Hi thank you so much for this video. I have just bought a Skoda fabia from auction and was hoping to fix it but it’s completely flooded in the boot well. Did fixing those flap sealants do the trick? Also I found a boot liner on eBay but it’s rubber plastic one, will it fit the same shape as the one you got from eBay?
It’s a common issue apparently! I only had the car another couple of weeks after doing this job before selling it on, but we did have some rain and there was no sign of moisture inside 🙂 Couldn’t tell you with the rubber liner. If it’s like the one I have in my Forester, I’d imagine it’s just that - a liner to protect the floor. Keep an eye out on eBay, never know when one will pop up! Perhaps Facebook marketplace too or in some Fabia groups 💁♂️
I believe this is the vent: www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/3t0819465a-air-cover-skoda-4405.html And this is the top cover: www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/5j6819987-cover-skoda-35562.html Really a bit of sealant should do the job, unless the part itself has been cracked from rear damage or something. I seem to remember them being pretty sturdy pieces!
Thanks.
It was a mysterious problem and I was delighted to find the explanation.
Had me stumped for a while too!
Thanks for the video mate, im having the same problem Hopefully this sorts it
Fingers crossed! Good luck with it 👊

Do you know the part numbers for these things? I have this same problem and i'm afraid they will crack with removal.
