Dude Perfect8 And people compare today’s players to the 2000s like it was eerily similar. This was still a highly non-efficient era as a whole. Tim Duncan was rivaling guards today with inflation. It was a different game.
Kobe was crazy back in 06. This video among other shows how you could still be physical with Kobe despite the rule changes back then. He would have averaged around 45 ppg if he would have got the D-wade, Lebron, Iverson, etc. treatment. Had to take 27 shots just to get 10 freethrow attempts per game.
I like these kinds of highlights, they show the missed shots too. And seeing Kobe air balling with Tony Allen on him then accepting the challenge to go right back at him and be aggressive to score is a beauty to watch. Players in the NBA now will just assume they cant score against Allen so they will pass it up instead, but Kobe said "fuck that, gimme the ball back!"
6:20 hard to believe he didn't get a call on this play...but then again he's Kobe so very believable. And they wonder why his shooting % ain't at 50...that happens to him multiple times per game.
One thing you can say for sure is Kobe never had that super special treatment from the Refs. Jordan had it at times. Lebron had it his whole career. But believe it or not, I have never seen a player with more favor from referees than James Harden. If you watched as much basketball as I have, you would agree.
lakers did TBH imma laker fan but 02 lakers and the later 2 peat. we had some special treatment not as significant as Lebron and wade had tho lol but particularly Kobe, he was not a ref fav at all. from 05-08 at least. four seasons, he was the best player on the floor or at least the first team player. But he didnt be treated like others. not even rising stars like wade and lbj back in the days
Announcer said Tony Allen was "6 inches shorter than Kobe", than later "Believe me when I tell you TA is at least 4 or 5 inches shorter than Bryant"... Kobe is listed at 6'6'' and TA is listed at listed at 6'4''. Oh and yeah, the refs in this game are trash..
TheDJIdris and Kobe & Shaq, two of the most legendary players ever were on a team together only two years before hand not to mention Gary Payton & Karl Malone
In Tommy Heinsons demented mind Kobe is evil and all Celtics are good. Just goes to show how people can hold face lie to get a advantage. TOMMY wanted so bad for Tony Allen to be the kobe stopper but guess what they never could find a man that can guard Kobe the only one that probably could is referred as the goat and flies through the air better know as MJ. Tommy Heinson please bow down to Kobe for he may have mercy on you and only score 35 the next time
I came down to see the comments before I watched and I'm like the refs couldn't of been that bad.. But after watching Kobe get absolutely hacked. I see what you guys were saying he should of had AT LEAST 50
At 5:57 if any1 else took that shot including MJ, it would have been an airball. Look at Kobe's face after that shot... He isn't even sweating at all after having to work that hard.. he had incredible endurance and speed back then.
Kobe with the Harden treatment would average 55 points in todays NBA lmao. This dude was so quick, had all the hops, and ALL the shots a two guard can have to go with a killer handle. Most lethal scorer of all time but not the most consistent, that goes to MJ. Unbelievable work ethic to develop such skill.
Have you see the degree of difficulty on Kobe's shots? Have you seen him play against the best defenders in the NBA? Have you see them put bigger defenders on him to make his shot tougher? Kobe gets everybodys best game every fucking night! Shooting percentage doesnt matter. He still puts up the points and is still 5th all time in scoring. I will take that over 43% shooting anyday!
I believe Kobe would have more rings than Jordan if he had the same caliber of players as Jordan did during his reign. Scott Pippen is a Hall Of Famer. Look up the teammates that Kobe played with after Shaq left and before Pau Gasol showed up. Most of them were journey men players a best. No All Stars! Kwame Brown and Smush Parker should have never plaed in the NBA and they were starters for Lakers It's amazing Kobe was able to accomplish what he did during this time!
@4thwonder A better when you take in perspective. There were at lest 2 guys guarding in every play sometimes 3. To shoot and carry a team to victory is great.
Damn didn’t realize at the time how awful the referees were in this game. Celtics was fouling Kobe all game long with no calls. He didn’t even get his first three throw attempt until 3 minutes into the 3rd quarter for cryin out loud. Should’ve been another 50 point game on his resume.
