So, let me get this straight, these farmers have been doing this for generations while it was entirely illegal. Now, you make it legal, but set so many roadblocks for the average farmer that's it's impossible to enter the legal side. Then, you're shocked that they decide to continue growing it illegally just cause there's now a parallel legal market that they can't enter even if they want?!?! Who didn't see this coming?!?!?!

Clearly the legislators didn't see it coming, they were blinded by dollar signs. They forget they are not a business, the goal of a Government is quality of life for the citizens, but it's become all about profit of money in the form of taxes to fill their budgets -- money a concept we made up as a species. Our legislators are morons. Also, it's NOT CALLED MARIJUANA, that name was given to it to help ban it. It's Cannabis or Potiguaya. Marijuana is a different plant.

Well said, all regulation does is eliminate competition and make easier for wealthy corporations to subvert and destroy the cannabis industry like they do everything else, during covid Walmart and Amazon were operating normally but small businesses had to shut down or face $10,000 fines, this cannabis factory is disgusting!

    • @Hansen710
      @Hansen710 ปีที่แล้ว +4

i have deffently seen people that cant handle it, but i have seen the same with alcohol..
for people with schizophrenia or other serius mental health problems for example, it might trigger some problems..
or make them realize they have the condition..(more and more people have mental issues these days)
people also react different to alcohol, and like people say natives that did not drink for many genarations does not reacts well to alcohol..
the same may be the case to some degree with cannabis and inuit´s for example..
blocking recetors with other medications for example can cause problems when treating cancer for example, the receptors can without a doubt also cause a mental issue in some cases
cb receptors are without a doubt a path to a treatment for mental health issues but that path can also lead to other places if not done correct
and women also have twice the amount of receptors in the brain, a woman can often handle less then a man for that reason.
and if we are talking a woman with mental health issues it might be a bigger problem then if it was a man (and who knows perhaps inuits just have more cb receptors )

It's not so much the regulations, it's the cost and taxes as the grower explained. They should start by having these costs be extremely low, to have the legal market dominate and destroy the illegal one. Wait like 2 decades, it will culturally become a normal legalized industry and then start taxing like tobacco which seems fair. Of course, none of this will work until the other states and the federal government legalize it too. Till then, the sigma will prevail and so the black market for export.

The problem is that states have decided they will allow it to be legal if they get a very big, fat, payday from it. With that in mind they have created a system where they are trying to sell a legal product at highly inflated illegal prices which leaves the incentive to raise it illegally in place. To get crime out of the business they need to make pot just plain legal to grow at home as much as you want, which, would crash the prices and disincentivize criminals.
There would still be a market for high quality pot, as not everyone has the skills to raise the quality we see here but, enough people can do it that it could be a cottage industry where some people could could make extra money raising a few plants and a few would be popular enough to make a better income but a lot of people might just be happy with less potent pot.
I would rather drink a beer or a glass of wine as opposed to chugging shots of Ever-clear and the same is true for pot. I'd rather smoke a joint of Colombian or some other mild but good tasting pot than smoke the super high potency stuff.
The only reason the high potency stuff came about in the first place was to be able to smuggle more value in a smaller package.

I have never had a reason to visit a legal distributor or pot store. 30:59 these next few minutes of this mans conversation are some of the most humble, heartfelt words that any addict can speak. And the emotion that comes up when he talks about remembering the shell of himself he was back when he 1st got sober I can sooo fell those words and emotions he is reliving. Being a recovering addict myself 5-22-19 is the day I started to learn how to live and feel alive. And with the help from so many other people along the way I sit here today Proud, humble, enthusiastic, loyal, honest and dedicated to who I am. I never learned how to handle or process anything growing up. I wasn't allowed to show emotion. And just like everyone else in my class we all went to the same keg parties, sniffed the same coke, did X together, acid, shrooms you name it we all did it--- BUT the difference is I became addicted, not all of us did! SO NO I DIDN'T CHOOSE TO BE AN ADDICT, it chose me in a sense. Because why then didn't all of us become addicts, why was it just a select few of us if we all did the same shht.....? Don't put people down, they'll only feel like they deserve to stay down. Try lifting someone up because at the end of the day It's not about you, it's about helping them isn't it..... I like your mentality. Life is about helping the next up the ladder as you climb yourself. The "enter addiction here" that you had and moved past is because you had an issue and I am glad you solved it, I am similar I enjoy a few drinks, but to know others make it out is a good sign. There's really no answer as to why who did and didn't become addicted, other than maybe we have addictive personalities and just have to learn how to control that. Some learn, some go off the deep end and if they don't realize they need that help themselves then you can try but if they're not ready, they're not ready. It's as unfortunate as that.

I've been growing marijuana since 1974. I've won 5 first place trophies, and I'm probably the best, or at least one of the top 5 growers on this planet.
Now, as to a solution to the black market, verses the legal regulated market of marijuana, we will not see a solution until all 50 states are legal and marijuana is de-scheduled.
The DEA might put marijuana under schedule III, but the current problem will still exist.
As to the methamphetamine and fentanyl scourge, again, I do not see any viable solution for years, and maybe decades.
This is my expert opinion and I'm usually always right.
