That is what an experienced member of staff in the jewellery industry looks like. professional, discreet, and always alert.
What really makes a difference is how calmly she does it too, would just look like her supporting some weight while leaning to a person not trying to rob the store.
Jewellery is shit
Yeah.. i dont know why there were question marks.. she knew exactly what just happened
Yeah and the fact that its a staged video.
Unlike that one lady that let the guy take the diamond 💎 outside "to see its colors in the sun"... he ran, and she stayed there shocked 😅.
Very experienced shopkeeper!! She deserves a raise!!

I think it's stage for some kind of video training to the new employees or somethin but yeah it's a pretty good trick.
Bruh she's probably the owner 😂

Also careful not to be too obvious about it.
Yes. That was a smooth move 👍
All she did was put her hands on it
@@PixelWrld1537 hand not hand's. And she did way more than that
I've been combing through the comments to see if anyone notice that this wasn't just an attempt to steal the jewel. It was more sophisticated than that. If you look closely the girl had a replica of that piece of jewelry in her hand and what they were trying to do is perform a bait and switch. A much better way to steal without being noticed. This way they could just walk away without setting off any alarms. The boyfriend probably thought the plan was a success.
Wow!! Great catch!! Just saw the video again after reading ur coment
@@Archuarchu11 yup 👍🏽 no one picked up on that.

yeah there was another couple that did that, hit up small unsuspecting jewelry stores and switched em i think they stole like over 20 million, they definitely only had one piece in mind to steal. This way they can always lie there way out of it and avoid blatant camera evidence.
Her attire is built for it as well - denim jacket, relaxed fit, loose on the arms, can snake the fake out the sleeve and snake the real up the sleeve

She was not trained. This is just learned from experience. Anyone trained in Asset Protection knows to never take your eyes off of the customer or the merchandise. She should have moved the box over in front of her when she went to go grab the next item

You must be white cause I feel accused just walking in store to BUY things most the time 😂
Customers who were looking at the bracelets she was getting wouldn’t have noticed at all.
Yes! I've also had a clerk pick up the tray and bring it with them to add the other items I'm interested in--it never occured to me at the time that it was anything other than arranging them to present them to me! 😊
The public wearing masks must be a challenge for security everywhere!
She's sharp, aware, experienced, & did it with subtle class
The way she put her hand on the jewel was subtle and non accusing I love it
Very much so, she made sure she waited until facing away as to imply is regular practice versus assumption. Id hope this is standard at most places
She nearly had that Dr. Seuss finger flourish

Some commenters claimed that the girl wasnt a thief just wanted a closer inspection. Regarldess, the shopkeeper did not prevent them from seeing the product, just not touch it when her attention is elsewhere. She blocked it and then open it once she has her attention back. Maybe the shopkeeper knew or a company policy or simply trained into force of habit.
Point being, it is a good first line of defense to prevent snatch thief
There's an item in the girls hand when she reaches, possibly a fake of the jewelry. I've seen videos of people replacing the task thing with something that looks like it. It seems that this was their plan.
yeah sure, that's why they walk out the very second as they realize they can not get their hands on the jewel unattended
Agreed plus if the girl wanted to take closer inspection then why cant she ask to take a closer inspection when the shopkeepers attention in on them?
Yes, I worked in a jewellery shop for 10 years, doing things like this is second nature to prevent theft. No matter if we get a bad vibe or not.
It's funny that she only wanted to "look" when the jeweler wasn't
She knew it right away when the guy was pointing to the object away from the girl. And she gave that girl a quick, evaluating look. Good job
She didn't know. She just protected from them stealing it. She would have also done the same if it was someone who doesn't have any intention of stealing thing(s).
She didn't know they were trying to steal. She did it out of habit. That's why she looked confused when they walked away
Those ppl were not going to buy anyways (look how they walked in and pointed to something so fast immediately without the typical “browsing around”…..a smart salesperson especially in jewelry business would catch that based on observation. That jeweler knew and she is not having it. Not today.
@@Danny-pk4ge Exactly this. Dude didn't even glance at the first piece before pointing to the second one.
He hardly even looked at the object, he just pointed at the next one so quickly. So silly!
Their reaction to being blocked made it pretty clear that paying for those items was not their intention.
I could have stolen everything …they are noobs