Kobe Bryant is so good that they must have made a whole different book for how to referee him. I don't think that that's fair, but it's obvious that normal rules don't apply to him for some reason. :{ ...(angry)
07-08 MVP, four time All Star MVP, two time scoring champion, multiple records set by him (youngest to get to any milestones), nine time All-Defense 1st team, ten time All-NBA first team, fourteen time All-Star (started each one), 5th all time leading scorer in NBA history, 5 time champion (led the lakers to two consecutive titles which had not been done in years), two time Bill Russell Finals MVP....you are right, total fraud
Damn, even as a Celtics fan, the atmosphere in the Garden was abysmal for this game. I mean it's a regular season game between two middling teams, but still, it's Celtics-Lakers!
I remember watching the NBA this season thinking how terrible the defense was because they just took out hand checking the year before but my god you watch this game vs a game now and it's like night and day. Allen would have fouled out the first 6 times down the floor if you applied the freedom of movement rules in this game lol
I featured clips from this video on my channel and credited this original video in a pinned comment under it, as well as in the description. I would like to get a hold of you to continuously share the ad revenue from the videos with you. But if you want them removed I will do that too.
@bball4life2123 seriously 18 for 39 isn't great but it's pretty good. Going 50% or better is great so being right under it ain't bad. And come on we all noticed at least 5 no calls resulting in missed shots. Yea I know shit happens but it's still not fair to hold player accountable to bad refs. AND they won the game...Why does it seem Kobe is the only player that gets bashed even through wins? AND look at the player he played with their lack of skill brings Kobe's efficiency down.
@bball4life2123 1st off thats almost 47% fg, which is not bad. 2nd he had a great defensive player in tony allen guarding him most of the game, 3rd when u have players like kwame brown and smush parker in the starting lineup, kobe should take as many shots as he wants
Lebron wish have Kobe's foot work nobody dares Kobe to trow a shot not like that spurs did to lebron i,he got lucky the ray alen save his ass at game 6
luis carillo And who exactly did a whole lot of the work to get them to the final seconds in an elimination game? I bet you think Kyrie saved Lebron, too, even though he scored 41 in back to back games to bring them back into the series and blocked a potentially winning lay-up.
So glad to see this video that highlights just how often Kobe gets fouled. And just like in this vid he gets no call. Peolple who say otherwise do not watch the games I've had the league pass for NBATV since 2003-03 season which by the way was Kobe's best individual season to date and I aint talkin stats I'm talkin straight ballin, Anywayz...this has been happening to him since then.
Who cares about total points? Why, everyone. Part of being great is the ability to sustain your greatness throughout a career. He just finished his 16th year and is STILL averaging 27.9 PPG. 30 PPG in the Playoffs. It's only going to go up with Nash helping him rest his legs. The totals are going to stack up when it's all said and done, and Kobe will be the GOAT.
Great defenders know how to use help defense really well to their advantage it's not always about 1on1 defense. Tony allen could play much better defense if it was the 08celtics
I was at this game. RIP BLACKMAMBA most skilled player ever
this was a 50 point game if it was ref'd properly. Unbelievable shots
RahulPresentsKobe would of been 60 in today’s weak game.
Dude Perfect8 And people compare today’s players to the 2000s like it was eerily similar. This was still a highly non-efficient era as a whole. Tim Duncan was rivaling guards today with inflation. It was a different game.
I never saw someone get found so many times Kobe is the best
Kobe was crazy back in 06. This video among other shows how you could still be physical with Kobe despite the rule changes back then. He would have averaged around 45 ppg if he would have got the D-wade, Lebron, Iverson, etc. treatment. Had to take 27 shots just to get 10 freethrow attempts per game.
True basically after the Colorado incident the NBA decided to move on from focusing on Kobe as the primary Star of the league.
Couldn't have said it better!!To me, this game was a look into how Kobe would've played in a physical era like the 80s
just finished dealing with a Kobe hater saying he can't score on tough D...smh...people only remember what they want to remember.
