roc Nation needs her out of her current contract as of yesterday so they can proceed with getting her those deals that are waiting. Any deal she signs now will all go to her current label 1501 no matter what Roc Nation does.

Only one criticism. It really baffles me how people make it so hard to understand the concept of an EP (Extended Play). It's like most people can't understand that all collections of music aren't an album, there are EPs and mixtapes, some artist call something in-between those or are those "projects." It confuses the public and potentially hurts the artist's elevation when people think they're putting out their album, than the EP or mixtape that it is.