The fact that they walked out almost immediately after her failed attempted shows they were trying to steal

Her hand just started to move towards the item the fact they walked out pronto gave the game away could have stayed a bit longer and made polite excuses. The would be thief did have nice hair

In Canada, in places where you cand find a bunch of homeless/people living of the government, jewelry stores required clerk to open door electronically, once you enter, door is locked automatically twice by 2 different mechanisms, making it impossible to steal and anything suspicious can trigger police request if something goes south.
The fact that the girl instantly retracted her hand when the woman covered the jewelry speaks volumes. Also the fact that they walked away just moments later when they seemed so interested only a little while earlier.

She wont get a raise, thats why most don't care.
She's the owner of the store
You’re right because they’ll say it’s not my loss! We don’t have people who take pride in their jobs anymore; they could care less.
@@debrajones4010bad pay, bad work, good pay, good work, its really that simple
@@debrajones4010 that's the exact response they should have. these fucking companies deserve much more than not pathetic employees who couldn't care less
the way that man pretended to wanna see something else was so smooth but the worker was even smoother
And the bad guys worked together
Smooth but probably in the jewelry thieves handbook which this owner or employee has read cover to cover.
Wasn't smooth at all. He spent NO time looking at the first piece. Obvious set up.
he actually wasnt very smooth.. why ask to look at one thing then immediately ask to see antoher without looking at the first one.. that doesnt make sense to me. good on the clerk though
Smooth vs smoov... Smoov wins every time
The shop I work at requires us to only show one piece at a time, so we have to replace each piece before taking the next one out. It's specifically to prevent theft like this attempt.
She really meant "not today" 💀

Jewelry stores should have two or more people attending the customers!!
I agree. There was a jewerly shop i use to go to to pay a bill at since they did it, and they always had two people up front at all times. Sometimes three people.
You are only seeing one small corner of the storefront….for all any of us know there was someone else there, perhaps helping another customer, perhaps only just out of camera view, right next to the gal we can see.

even so, if that girl grabbed it, SHE would have seen it gone when she turned her head back.
She knows how to stop it before it even happens! Props to her 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💪🏼
Homegirl said “not today bitch” without saying anything 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's possible that the girl just wanted to look at it and not steal it.

I used to be a guard in a jewelry section and I had to stare at the items when the sales person's back was turned.
Must’ve felt nice as a security job ngl, i bet u always wished somebody had the guts to steal it😂
Unlikely, jewellers don't turn their backs while someone has an item and they don't pull out more then one
@@Gafweebo Yes they do.

Depends on the state laws if you were allowed to get physical or not. Some states your not allowed to stop thieves.

I was the manager of a liquor store for over 20 years. After a while I got to the point where I would suspect every single person who walked in.

Yo that's what I'm saying. Is this not protocol. Don't they say never leave merchandise out of your sight?
@@miguelorengojr.3654I never worked in a jewelry store, but I do have some experience working in several stores, different variety of products. Unfortunately not a lot of employers train their employees well, sometimes we need to figure things out ourselves. It's even worse when you have a boss that's like "figure it out yourself" and scold you publicly if your action wasn't up to their standard. Shaming culture is especially common and deeply rooted here in Asia, so there's that too
WHAT THE F* DO YOU MEAN "POSSIBLY" PREVENTED A THEFT!?! It's clear as day she tried to grab the product while the jewelry wasn't watching
This is actually epic. I would never have thought to do that, or even suspect theft like that in the first place. Whether she was trained, or she did it on her own, mad respect.
The ones you wouldn't expect it from are the ones.
I think you should look up the definition of the word "epic", she just did her job...
I'm sure she was trained
It’s staged for a video man. Lol
As a former jewelry salesman I was told never to let them take out more than one piece at a time and this is the reason right here lol
What would you do if someone had narrowed down their selection to a couple of items and wanted to see both to really compare the differences?