Damn kobe in his prime was a fucking monster
I like these kinds of highlights, they show the missed shots too. And seeing Kobe air balling with Tony Allen on him then accepting the challenge to go right back at him and be aggressive to score is a beauty to watch. Players in the NBA now will just assume they cant score against Allen so they will pass it up instead, but Kobe said "fuck that, gimme the ball back!"
that was a foul the airball even the Celtics commentator said it
That's a fact he took on challenges on the court
5:44 was amazing defense by allen.... that shot tho holy shitt...
May his soul find peace in our Father’s heaven, fly high Kobe
This game and the 43 in 06 07 are 2 of my favorite Kobe games of all time. The array of moves and shots are unreal.
RIP GOAT. 💜💛
could of had 50 if the refs were not blind.
You mean 70. lol
dam i miss the old kobe. he looks so light on his feet
this Kobe would destroy today's superstar players! What a BEAST!
Cliff Villanueva of course not Kobe will destroy today soft NBA superstar today
Should've named it Kobe Bryant 2005-06: 43 points vs Tony Allen, Paul Pierce & The Refs
😂😂😂😂😂
6:20 hard to believe he didn't get a call on this play...but then again he's Kobe so very believable. And they wonder why his shooting % ain't at 50...that happens to him multiple times per game.
Tony Allen is a great defender, definitely made Kobe gave his best. For the most part, Kobe really was awesome offensively.
123rockstar2010 yes he was
123rockstar2010 39 shots tho
+Kevin James 46% shooting tho with a win
Jay Money 43 pts on 39 shots!! Thats great defense
+Kevin James 39 shots & about 10 missed calls that should've been free throws.Easily shot over 50% if the refs weren't biased
One thing you can say for sure is Kobe never had that super special treatment from the Refs. Jordan had it at times. Lebron had it his whole career. But believe it or not, I have never seen a player with more favor from referees than James Harden. If you watched as much basketball as I have, you would agree.
But Harden is getting fouled. Clearly called with a little more consistency nowadays
lakers did TBH
imma laker fan
but 02 lakers and the later 2 peat. we had some special treatment
not as significant as Lebron and wade had tho lol
but particularly Kobe, he was not a ref fav at all. from 05-08 at least. four seasons, he was the best player on the floor or at least the first team player. But he didnt be treated like others. not even rising stars like wade and lbj back in the days
Kobe is better at drawing fouls than 99% of the NBA, that's not hard to believe.
Facts. I noticed the same especially during the three peat years. He didn’t go to the line nearly as much as people think he did.
He didn't flop. He'd sell hard contact, which is different.
Dude, Kobe is at 25.6 ppg, and that includes 20 games as a teenager coming off the bench. If you include his time as a starter, he's at 27.4 ppg...
miss how the nba used to be, not teams loaded with 2-3 superstars smh
what are you talking about? the best teams that year were loaded. suns had Nash, prime marion & amare
TheDJIdris and Kobe & Shaq, two of the most legendary players ever were on a team together only two years before hand not to mention Gary Payton & Karl Malone
Jordan, Pippen, Rodman
Magic, Worthy, Kareem
Bird, Parish, McHale
Duncan, Ginobli, Parker
Pierce, Garnett, Allen
This has been a trend for a while...
there use to be more one on ones which was actually fun to see.
*****
hell yeah the kobe vs wades, lebrons vs melos, ai vs vince carter and the list goes onlol
i have every game from this season recorded... nice upload btw
The shot at 5:45 is one of the most insane shots I've ever seen. Love live the Mamba... we love and miss you
how did he miss that lay up at 1:20? That was such a nice crossover
what does it take for kobe to get a call wow, and tony allen is is 6'4 not 5" shorter than kobe
Tommy Heinson please bow down to Kobe for he may have mercy on you and only score 35 the next time
@@kevinaraujo4945 Heinson is a homer
Man no star treatment for Kobe
1:18 crossover god damn prime kobe
sauced piece 😂
Damn... If tony Allen's defense was A+, Kobe's offense is A* and even off the charts
Aaron Tan lol
Back when kobe was athletic and quick some plays look speed up.
Not really, never shot 50% in his life
@@scarykurapika100yago2 if you know basketball, 50% isnt a measure of average and percentages mean nothing.
