2005 Ford F-150. Thank you very much...ordered parts and install took less than two hours for my son and even after forgetting the hands free microphone the first time. Used the butt-to-butt connectors instead of soldering. Great video and clear precise description. Radio even has more 'kick' with the factory speakers. 5 Stars!!!
This video is extremely informative. I never heard of the brand, I took you up & this & just received today everything you listed. I can’t wait to get it installed, I also purchased the backup camera for my 2004 f150. Thanks!

Found this video because I'm trying to add a USB charger in the dash like he did at the bottom. Where do I find power for that? Can I just go in series with the lighter socket right next to it?
The adapter for the radio antenna. I bought the black part listed. And the orange is apart of the car. But they don’t connect to eachother. What is that black piece that’s connects the two?
That mounting kit sucks. Had mine break off the other day. The Kenwood stereo I have is heavy and broke the plastic mount. It should be made of metal and not plastic. You did exactly what I did when installing the radio. Dumb that we have to cut off the back pieces for the F150
I just put mine in, and the biggest question got answered. That center plus that was in the stock stereo I guess does not get utilized? I have to take mine back out since I think the driver side speakers are not putting out sound. Might have to either do a new crimp job or do like you did, Sauter them together
The harness that came with my aftermarket radio has a blue/white wire for a remote output, and also the metra harness i got has a blue/white wire for amp turn-on. Do i connect those two and then additionally connect the two blue/white wires that are attached to the harness for my factory sub that came with the truck?
Wired color for color, everything's working but the radio doesn't power off when key is removed from the ignition? It can be manually powered off and comes back on with settings saved the next time the car is started.
You most likely have the wrong harness adapter. There are a few variables there of why it's doing that, but without knowing the year, trim, radio, and adapter parts, hard to diagnose your issue.
Did anyone figure what the smaller plug does? I installed a Kenwood and just tucked this behind. I had Satellite radio and unplugged a 3rd plug from the receiver which I ditched for a Serious unit.
I tried this on my 2007 ford f150. I plugged the unit in and it was unresponsive. Tried to reset it and still nothing. I tested and there is power going to the end of the harness so I am wondering if you know why this could be happening?
On most brands, yes, you can simple ground it to the black ground wire. On Pioneer and Alpine units, you will need a bypass, or hook the parking brake wire up properly.
I have tried twice. I have wired up a wire kit for my F150 when I plug into the factory harness the radio doesn't have power to radio I've heard someone tell me to hook red to yellow but scared that burn up something

why doesn’t my antenna adapter on the orange cable have a black tip on it , i can’t connect the radio wire too my stereo with the cable i got with the harness, anyone know if i can use a different cable or what i can do?
Sounds like you have a big mess on your hands. Either find a new harness to repair the old one, or else you may have to pull wiring diagrams online to see what wire does what.
Question, ive got a 07 f150 Harley Davidson with Sirius XM on the stock radio. Do i need to buy the Sirius XM tuner to keep Sirius XM feature on my new Kenwood Sirius XM ready double din?
No need to connect it until we add a backup camera down the road. One wasn't being installed on that specific vehicle, but we kept it accessible until one was.
I installed a pioneer fh-s520bt and with a SWRFD-60 harness but I’m getting static from my speakers and humming from my subwoofer does anybody know why
Great video! Short and to the point. I am soon to install a different 2 din stereo in my 2006 Ford F150 FX4, no steering or amp. Dash kit is on and waiting for the wire harness and ant adapter from amazon. I noticed the factory radio had two wire harnesses and the new install only needed to connect to the larger harness, leaving one existing harness unused. Am I correct in seeing it that way?
Sometimes the blue or blue / white wire on the adapter harness controls an antenna amplifier. If that isn't hooked up, reception can be poor. I'd check that connection.
