- This figure was sculpted incredibly and the paint is ok enough. Will the loose articulation make it an easy pass or would you rather just use a stand to hold him upright since he would look pretty darn good with some new paint?

The Arkham Knight design of Croc was great since his genes mutated further to grow a tail. But for this figure it's nice but needs a wash throughout to bring out the details more, and matte finish on the pants

I love the 2004 “the batman” design and character for croc where they turned him into a boy form the deep south who had dreams to make it big in Gotham but you know as a criminal and not like an actor or something normal
The killer croc from beware the batman was a cool yet classic take on the character. He's like a straight up 3d version of the original animated series version
I like the look of Kroc in Arkham Asylum and City, he’s got a muscular-athletic look, big shoulders and traps, and he’s ripped. Knights version he just looks like a big ol monster. I like the animated series too for similar reasons.

This actually is my favorite version of Killer Croc. His design is gigantic and monstrous, fit the Arkham verse so well (I do love the Arkham Origins design too and hope it gets a new figure in this line).
That being said, this figure is at least a step up from the old DC Collectibles version. The sculpt is a bit better and so is the articulation. Plus, his arms and legs don't randomly break off. I do agree that they needed to hollow out certain portions of the upper body and maybe bulk the legs up a bit more for added stability. A higher quality paint job would've been nice but the sculpt is incredible. The pants could've been brighter but I don't mind it cause Croc's pants were really filthy in the game. Some alternate hands and maybe another head with an open mouth (or just a hinged jaw on the regular head) would've been nice. If a figure can't grab anything, it's always a disappointment.
Great review. I still think I'm going to get this guy. Gotta have a full Arkham set.

Thanks for the review. My fav version of Croc isn't exactly of him but more of an amalgamation. In the Batman vs Xenomorph comic, a hybrid was created using Killer Croc's dna. They thought they could control it, but since Croc is untamable... well, you can guess what's next.
My favorite version of Killer Croc is the one where he’s wearing a hat and fighting the Ninja Turtles and his name is Leatherneck.

Mine probably has to be batman the animated series as well. The killer croc layer in arkham asylum was very scary the first time I played it.
My favorite version of Killer Croc is probably the version from The Batman: specifically the animated series from 2004.

Awesome looking figure but I agree the paint could look a whole lot better, might pick him up. Favorite version of croc is with the snout and I also like the animated series one since it was the one I grew up with

My favourite killer croc design has to be from the Hush storyline. The crazy mutations and insanity look good on him. Thanks for the review, this guys going to be a hard pass for me. Still traumatised by McFarlanes TDKR Batman and his god awful articulation
My introduction to the character was Batman:TAS, so that’s my favorite version.
Not really a fan of this design.
It’s not the worst by far, but it just…lacks something to me.
It’s a shame McFarlane’s bigger figures seem to suffer so much.

I wish that we had jaw articulation. Or at least an alternate roar head, and and hands to match. The mega figs having ZERO accessories is tiresome, and with the new Bane we don't have anything either, which is dumb.

I actually prefer the older, say, Knightfall-era, more human-looking Croc. But I can dig the contemporary monster look too. The only thing I *dislike* is the Arkham games design, ha. I like the games a lot but don’t really like their general aesthetic at all, even though the gameplay is great.
Love the origins croc
For adaptations of the character this look may be my favorite purely as a cool design, but in terms of my mental image of the character the animated series design is more in line with how I like to imagine the character. I'd say that or his earlier comic appearances where he's big but not some huge monster, instead he's more just a very muscled guy but he's green, has scales and crazy teeth and eyes and is way stronger than someone of that size would be.
DC direct had the character at the same price point with much more paint and metal chains. Granted this was 10 years ago but was also only sold at specialty stores not mass retail
That figure was notorious for breaking at the shoulders unfortunately. That DC Direct line used extremely hard, brittle plastic for their joints

Fun fact I picked up this and man-bat shortly after watching your man-bat review (I was going to anyway). My Man-bat, super sturdy only somewhat loose in the toe. Killer Croc…every damn joint on it (save the neck) is wobbly. Sags like a rag if I pick it up from the torso.
Arkham Origins-BTAS version of CroC are Mt favorite versions, I feel the Arkham Origins was basically what a 3d rendered BTAS Croc would look like, just a large human with odd mutations. Actually a fan of the version from the 2016 Suicide Squad for that reason. HATED Arkham Knight and Hush Croc man versions
I like the grey animated series Killer Croc from the animated series. That was my first Killer Croc. So that is what I expect to see when I think of Killer Croc.