@@aarontan2197 yes it does, you could really hurt ur team jacking up 30 shots a game with alot of bad shots
kobe led this line up to 7th seed.
In the west which was known as the tougher conference during the 2000s
Look how fast Kobe was. He could school Bron everyday if he is still that Kobe!
Wang Robert Incorrect.
I came down to see the comments before I watched and I'm like the refs couldn't of been that bad.. But after watching Kobe get absolutely hacked. I see what you guys were saying he should of had AT LEAST 50

These Lakers without Kobe would not be competition in the WNBA
Kwame brown on the team Jesus. Lakers really did waste Kobes prime
Kobe is number 2 behind Jordan
Kobe with the Harden treatment would average 55 points in todays NBA lmao. This dude was so quick, had all the hops, and ALL the shots a two guard can have to go with a killer handle. Most lethal scorer of all time but not the most consistent, that goes to MJ. Unbelievable work ethic to develop such skill.
That shot at the 550 mark gave me the chills. Unbelievable defense but Kobe always found a way 🐐
lol at "if they didn't call a foul on that one, kobe would've walked off the floor" :D
glad to see you back, last video was 11 months ago.
that shot at 5:45 tho sheesh
No wonder kobe said Tony Allen the Best to gaurd him.
Kobe on his prime destroyed all these so called great defenders.
If you have more 05-06 please post them. He was so aggressive I learn a lot from that year.
super nice upload man...
awesome kobe game from 05-06... was just another night for kb that season!
with ray Allen pierce lol Kobe owned them by himself
1st clip/highlight of the game!!! THATS THE DIFFERENCE between kobe bryant and eveyone else in his era, not to mention the shots he could hit.
Long time. Great upload.
R.I.P KOBE MY GOD YOUR MISSED!!!
to be fair...Kobe was goin stupid that year puttin up crazy numbers
Just4commentchannel I wonder what LeBron would have averaged like in 07-08 through 12-13 if he wasn't so unselfish.
Damn, Kobe got hammered.
should have had 50 with all those missed calls
this was kobe with a trash team
I believe Kobe would have more rings than Jordan if he had the same caliber of players as Jordan did during his reign. Scott Pippen is a Hall Of Famer. #8? you not stopping that guy.
and those shoes were super comfortable.
Kobe is too good
Wow I always thought Tony Allen was 6'7.. He's 6'4.
Makes me respect him more especially after shutting down Durant
Since the rape thing Kobe got like no calls.
I'm so glad to see a young, healthy KB again.
You'll get the 6th ring next year.
bnlcblgmdn why the fuck did you lie dude ?
kobe was so agressive back then. no one could guard him. period.
5:50 and tony allen thought he could lock down kobe HAHAHA!
Tony Allen is a really good defender even back in 05
kobe got 0 calls that game and STILL dropped 45..
wow...that fade away on allen was disgusting.
I like how he just stares down and intimidates the refs whenever he gets a no call :D
Tony Allen fouled this man like 4 times this highlight lmao
he probably could've gotten 60+ with the amount of fouls he got...
he should had 50+ points if the refs called the calls.
@4thwonder A better when you take in perspective. There were at lest 2 guys guarding in every play sometimes 3. To shoot and carry a team to victory is great.
Gr8 job of adding some misses to keep us unsure
5:44 Great Defense by Allen just better Offense by Kobe that's why great players wins you championship titles in the NBA.

Such an unecessary comment..

Kobe said in an interview that Tony Allen did the best job on him defensively... I guess he did do a good job but 🙈
kobe was so athletic...
yes but if you have such teammates like smush parker, luke walton, vujajvic kwame brown, brian cook then 39 shots are less
@Boff122: Why you on every Kobe video hating on him trying to bing him down? Are you the girl from Colorado!?
EXTREMELY tough defense by tony allen.
Didn’t matter if Allen was defending him great he was still torching his shit 🔥
You expect smush, kwame, cook, mihm to make shots? No. Only viable offensive threats were Kobe and Lamar. What the fuck would he do?
@bball4life2123 seriously 18 for 39 isn't great but it's pretty good. Going 50% or better is great so being right under it ain't bad.
