Now this figure was based off of Greg Capullos illustration I believe. The idea in that was that it was supposed to show his lip was becoming so heavy that it was falling away from his gums, which I love. But in execution in toy form it’s a little weird.
Love your honest reviews of these McFarlane figures because it almost seems like every other reviewer is saying how good these figures are. Mcfarlane makes fine statues and somewhat decent action figures.
8:35 your videos are hilarious sometimes! Hearing you so frustrated and annoyed by the head issue and then so happy and surprised with Fluffy... priceless hahaha
I would have to say my favorite Batman villain has to be a tie between Scarecrow and Mr. Freeze but overall I like Scarecrow more, just because of the fact he could be Batmans most dangerous enemy without real powers ever if given full potential, because of the fact that he's essentially a human form of fear itself, and plus I just think he's an interesting/complex character
Couldn't have said it better. Plus dude's had some absolutely stunning designs over the years, ones I'm shocked McFarlane has yet to touch on. Odd to think he's only done one as a quasi accessory for Last Knight on Earth Bane (Still a badass design tho)
My other favorite Batman villain is Bane! I just really like the character design and I’m hoping we get a great figure of him in the classic outfit. This Clayface really does look like the Great Mighty Poo from ‘Conker’s Bad Fur Day’ 💀 and the way you smacked the shid out of his back 😂 I have yet to buy a McFarlane DC figure but if I had to pick one rn it would be Lobo, it doesn’t look too bad
I really like the new ML Rhino hands that can hold other figures. That’s what Clayface’s hands should be calibrated towards. I have no idea why your paint job looks so inconsistent- maybe it’s the lighting. I haven’t opened mine yet, but I checked and it doesn’t have any variation in color among the arms, torso, lower torso, and legs.
Aside from Joker, Scarecrow without a doubt would be my favorite Batman villain, his backstory and gimmick which leads to great visuals makes him easily my favorite. I was tempted by this but my DC shelf is crammed, I just sold off a bunch of them and its still crowded. If I were to get one of these deluxe figures I think I'll just get the Arkham Asylum Killer Croc, that design of him is easily my favorite and it'll be less expensive and less fragile than that first DC Collectibles version.
Dude!!! I enjoy watching all of your reviews. But this one had me ROTFLMAO. 🤣🤣🤣 I understand most folks say your reviews are too negative but I appreciate the objectivity. I refer to your reviews before I make any buying decisions. Since I'm streamlining my collection, your objectivity truly helps. And since I've been following your reviews for quite some time now, I've already tuned in to your sense of humor and sarcasm. This has got to be, by far, my favorite review of any figure ever. 😂😂😂 It helps that Fluffy made a cameo. lol great review on this pile of crap. 😆😆😆
My favorite Batman villain is probably Owlman, basically just an evil version of Batman. I have this figure displayed on my desk, I actually like the different shades of browns and some of the orange coloring, makes it look like different kinds of poop put together. Also hate the shoulder articulation, it's just so loose and also how thin the plastic used for the torso.
I'd say Riddler is one of my favorites. With Riddler battles, we see Batman using his intelligence and detective skills to solve his riddles and stop him rather than how most Batman fights are action-packed. The BTAS episode "If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich" is my favorite depiction of this.
There was a time when McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse seemed like, with some articulation tweaks, it could become a very good action figure line, specially for the price point. Unfortunately, from then on it spiraled into a downward path and I went from supporting it by buying every character they released wishing they would eventually release classic looks to not buying a single one of their releases. This is another one of those it could've been good but it is not. I 100% agree with all your critics, thanks for the review Anthony.
I like the sculpt work on these DC figures for the most part. I’m definitely excited for the Blackest Night stuff since that’s one of my favorite DC comics storylines. The Red and Black lanterns are going to look awesome! My answer for favorite Batman villain is either Bane, Killer Croc or Mr. Freeze?