Really wish Mcfarlane would start making completely new figures. Now, don’t get me wrong, we still needed this guy. The DC Collectibles one is horrifically fragile, so it’s nice to have a cheaper, sturdier, and admittedly smaller version. But it would be even BETTER if they did Arkham Knight Croc. We never got that figure. Or even an unmasked City Hush, or Knight’s Deacon Blackfire and Firefly. I’d love to also see a better articulated Black Mask from Origins as well as Bullock and Gordon from the same game

I love the way u broke the action figure down, u was point on.
I think 7 is a fair rating. I don’t mind the paint issues s much as you do but those hip joints are terrible. I hoped McFarlane was going away from them but it seems they’re still around. I had to fix the loose toe joints on Croc and Man-Bat because they kept falling over. Solid release though.
What are some good paint brands for painting these figures, especially the rubber parts? I have tried Testor's enamel paint, but it doesn't seem to dry and always smears.
Tamiya brand paints, or Citadel (Games Workshop) paints tend to work really well w/ McFarlane figures, in my experience! 😁
@@mynamedoesntmatter3129 oh I forgot to mention, I have used Citadel, but they still feel sticky on rubber overlays like Batman from Arkham Knight.
@@daviid_ee Ah fair enough! The other thing I could recommend, is applying a bit of spray primer first? Sometimes I just tape off the areas I don't want to get primed, and then I spray down a light primer coat so the paint has something to stick to.
Something about the plastic Mcfarlane uses, I find often paint doesn't stick as much as I'd like.
@@mynamedoesntmatter3129 yeah I’ve tried it. I usually wash the figures to remove any dirt and oils, let it dry and use a bit of primer. I have not used tamiya, so I might have to give that one a try. I know this one in particular is preferred by high-end collectible manufacturers.

Killer Croc was always an interesting one for me. He's kind of just a rip-off of the Lizard from Spider-Man but without the backstory and character that makes the Lizard compelling, which isn't a knock on him like you'd think, Thanos is basically just Darkseid and I still like both Thanos and Croc, but it was fairly apparent in his design that he was rather derivative of Marvel's work, so personally I actually like his design from the Animated Series the most. Reminds me of an albino crocodile, those things look super awesome, and it actually gives him a unique look that differentiates him from the guy he's ripping off rather than something generic and green. Arkham Origins makes him more gray and albino looking and he looks sick there, love those kickboxer style hand wraps. Wish he was albino coloured more often, real cool look for him.

@@cincila6981 He's, at least in my opinion, not. literally the only similarity they have is that they're strong and have green scaly skin. In his first appearance Killer Croc is just a guy with scaly skin, lacking any other lizard-like qualities. To me it'd be like calling Quicksilver a rip off of the flash for having the same power.

And an other hit and MISS by McFarlane : Sculpt yes BUT everything else NOPE : messy colours/paint, zero accesories NOR hands to hold anything and referring to the hip-joint as diaper is not a good sign. And to think we all had high hopes after the Kickstarter Spawn...
Dc collectibles version have articulated jaw which is more better

My top three killer croc's number 3 Batman Arkham Knight number to Arkham Asylum but he gets a 10 out of 10 I really like the Arkham Asylum Killer Croc I just downloaded the game a few days ago and I just beat his level and number one has to be Arkham City because I've seen that one and it looks really good and it's pretty much just the same as Arkham Asylum
Damn those giant shoulders and decent sized pecs are making me feel some type of way 🥵 I just with the lats and traps were a little bigger but still. Love the size. Might actually pick this up just to play with
These big menacing figures are to be just that...hulking and impressive. You can't expect the nimble articulation of a smaller more agile character. I do agree with the numb skull paint job. The pants have three different colors and, yeah, textures to them. All in all I will get this figure just for the fun..."#@$%#@"you...I can mess you up...factor. Thanks for the vid.
