Mine died this year. Parents were never real parents. Was taught minimal things by my dad, he never wanted to do anything or hard to get him to teach anything. I kinda wish I was allowed to do some kind of scout program and do things like this. Came across the channel looking up how to do something and one of his videos was one of the results.
I have never made a s'more in my life, although I have wanted to for a long time. Neither of my parents, both of whom are now deceased, were the s'more-making type, so until I watched this video I thought the opportunity had passed me by. Thank you for posting it. I will use this video while I attempt to make my own s'mores next week after I go to the store. Thanks for doing what you do!
Hi, my English is bad, so I use a translator. I want to say thank you for being there! I remember subscribing to your channel after my father came home drunk again. You helped me a lot!
I felt really bad for a second because when I saw this video I thought "who the hell doesn't know how to start a fire and make s'mores?" and then I realized I had a father figure in my life to teach me how to do it. Seeing your videos make me appreciate my father figures alot more, and help me realize how lucky I am. I don't get to see my father too often anymore because I live 2 thousand miles away from him, But having him in my life as a kid until I moved out is something took for granted until I saw your channel.
Some people also like grew up in a flat. Or in my case. You never really make a fire at home and the only time you have ever roasted marshmallows was over the bbq. And or you are a girl. With a brother and well "it's a mans job"..

My dad is around but he's not the teaching type. He's usually the one who starts the fireplace in the winter. When he's not home it falls to me and sometimes it's difficult. Thank you for the video.

We recently went camping. We are in our 60s. We spent at least an hour trying to make a camp fire. It was a frustrating experience. We finally got it going but we’re too exhausted to enjoy it. LOL. We came home and watched some videos. One guy was amazing and made a fire using wet wood and duct tape rolls believe it or not. He wanted to show how to make a fire even in the rain. Anyhow, your video showed how important kindling is. We thought we used a sure thing. We read that you can stuff toilet paper rolls with dryer lint but it didn’t work too well. This was so helpful. Patience is definitely key. Also, can you believe I’ve never had a s’more? Thank you for this wonderful video. And your garden is spectacular.
I'm always delighted to watch your videos when they come out. Expectations are always met and its so nice to see someone with genuine heart making content for others on TH-cam.
Your channel should come with a "LOVE" option. "LIKE" doesn't seem strong enough. Sometimes,I watch you for the content that I need to teach my little man. Sometimes, I watch you to remind myself that good men do still exist. Thank you for what you are doing. You, sir, are a blessing.
My dad used to take my brothers and I camping, but I haven't seen any of them in four years and I just miss them. It sucks because before he left, he was basically the best part of my life. I've moved on but it still gets to me sometimes. I was watching falsettos and I love that Jason has like three dad's.

Thanks for the tips Dad! I recently found your channel and I've watched all your videos. Unfortunately, my Dad passed away when I was 14 and your videos always cheer me up. I'm planning on visiting my boyfriend in the U.S., who's new house has a fire pit, and I've been wanting to making s'mores with him - I've never had one before. I'll be sure to use your tips once I'm able to fly over and visit him!
Another few tips for deep woods camping. 1) use dry, fast burning wood to start, like pine and then add heavier dense wood laterwhen the heat can handle it, like oak (make sure everything is cut small enough to allow easy burning). 2) if you're overwhelmed with tall trees that block out any wind in your area (inhibiting airflow and constant oxygen), just blow a fan on it on the light setting from a safe distance (don't use any setting that causes burning papers or embers to be blown away). 3) please make sure you're being safe with over lying brush that could take a flame. Burn within your means and always be aware of how your fire might interact with the forest/buildings around you. Cut away any overhanging limbs within 5 to 6 feet from the top of your fire.
Ran and tried it out on a charcoal grill - It works - Thanks for the lessons. My father passed about 6 years ago. You really are a great help to those of us without someone to teach us just the simple things in life.

