Damn thats a light reel 😮 It's so much lighter than any spin reel ever can be, it seems. It still has the goods with a 4kg drag to handle a very decent sized fish 👍.
I think Ricardo reviewed a spinning rel that was either 115 or 117. Surely they can get the weight down further but there isn’t really any race to 100g going on, only in BFS
@yep.fishing once its below 250g reel only it doesn't matter for me. I can cast that all day no issues, so these tinny reels going sub 100g is crazy. I love those classic round reels very nostalgic, but prefer the newer low profile ~100-200 size for palming.
There are some new smaller round reels coming out. One by bearking and one by lizard. I want to get one but the nicer ones are pretty pricey. Like over 500 even for the Chinese one Loongze
@yep.fishing they are super nice and the dc spool control is really awsome. To fancy for an old school fisherman like me 🤣. I love just throwing my bait and bottom bashing 👍.
Humm here is what I like. Lightweight- cheap carbon but light is light. Brake system, definitely upgrade from shimano aldebaran for sure. I like a lot. Spool weight? 3.2 gram though low for stock spool it I still heavy compared to aftermarket spool like kkr.
Yea maybe the spring is now completely flat on both ends. I will take a look at it after I test it first. I’m sure it’s no big deal, just an observation.
Interesting reel, tolerances definitely seem to be quite tight, which is good. Amazingly lightweight, you’d need a very light rod and butt-heavy to feel the combo balanced on your hand. I’m interested to hear your thoughts when you use it. Once again, a very well done review 👏🏼
3.4 grams? Wow, wouldn’t surprise me if it could cast further than a 1000 size spinning reel! The dynamic brakes are a great feature. Looks like shimano have competition
Yea but unfortunately their are still some inconsistencies in quality. Some people have issues and some others love it. I used mine all day yesterday and way really good apart from .04 line getting caught in the spool. I did have 100m on it though.
Initial thoughts are that it's obviously lighter and seemingly with better quality control. Also, just imagine the handle alone. I bet you cant but a handle like that with knobs for under about 12usd
If you examine the screws that attach the frame to the side plates, you'll see they are extremely small. The drive is not sharply defined and I couldn't find a bit that would fit properly. Guess that explains the lack of a reel diagram, as I can't imagine attempting to take the reel apart for tuning, etc.
Hey my buddy, The video turned out very well and you explained everything very very well. Would you say it's worth it or rather wait a little longer, find it priced a bit too high to get me. I'm looking forward to you introducing them on the water.
Hi, thanks for watching. It’s a little less than double the price of the AA but not double the performance, you could look at it that way. Initial impressions seem like it’s very good and possibly comparable to the silver feather in terms of quality. Then again I haven’t seen enough feedback from others to say if they have any quality issues with the GIU like people have with the Aurora Air. The Silver feather is about 40% more expensive for me than the GIU at its current low price. So comparing those it’s worth it so far.
Mine has the same gap visual issue, not a big deal. I dont think the .2gr castbility is a accurate rating, at least not with mine. Im curious to see how low you go, the distance, and with what rod. I used the Mifine illusion, its supposed to throw .2gr. I was able to cast .2gr but only around 18'. I was hoping for around 30'.
Sick video man love your content!🤙🤙🤙
Thanks mate, I will be dropping another rod unboxing video tomorrow.
@@yep.fishingsounds great man. Can’t wait 🤙🤙🤙
It’s an XUL rod that comes in casting a spinning

Even the non DC is that kinda price. I would get the non DC version personally. Just seems like it would have less issues in the long term.

The new version is a little lighter. 1.9g minus with the bearing and shaft excluded. I’m happy with the black version.
That gap that looks like it's have the star drag is a spring, better is spring loaded it creates that effect but is pretty good

Thanks bud, they are on sale now. $95 including tax. Including the Spanish edition...I mean Chinese new year red dragon edition
@@yep.fishing Got it for 57.96$ today. That's a banger deal.
@iDoPew yea I got a the red one too at that price :) double trouble
@@yep.fishing Just noticed that with all coupons applied it actually ended up at just USD 51.8
That's a 'they crazy' price!
Yes very good!

Mine will be here this week. I had to order twice
What happened the first time?
@@yep.fishing IT got to outbound then they sent it back to store. No explanation they just refunded me it was 5 days after I ordered it.
Ok at least it got handled
Still enjoying my Aurora Air... don't think I'll get this just yet...

Yea they are very small indeed. I don’t plan on opening them any time soon and hopefully I won’t need to :)
Amazing how much they can pack into a small light reel these days. Great review champion 🫡
I wonder if any weight can be saved changing the knobs or handle. Handle appears to be hard to beat.
I don’t imagine so. Just by looking at the silver feather handle and this one I would say this one is more or less that same size but ported.

I just tested the knockoff version of that rod today. But the high end it says 8g not .8g
Would this pair well with the yamaga blanks 53b?
I just looked up that rod, yes you can’t cast light lures with this combo on that rod. Looks like it’s a short ajing rod
@@yep.fishing Can ir can't?
Oooops CAN
Should i buy this one or pure lure
Purelure is more of a safe option
We need a comparison on the lower end :D #sub1grgang
Need to join the sub 100 club too