I really like the riddler as a batman villain. I think Batman’s at his most interesting when he’s doing detective stuff, and the riddler brings out some of the best examples of that. Poison Ivy’s a close runner-up though, because I love femme fatale characters
Haha seems like the collection cards are like their social media selfie version... I like a lot the design of scarecrow in Batman TAS... By this point, I know exactly what to expect from Mcfarlene toys, so no high expectations, just filling the shelf when the figure is interesting enough
Man, they did Clayface dirty with this figure. I half expected it to start singing "I am the great mighty poo" from Conker's bad fur day when you opened the figure's mouth.
Clayface has a pretty good redemption arc in Detective Comics by James Tynion IV. As for my favorite villain, I preferred Red Hood as a villain and was disappointed he became an anti-hero.
My favourite Batman villain besides The Joker is Szasz. He's an actual maniac, he's dangerous, and the way he's portrayed in Knightfall (with black, lifeless eyes) genuinely frightened me as a kid 😂
For question of the day : Killer Croc, although not sure if it should count because I like his redemtion arc/antihero status. Good thing the cat came to the review to calm you down a bit.
I’m liking the look of this figure. The mouth is a weird cool touch, looks bizarre in a good way. Liking the random screaming faces on the body too. Looks decent, I’d consider getting this one out of all the Mcfarlane line. Good size to him too.
Choosing a favorite Batman villain is like picking one of my nonexistent kids, but it's a three-way between Scarecrow and Mr. Freeze. Scarecrow's design in The New Batman Adventures and Arkham Asylum show just how terrifying he can be as well as using psychological warfare as opposed to brute force and Freeze's backstory from The Animated Series is unequivocally the best of any Batman villain. Plus I liked his portrayal in Batman and Robin (Fite me)
Honestly. I'm tempted to say Clayface as well. TBH... unless a really, really talented writer is working with Joker, he's usually my least favorite villain. Phantasm is great too... Bane is awesome. KGBeast has a cool design, never read a story with him tho tbh. Also. Super rare misprint base FTW!!!
favourite villain is between ra's al'ghull and the riddler. ra's is trying to do good but in a demented twisted way of fighting injustice. i like riddler because of the animated series and batman forever(dont judge me) batman forever is criminally underrated. val kilmer was a great batman
I recently realized that the Mattel DC Super Heroes Clayface (from before DCUC) is probably going to be the only Clayface I'll ever need. That figure is really old, but they did him right. I even recently sold my Mattel BAF Clayface (which may or may not have been a mistake).
I like to think the photo card these figures come with how is how the figures wish they could look and pose. Like inspirational photo for them. Unfortuenaly the figures themselves are underachievers. Though it looks like Clayface here at least put the effort into Photoshoping his photo.
Scarecrow is my favorite villain, I like him more even if we were counting joker. I also like Mr. Freeze, Killer Croc and Scarface and the Ventriloquist
Happy Father's Day! My favorite Batman villain is Bane. I like Tw0-face, but Batman 500 really stuck with me. The Clayface episodes of the animated series are excellent. It is too bad the figure did not live up to expectations.
I think Mcfarlane changes the location of the DC logo just to mess with AC. The orange does make some sense as some clays do get really right with different areas being dry/wet. But like the video said, it's not consistent. Mcfarlane as a company needs to stop changing statues into action figures. They need to make action figures they change nearly into statues. As in marrying sculpt and articulation. Accessories. At the price point of this figure, there is zero reason he shouldn't have a few alternate hands.
GREAT, GREAT REVIEW. We have to accept, what McFARLANE does, for DC. 1. POOR QUALITY CONTROL 2. Tiny HANDS, ( not this figure) 3. Few accessories 4. NO GUNS 5. He makes two or three versions of a simple figure, with a mask, without a mask, or a gold edition. In other words, it is not possible to put several hands and several heads in a package, "IS IT A TERRIBLE IDEA?". EVERYTHING TO GET MORE MONEY FROM THOSE WHO SUPPORT HIM, THAT'S HIS WAY OF THANKING. And whose fault is it, we who buy them and then complain. ! BRAVO!
