Probably her store. She knows exactly what is up.
That is what an experienced member of staff in the jewellery industry looks like. professional, discreet, and always alert.
What really makes a difference is how calmly she does it too, would just look like her supporting some weight while leaning to a person not trying to rob the store.
Jewellery is shit
Yeah.. i dont know why there were question marks.. she knew exactly what just happened
Yeah and the fact that its a staged video.
Unlike that one lady that let the guy take the diamond 💎 outside "to see its colors in the sun"... he ran, and she stayed there shocked 😅.
Everyone is surprised, but that's standard procedure.
A worker having a sense of security for something that valuable is necessary
Right? Everyone is going "omg look a worker doing their job. Give them a raise for doing basic product protection." Not to say this was cool, just not that special.
@@ThatNathDude Indeed, I am glad people at least are recognizing a good worker
I really recommend using a double door in these kind of stores aswell. You cannot leave or enter without permission of the store.
it's the rizz with which she places the hand on the jewel
I think the opposite. This shows people who may not know that this is how common of a thing retail workers have to deal with. Giving praise on somebody who probably never hears it is hardly a bad thing.
Retail loss prevention here. Yes, that’s exactly what was going to happen. It’s a very common tactic to distract the employee by asking them to see another item, then when their back is turned, just grab the item and either straight up walk away and out the door or swap it out with a fake (in the case of jewelry). The employee did exactly what she was trained to do. If you are ever showing expensive merchandise to a customer, never let them take your eyes off the merchandise. I would have done it a bit differently and said to only show one item at a time; if you want to see a different thing, the first one goes back in the case because at that point, they could just straight up grab both things and run.
Yeah happened at my job with my cashier (I'm an assistant manager.) I was finishing up duties in the back as she was ringing up the last customers, who had a decent sized cart of things. As they were leaving, she noticed something fall out of the bag that she didn't think she scanned and after she told me and I watched the cameras back out turns out they did something similar. The woman asked her for some things in our display case and while this was happening the guy was attempting to put clothes not scanned into the bag of the already scanned merchandise. He only got one in and looked to be about to try another when he froze and glanced back, a moment later I had come up front, so I'm guessing me appearing thwarted him from adding to it.
We use 2 stage doors
Thank you, Captain Obvious. 🥱

Some commenters claimed that the girl wasnt a thief just wanted a closer inspection. Regarldess, the shopkeeper did not prevent them from seeing the product, just not touch it when her attention is elsewhere. She blocked it and then open it once she has her attention back. Maybe the shopkeeper knew or a company policy or simply trained into force of habit.
Point being, it is a good first line of defense to prevent snatch thief
There's an item in the girls hand when she reaches, possibly a fake of the jewelry. I've seen videos of people replacing the task thing with something that looks like it. It seems that this was their plan.
yeah sure, that's why they walk out the very second as they realize they can not get their hands on the jewel unattended
Agreed plus if the girl wanted to take closer inspection then why cant she ask to take a closer inspection when the shopkeepers attention in on them?
That was not the impression this gives. The girl didn't try to "look" at it again once the shopkeeper took her hand off of it. Either way, the shopkeeper prevented a situation.
Yes, I worked in a jewellery shop for 10 years, doing things like this is second nature to prevent theft. No matter if we get a bad vibe or not.

She then said she would take them & I told her the price, she said oh that’s more than what it adds up to & I said yes but it includes the bottle of perfume you put in your bag - her face was a picture & she said oh I thought it came with those - she paid up. To be honest I wasn’t sure it washer, I just noticed it had disappeared & it was an expensive brand new bottle selling for less than a quarter of the original. She still got a bargain- just not free as she had hoped.
The way she just calmy put her hand over the jewelry was so smooth and so genius. She definitely has been working for a while if she's just used to putting her hand over the jewelry.

I actually fell for that once, needles to say I had to pay from my pocket to the store the difference. The next time this son of a gun showed up, he tried to do it again, but this time instead of putting the bill inside the register i put it under a calculator or the stapler, and when he tried to do his thing, I showed him the bill he gave me, and he insinuate that I was trying to con him, I just asked him for a minute and we could pull from the security cameras to make sure. To no one surprised he said : “oh, it’s ok, I’m in a hurry”. I alerted all my co workers. Funny thing he tried to do again when I wasn’t around.