My Dad didn't have a Dad growing up - so he's struggled my entire life on how to be a Father to me. I learned a lot from him about tools and building things - he definitely did that right and never made me feel like - as a girl - I don't need to know these types of things. I had a project I wanted to do in my studio - something simple - cutting some wood and giving it a clear coat to make a solid surface on a wire shelf. And I did it without losing any fingers! I was pretty proud of myself...and I thought about you and your channel :) I'm so fortunate that - even though my Dad was not the nicest person when I was growing up - that he still let me know that I could do anything I wanted to. I just wanted to say thank you for making this channel. My dad passed away when I was 10 and your channel has helped me quite a bit. I hope you have an awesome day☺️
Just remember to be patient with the fire. Some times the kindling doesnt catch fire right away because it is not dry enough, the weather is damp.or windy just try again
Hi there! Thank you so much for posting all of these videos. I bought s’mores supplies at the grocery store last week and this video comes in handy for that! But also, I had some minor car trouble today. I have triple A but my first instinct was to call my dad. We don’t have the best relationship and his first reaction was to yell at me. I was in a different state than him, so I couldn’t really ask for his help or for him to come get me. But his words made me very upset when I was already frustrated. Everything worked out just fine and I was able to drive the car to my house without any problems, thankfully. But I’m going to call my car dealership first thing in the morning to look at my car (the check engine light turned on but then turned itself off after I was sitting on the side of the road for 15 minutes waiting for the tow truck.) I watched all of your car videos and they were so helpful. Thank you for your calm and resourceful videos. P.S. after a long and nerve wracking drive home, hearing your “dad joke” made me genuinely laugh out loud!
Thanks for the encouragement Kaitlin, glad you made it home safe. You can have the check engine light checked for free at Autozone, or O'Reillys, or most auto parts stores.
eu tenho um pai, mas vim aqui admirar esse moço. Senhor, saiba que todas as crianças que não tem um pai são extremamente gratos pelos seus vídeos. Muito sucesso para você ❤
I always burn the marshmallows but I've learned to oh and As a pro tip you can give the Firestarter a light spray of olive oil* that'll help it burn for a bit longer to assist the kindling as well i learned this from a scout master from when i was in the scouts *it doesn't matter the grade of olive oil either
Love it! Maybe add an addendum about having a bucket of water or sand nearby, and also how to properly put it out? (I was taught: bucket of water, churn ashes, and repeat until you see nothing glowing.) Also, now I'm hungry. :D Thanks, Dad!
And to always check 1) your local regulations and 2) DNR reports for burn advisories. @Dad, Not nit-picking, just trying to be helpful and safe. Love your videos!
In the Scouts, in my time the traditional way to extinguish the camp fire was to....well, you know, a sort of male incontinence thing (if you catch my drift). Checking the wind direction first.
Thank you for helping us with simple things. Im really happy that I found this channel and you. I don't have a proper relationship with my biological dad and these videos make me very happy bc it feels like you're actually teaching me all these cool things and being a dad to me and all these other watchers and stuff. The dad jokes make my day too. Thank you.
Hey “dad”, 27 year old here! Love your channel!! Video suggestion since I went to look up how to clean my garbage disposal and prefer your advice. Thanks for being millennials’ dads ❤️

This is so great! Sitting by a fire is so nourishing with or without the s'mores. And if you want the s'more experience and can't make a fire for a while , we can roast the marshmallows over the kitchen stove.

I just wanted to say thank you for making this channel. My dad passed away when I was 10 and your channel has helped me quite a bit. I hope you have an awesome day☺️
Thanks for being the best internet dad 🥺
I grew up thinking I was better off without a dad till I found this channel. It won't fill 15 years but it will help.
Oh wow, that wasn’t so hard! What was I doing all my life... 😭😭😭 I can’t wait for my next campfire experience!!!
Dry wood and kindling are key 🔑 👌
Just remember to be patient with the fire. Some times the kindling
doesnt catch fire right away because it is not dry enough, the weather is damp.or windy just try again
Dad, how do I? Thanks for the tip! I live down the street from an autozone! Let’s hope my car can make it lol
eu tenho um pai, mas vim aqui admirar esse moço. Senhor, saiba que todas as crianças que não tem um pai são extremamente gratos pelos seus vídeos. Muito sucesso para você ❤
You’re like the dad I’ve never had, thank you so much man
I always burn the marshmallows but I've learned to oh and
As a pro tip you can give the Firestarter a light spray of olive oil* that'll help it burn for a bit longer to assist the kindling as well i learned this from a scout master from when i was in the scouts
*it doesn't matter the grade of olive oil either
I have a great dad but I still watch these because they are so entirely wholesome. 💛
Love it! Maybe add an addendum about having a bucket of water or sand nearby, and also how to properly put it out? (I was taught: bucket of water, churn ashes, and repeat until you see nothing glowing.)
Also, now I'm hungry. :D Thanks, Dad!
And to always check 1) your local regulations and 2) DNR reports for burn advisories.
@Dad, Not nit-picking, just trying to be helpful and safe. Love your videos!
A good indicator for that is that there is no more steam coming form the extinguished fire if you put it out with water
Thank you.
I only laugh at Chandler Bing's jokes but when out internet dad makes Dad jokes I'll laugh and enjoy no matter what
Hey “dad”, 27 year old here! Love your channel!! Video suggestion since I went to look up how to clean my garbage disposal and prefer your advice. Thanks for being millennials’ dads ❤️
“Hey kids” *heart melts *
Hey Dad! Love what your doing. I was sitting this morning and saw ABC 13 run your story it touched me to see the amazing display of your character. So I thought I would look at some of the wonderful things you share from your Daily Walk through life. Keep it up and I wish you the best. God is good 🙏 😇 and you are as well. Just wanted to comment and say your amazing much love Brother!
Thanks for encouragement.
God is good! 🙏
Hey I never learned this! Thanks internet dad! (I feel like I would be betraying my own dad if I just say “thanks dad” so I always add “internet” haha)
This is so great! Sitting by a fire is so nourishing with or without the s'mores. And if you want the s'more experience and can't make a fire for a while , we can roast the marshmallows over the kitchen stove.
This is my only source of serotonin thanks for making these videos
Every kids dream ❤️❤️ a super dad
As a single mom I was clueless on this! Thank you for this video!!!
Thanks Dad!
Love this channel. Thank you. Hello from Russia with love.
Nice, glad you are here from Russia 🇷🇺 🙏
Most of the s’mores I’ve had have had cold center marshmallows. Now I know the secret
I do my best to watch every video I see of yours, whether its on a skill I know or not. This is such a wholesome channel and I always love watching your videos
Hey Dad! I've missed you!
Hey Angel! 😃🙏
@@DadhowdoI Thank you. 😃 This totally made my day!😄