Anthony, my favorite is Mr.Freeze the one from Batman the Animated Series. Killer Croc comes just behind. He and Penguin are consistently the best of his non Joker villains portrayed in DC comics. Whoa Dogies did I really want this figure when it was first offered. You are right though on all your points. I saw him in store and was crushed. Instead I got the DC multiverse Clayface vs Batman 2-pack. A set I had been waiting to go to a reasonable price. In my opinion a strong contender for the best Clay face action figure. The Batman was the bonus figure to me, not one I especially wanted but he was specifically painted to be fighting Clay face. Also looks like he has doo-di on him😏 Happy Father's day 👍
I'm here all day for Anthony taking McFarlane to the woodshed. I'm in these comments a lot, criticizing McFarlane figures a lot. I find a lot of them are just very inconsistent, and my big problem with McFarlane figures is the engineering that goes into them, though there is also an intersection between engineering and design that I feel like McFarlane just doesn't take enough time on. It's like one party designs it, and another party sticks articulation in there with no regard for how it's meant to function. Its like the barest minimum thought went into it. Also just hate the cheapness of the hollow ABS candy shell of a torso this has.
McFarlane seems to really want to go back to making barely articulated figures, because the way they're doing articulation and sculpt feels like they're making mostly a statue and then cutting it up, figuring out articulation after the fact and then adding a diaper.
I got this Clayface figure a couple months back. It's a decent enough figure, and if just standing on a shelf, has good presence. However, I have noticed that McFarlane seems to have a difficult with oversized, non-humanoid, figures. Violator can't stand without support thanks to his super heavy upper body. It's a solid figure. Clayface is way more hollow in comparison but still has issues like the shoulders not being able to support the arms. Articulation cuts aside, they also need to figure out weight distribution on some of these Mega size figures. I pre-ordered Man-Bat, I hope that doesn't have the same issues.
Oh hey. Vic Freeze is the right answer! Not my favorite, I think that's the Ventriloquist... but Freeze is my litmus test. If you can't get Freeze right, give up. (Im looking at you Gotham.)
I’m so glad I canceled the preorder to this one, I ended up picking ordering the DC Superheroes Clayface and it was worth it. I hope to get the Mattel BAF Clayface
You're right.. I didn't see the huge gap in the bottom jaw/lip on the card, but I just watched it back and it was there. *Sigh* I guess they just started with a weird sculpt.
He has the butterfly wings of a 600 lber 😹Agree they are taking the piss with those “display stands” and “trading cards”! Fluffy is so gorgeous 10/10 😽💯🤟

I saw this at Target but always prefer to see a review on all figures before buying!
My other favorite Batman villain is Bane! I just really like the character design and I’m hoping we get a great figure of him in the classic outfit.

Mr Freeze for me too, great character design and such a tragic back story.
Seeing this thing do the splits sure was something 😳
I love how stable the figure is. Stability 11 out of 10. That's all
I like Deadshot as one of Batman's rogues. Batman hates guns, and Deadshot is a gun-guy, so it's pretty fitting.
They could definitely make him and he could still have guns it would just have to be his wrist mounted ones.
I really like the new ML Rhino hands that can hold other figures. That’s what Clayface’s hands should be calibrated towards. Lmfao
This version of Clayface uses lip discs. Also, should have 2 bases so at least the figure can stand level.

The Mad Hatter might be one of the better, more underappreciated ones imo.

This "Clayface" looks like the Rancor monster from Return of the Jedi.

Mine would be two-face or mr.freeze. i really wish this figure would have come with swappable weapon attachments.
Personally my favorite Batman villain is Two-Face and Harley Quinn but if I have to choose than definitely Two-Face
Going to go with 2 obscure villains- The Eraser and The Bookworm.
